When Vanessa Hudgens was starring in Disney's "High School Musical" movies (which really weren't that long ago), did she ever imagine in a million years that one of her near-future gigs would involve her spending most of her screen time in little more than a bikini, swearin', smokin', drinkin' and sexin' up a storm and just generally flinging herself into a debauchery super-storm?
That's the beauty of Hollywood: its uncanny ability to shred innocence into a million pieces. Check out the "Spring Breakers" beauty embracing her wild side in our gallery.
How do we love "Spring Breakers"? Let us count the ways.
Harmony Korine's neon-soaked ode to Floridian spring break debauchery hits L.A. and New York theaters today and opesn in wide release across the country March 22, when many of our own sunkissed compatriots are taking a break from real life themselves. In the movie, college students played by Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine head south for a week on sandy beaches, singing Britney Spears and slinging margaritas (among other, um, substances). Their situation goes rapidly south, due in part to James Franco's character, Alien, a cornrowed rapper who claims he's "not from this earth, y'all."
Korine's infinitely quotable, cuckoo bananas film is sure to claim its own stake in the pop culture landscape, so we figured we'd get a little head start and share with you our 11 favorite quotes, with accompanying GIFs, from the movie.
We're gonna celebrate spring break forever, bitches. Get More »
[From MTV News] Given all of the advanced buzz surrounding Harmony Korine's latest project, the sex- and drug-fueled vacation romp "Spring Breakers," it should come as little surprise that the film's actresses — many former Disney darlings — performed acts that would make a certain Mouse blush and hide his face behind gloved hands. But how did the leading ladies themselves feel about these daring deeds?
"The thing I was most scared of was the sex scene and the nudity issue behind all of it," Vanessa Hudgens told MTV News recently. "Because I was not down to show this [gestures to chest]."

All of the week's hot casting news in one fell swoop ...
• We wouldn't mind getting snowed in with this trio! The Hollywood Reporter calls for stormy weather as "Project X" star Miles Teller will star opposite Analeigh Tipton and Jessica Szohr in "Two Night Stand," a romantic indie that centers on a pair of twentysomething strangers who awaken after an ill-advised one-night stand to find themselves snowed in by a blizzard that’s put all of Manhattan on ice.
• After playing a victim in "Straw Dogs," Kate Bosworth is looking to be the rabble-rouser this time around. Heat Vision reports that the "Blue Crush" beauty will be playing James Franco's revenge-minded (and meth-addicted) sister in "Homefront," the action thriller starring Jason Statham and written by Sylvester Stallone. We've got a new trailer for the upcoming thriller "Frozen Ground," — starring Nicolas Cage, Vanessa Hudgens and John Cusack — and in it one of them plays a cop, one of them plays a killer and one of them plays a stripper. But can you guess which is which?

Vanessa Hudgens is continuing to run as far from "High School Musical" as possible.
The "Sucker Punch" beauty is the latest addition to the ever-growing ensemble of Robert Rodriguez's grindhouse sequel, "Machete Kills," according to The Playlist.
News of Hudgens' involvement comes via her own official site, where it's revealed that she'll be playing the role of Cereza. As that's Spanish for "cherry," it should give you some idea of what kind of gal she is — yet another scantily-clad object of desire that probably knows how to shoot a gun and/or throw a knife. In honor of Rihanna making a splashy debut in the ocean-bound blockbuster "Battleship," we're locked, loaded and counting down some of the sexiest screen sirens to handle monster weapons.
That's right, we're bringing out the big guns, in more ways than one, as these scorching hot ladies show us a thing or two about proper marksmanship.
Time to 'fess up -- you've been secretly hating on Vanessa Hudgens for a while now, and with no real good reason. Sure, she's had a few rough TV moments. And yes, she starred in one of the most annoying gimmicky movie franchises in modern history, but she's not some drug-addled child star who couldn't transition to adulthood, either.
In fact, it's just the opposite. Now that her latest flick, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" (alongside "Hunger Games" heartthrob Josh Hutcherson, no less) is just around the corner, we assembled a list of just a few reasons to stop hating on the Hudge. Vanessa, you're welcome. Get More »
