Michael Bay is currently working on the fourth (yes, fourth) installment of the blockbuster "Transformers" franchise, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is.
According to Mr. Fergie Josh Duhamel, none of the original cast seems to be gearing up to partake in this go-round: "I don't think anybody's doing it. I know Shia [LaBoeuf]'s not doing it. I don't think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it."
Guess that means him too.
The Robot Master has accepted his destiny.
This Valentine's Day will be one to remember for lovers of the giant robot aliens from the planet Cybertron as Michael Bay has officially announced that he'll be keeping with tradition and calling the shots on "Transformers 4," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The official word comes hot on the heels of "Transformers" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura telling MTV News that the fourth installment will hit theaters in 2014. He also confirms that the film will be something of a reboot, though specifics of the new story have yet to be worked out. It's also unknown whether any of the original cast members will return -- though, as far as the non-human characters are concerned, we can probably definitely count on "Optimus Prime and Bumblebee" coming back. The Big Apple is feeling Golden Delicious tonight as it celebrates the Giants 21-to-17 victory over the New England Patriots, but Hollywood is also getting a Gatorade shower. The Super Bowl is the biggest advertising day of the year, and the studios blitzed TV viewers with new looks at their coolest flicks.
It's also when different companies trot out serious big gun celebrities to pimp their rides. So are you feeling lucky, punk? We're chugging Pepto Bismol, recycling our empty beer bottles, and looking back at the best movie moments during this year's big game.
Welcome to Super Bowl… PSYCHE!
Universal Studios Hollywood pulled some ol' fakeout interrupted programming, with Optimus Prime and Megatron warning us that we'll perish if we don't hop on "Transformers: The Ride 3-D" this May. Hard sell, guys. Get More »
When you think of Hollywood's powerhouse couples, who comes to mind? Brad and Angelina, Will and Jada, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds or Leonardo DiCaprio and their favorite starlet or model of the week?
But what about those couples whose magic ends after the curtain draws; the actresses who don't end up dating Bradley Cooper? It can still work out all kinds of well — just ask Ron and Hermione.
The "Harry Potter" duo landed the top spot on Forbes' list of on-screen power couples, beating out fan favorites Bella and Edward, with the "Harry Potter" films earning a whopping $4.2 billion against the comparatively paltry $2.5 reeled in by those glittery immortals Edward and Bella. Get More »
Because, really, who else could direct a "Transformers" movie?
Michael Bay may have thought that he was done with "Transformers," but "Transformers" is apparently not done with him, according to Vulture.
Bay, who directed all three films in the mega-popular series, is in final negotiations to direct a fourth giant robot smack-down. Now that Bay's long-gestating passion project, "Pain and Gain," is finally coming together, he's apparently much more receptive to signing on for another "Transformers" movie with Paramount. Hollywood has long had a love/hate relationship with pirates. On the one hand, films like "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" continue to flourish at the box office, raking in billions of dollars from pirate enthusiasts.
But while on-screen piracy is great, studios aren't so keen on real world piracy. It's a funny thing.
We have a feeling Hollywood execs aren't laughing right now, though, because TorrentFreak has just released their list of the ten most pirated movies of all time -- and you may be surprised at just which movies top the chart. Get More »
There truly is "more than meets the eye" in director Michael Bay's third bombastic blockbuster based on the Hasbro toy vehicles that transformed into robots. The super-slick opening of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" blends real footage of John F. Kennedy and Walter Cronkite during the space race of the '60s with new footage of the Apollo 11 astronauts discovering a crashed Transformers ship on the moon.
The action then cuts to the present day, where Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is struggling to find a job and do something that matters after helping to save the world twice with Megan Fox. We learn that Fox's character dumped Sam (in real life, the actress wasn't invited back because, among other things, she called Bay a "Nazi") and Sam has shacked up with the equally hot Carly Spencer (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). Is that a Transformer in his pocket or are supermodels just happy to see him? Just saying. Get More »
Megan Fox can't seem to give an interview without seeing some tiny nugget of quotage being spun into controversy.
Just look at some of the latest Fox news headlines, which quote the "Transformers" actress as saying she's removing the tattoo of Marilyn Monroe she has on her right forearm because the late icon is "a negative character" who suffered from "personal disorders and was bipolar."
"The point I was trying to make is that I feel like this person, her death was surrounded in negativity and she lived a hard and difficult life and I feel like inking something like that on your skin may not be the best thing to do," Fox told NextMovie exclusively in an interview at the Toronto Film Festival for her upcoming romantic dramedy "Friends With Kids."
"As I've grown I feel like I want very positive things around me and I feel like she suffered, not because I don't love her, but she clearly suffered as a human being." Get More »
Michael Bay's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is back! Wait... what? (Isn't that still in theaters?!)
'Tis true, my friend, 'tis true. Originally released June 29, this summer blockbuster has already been "digitally remastered," with proprietary IMAX technology, no less.
While Bay once derided 3-D, his buddy James Cameron convinced the director that the medium was right for the "Transformers" flick. We can only assume Cameron's pioneering efforts with "Avatar" that earned a bazillion dollars whole lot of money gave him some street cred.
Now, with Bay on board, "Dark of the Moon" will re-release in a whopping 246 IMAX theaters in North America from Aug. 26 through Sept. 8. During this bonus two-week run, the action adventure will play simultaneously with other movies already booked by IMAX, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. (No official word on how the other movies feel about that.) Get More »
Chemistry is a funny thing. Some couples have it, some couples don’t. If the trailer for "Friends with Benefits" is any indication, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis most definitely have that special something. It doesn't hurt that they’re both madly attractive stars with banging bodies.
In honor of this sexy pairing -- thank you, casting gods! -- we've compiled our picks for the hottest on-screen couples to grace the silver screen this century (ie, since 2000). Guys, loosen up that collar. Ladies, turn on that AC.
