Matthew McConaughey is about to trade his leather thong for a pinstriped suit. We may be guessing about the pinstriped detail, but the "Magic Mike" star has signed on for Martin Scorsese's latest, "The Wolf of Wall Street."

Adapted by Terence Winter (the scribe behind "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Sopranos") from Jordan Belfort's book, the crime drama follows a New York stockbroker who refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street that has links back to the mob… not that this story has any basis in real life or anything.

Leonardo DiCaprio will star as Belfort himself, the questionable stockbroker who just doesn't want to talk. McConaughey, for his part, will play Mark Hanna, Belfort's early boss and mentor. (Hey, if you're looking for a mentor, he's not a bad one to have.)

As reported by Deadline, the rest of the cast lineup includes Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie and Jon Bernthal to name a few. In other words, this movie should be pretty awesome.

Shooting is expected to begin this month in New York, which means it shan't be too long before we're reminded just how good McConaughey looks on-screen with his clothes on.

For five seasons, Kyle Chandler gained rave reviews on "Friday Night Lights." The only problem was nobody actually watched it. Now, though, Chandler is turning that buzz into a big time movie career — and, according to Deadline, he's just landed his biggest role yet as a crusading FBI agent in the upcoming Martin Scorsese drama "The Wolf of Wall Street."

Looks like Chandler must have clear eyes and a full heart, because these days he just can't lose.

Based on the bestselling memoir by Jordan Belfort, "The Wolf of Wall Street" tells the story of how Belfort became a Wall Street millionaire by the age of 26 before losing everything in a downward spiral of drugs and other foolish nonsense. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Belfort, while Jonah Hill is on board to play Belfort's best buddy.

Considering both of those fellows are Oscar nominees and will be directed by legendary Oscar winning director Scorsese, it's safe to say that Chandler — who is also co-starring in upcoming  films like "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty" — is in really good company. Which just goes to show that television ratings aren't everything; sometimes doing good work actually does get you rewarded after all.

Now that's a lesson we think Coach Taylor would truly appreciate.

Funnyman-turned-Oscar nominee Jonah Hill is adding another serious movie notch to his belt.

According to Deadline, Hill has joined the cast of Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese's fifth movie collaboration, "The Wolf of Wall Street."

Hill, who was nominated for an Academy Award this year for his supporting role in "Moneyball" alongside Brad Pitt, will once again play the sidekick in "Wall Street."

The script for "The Wolf of Wall Street" (written by Terence Winter of "The Sopranos" and "Boardwalk Empire" fame) is based on Jordan Belfort's 2008 memoir of the same name, which chronicles his tumultuous rise and fall in the finance industry. Hill will portray Belfort's best friend who is encouraged to join him in the turbulent stock market business.

Scorsese and DiCaprio have worked together on four prior films, including "Gangs of New York," "The Aviator," "The Departed," and "Shutter Island."  This will be Jonah Hill's first collaboration with either of the two.

Hill, thankfully, is not altogether shedding his comedic bone for these acclaim potential films. He was recently seen in "The Sitter" and "21 Jump Street" and is attached to star in "True Story" and Seth Rogen's "The Apocalypse."

UPDATE: Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will officially collaborate for the fifth time on "The Wolf of Wall Street," according to Deadline.

News that Marty and Leo would probably be working together on the adaptation of Jordan Belfort's memoir of his days as a hard-partying, drug-addicted stockbroker (one who was indicted in 1998 for security fraud and money laundering) was announced over a year ago, though nothing was set in stone until now.

Previous Scorsese/DiCaprio collaborations include "Gangs of New York" (2002), "The Avitator" (2004), "The Departed" (2006) and "Shutter Island" (2010). They took a break from each other with last year's "Hugo" but they're back -- and in New York, at that.

Filming on "The Wolf of Wall Street" is set to commence in August.

Thank goodness -- they were probably going into withdrawal!

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio took a break from working with each other when Marty took on "Hugh Cabret," the upcoming 3-D children's adventure that had roles for Jude Law and Michael Pitt but apparently not for the director's usual collaborator.

Never fear, though -- the duo are set to reunite for their fifth film together with "The Wolf of Wall Street," according to Vulture.

Scorsese was attached to the film adaptation of Jordan Belfort's 1990 bestseller once upon a time but dropped out at some point along the way, making room for Ridley Scott to step in as director.

However, Ridley has dropped out now that he's doing his sci-fi extravaganza, "Prometheus," and Marty is once again on board, with Leo set to star as a drug-, alcohol- and sex-addicted brokerage firm operator who goes from a multi-millionaire in the '80s to a federal convict banned from the securities business for life in 1994.

Whew! We're glad Marty and Leo are back together. That was a close one.

Production on "The Wolf of Wall Street" is set to begin in June.
