She's also four for four on resultant box office pillages, and the folks at Open Road Films would love nothing more than for her first non-"Twilight" book-to-screen adaptation, "The Host," to become the next focal point for the rabid attention of her fan base. Katie Holmes in Talks for Reboot of Chekhov's 'The Seagull'

Remember back in high school when you didn't read Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" even though it was assigned to you over and over again?

Well, now you can make up for lost time thanks to Christian Camargo's ambitious plans to reboot this literary classic. No, really, you might actually be interested this go-round.

That's because Camargo (best known for his killer role in season one of "Dexter") is gearing up to make his directorial debut (from a script he also wrote) with a retelling of Chekhov's most famous play that puts Katie Holmes front-and-center. If the negotiations go through, Mrs. Tom Cruise Holmes will star alongside other Hollywood heavyweights including William Hurt, Allison Janney, Russell Means, Jean Reno, Mark Rylance and Juliet Rylance. William Hurt to Join Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host'?

Academy Award winner William Hurt has had his fair share of career milestones, but as everyone is Hollywood knows, you're nobody until throngs of screaming girls know your name.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the veteran actor may soon know the warm embrace of Stephenie Meyer fandom as he's currently in talks to take on a major role in "The Host," based on the "Twilight" author's sci-fi novel of the same name.

Hurt is currently in negotiations to play Jeb, the uncle of lead character Melanie Stryder, played by "Hanna" star Saoirse Ronan. Jeb plays an integral role against the alien invasion that has left his niece's brain controlled by an alien named Wanderer. Get More »
