The 9 Spookiest Kids' Movies
Focus Features
It's Halloween night. Do you know what movies your children are watching?
It wouldn't be the most wonderful holiday of the year without a double- or triple-feature of scary movies to go with the tricking and treating. While there are plenty of R-rated slasher flicks to please big brother and sister in the other room, there are also a fair amount of PG-rated spookfests that provide good, clean fun (and scares!) for the under-13 crowd in the basement. My Favorite Movie: Chris Colfer
There are several movies I love, but if I have to pick one, I'd say "The Wizard of Oz" because it was one of the first movies that I really fell in love with and had a deep effect on me."
Chris Colfer stars on Fox Television's hit series, "Glee," which made its fourth season premiere earlier this week. He also takes the lead in the upcoming film, "Struck By Lightning," which he wrote himself.
Our 15 Favorite Lady Villains in Movies
Everyone loves a bad boy. The snarling mustache twirlers get all of the fame and fortune -- the No. 1 spot on movie-geek lists, the Halloween costumes, the cool quotes -- and none of them have to worry about being called a witch.
But here at NextMovie, we're all about the bad girls. We love a lady who isn't afraid to embrace her nasty side in order to get what she wants.
In honor of "Savages" and Salma Hayek's role as a brutal drug cartel leader, we've gathered up the coolest and cruelest women to grace the silver screen. We're a little worried about ranking them, because if there's one thing we know about these vicious villainesses, it's that they don't like competition. But we did. Now, you read. We'll run. Our 9 Favorite Honorary Irishmen: Green Guys in Movies
With Saint Patrick's Day upon us, we're excited to reflect on the many contributions of the Irish people. And we totally plan on reading "How the Irish Saved Civilization," which we're guessing is about how the Irish stopped a killer comet from crashing into the Earth.
But in the meantime, we're honoring the great people of Ireland (while reaffirming our ceaseless commitment to environmentalism) by listing our nine favorite movie characters who keep it green all year long, not just when it's festively fashionable.
My Favorite Movie: Miles Teller
"I have to go with 'The Wizard of Oz.'
"When I was a kid, I used to watch it like twice a day. It's just enchanting man. Like, that's a movie!
"I think it combines theater elements and fantasy, and it's whimsical and even scary. Those flying monkeys are terrifying.
"I also used to have a crush on Judy Garland."
Miles Teller starred in "Project X" and the recent remake of "Footloose." He'll next be seen in "21 and Over," from the writers of "The Hangover," and "Get a Job," also starring Anna Kendrick.
'Wizard Of Oz' Munchkin Karl Slover Dies At Age 93
There's an old adage that "short people live longer," and Karl Slover was a testament to that. The diminutive actor and singer, most famous for playing one of the Munchkins in "The Wizard of Oz," passed on yesterday at the age of 93.
The Associated Press reports that Slover, born Karl Kosiczky in what is now the Czech Republic in 1918, died of cardiopulmonary arrest at a hospital in Georgia. He was still appearing at events as recently as last week.
In addition to his most famous role as the first trumpeter to herald the Munchkin mayor's entrance, Slover had three other roles in the 1939 fantasy classic: a soldier, one of the sleepy heads, and one of the singers of "Follow the Yellow Brick Road." He was 21 at the time, the shortest of the Munchkins at 4-feet-4, making the mere 5-foot Judy Garland a towering giant in comparison. Get More »

My Favorite Movie: Lucy Punch
"I love 'The Wizard of Oz.' That was so magical, that film. I think I watched it, I don't know, 108 times!
"I first saw it when I was much younger, and then we were going to do a school production and I was cast as Dorothy. But then, for whatever reason, it got cancelled. Instead, I had to play the Pied Piper in the next production. Needless to say, I was devastated.
"Maybe that's why even today I love red shoes so much. It probably all goes back to childhood and dreaming of those ruby red slippers. Get More »
9 Other Fantasy Movie Characters Who Were Clearly Stoned
We here at NextMovie are expecting the new comedy, "Your Highness" to be a big ...hit.
