Jennifer Lawrence Goes All 'Hunger Games' On Her Oscar Competition

NBC

As most fans were hoping and expecting, Jennifer Lawrence delivered a cool and funny "Hunger Games" parody last night during her stint as host of "Saturday Night Live." But it was her opening monologue that really has people talking, as the Oscar nominee used the "SNL" stage to deliver some shots at her competition, including fellow Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain.

Hey, if there's one thing we know about Katniss Everdeen, it's that she plays for keeps. Get More »

Katniss Everdeen's Reign of Terror: First the Hunger Games, Now People's Choice

Elizabeth Banks as Effie and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss in The Hunger Games Lionsgate

Last night, the internet voting zombies people spoke and declared who and what they favored most from 2012's crop of films at the 2013 People's Choice Awards, and to the surprise of absolutely no one it was "The Hunger Games" which came out on top of the wins list.

"Hunger Games" snagged the win for Favorite Movie as well as Favorite Action Movie, Favorite Movie Franchise and Favorite On-Screen Chemistry. The film also garnered its now two-time Oscar-nominated leading actress Jennifer Lawrence a win for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Face of Heroism, which was great because her speech was - per usual - completely adorable. Behold! A First Glimpse of Finnick in 'Catching Fire'

EW

Finding Finnick Odair for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" was quite a formidable task for the filmmakers because, as with most literary hunks of note, fans have incredibly high standards for representation of the fictional bf. Peep Google Images' results for Finnick fan art, and you'll see what we mean.

Director Francis Lawrence plucked Sam Claflin of "Snow White and the Huntsman" esteem for the job of portraying the impossibly charming and handsome trident-wielding fella, and from the looks of this first-glimpse at Claflin in character, it was a wise decision. Get More »

Planet Fanboy's Best Moments of 2012

Columbia

2012 is all over and the Mayan prophecy killed us all. Luckily, we at Planet Fanboy slipped this into our system prior to the day we all died, so the cockroaches have something to read as they feast on our corpses. So pull up a seat, Scritchy and Scratchy, and learn about the year that was.

2012 opened nicely. Qui-Gon Jinn looked death in the eye and slowly let death win in "The Grey." But he did it in a very picturesque way while reciting poetry in his head, so it made for a terrific movie.

George Lucas finally let loose with his "Red Tails" project and it wasn't very good but we all got to shrug our shoulders and say "well, that is absolutely the last time George Lucas will make any news this year." Get More »

'Hunger Games' Star Josh Hutcherson Heading to 'Paradise Lost'

Getty Images

Remember that time when Vinnie Chase made that horrifyingly bad movie about Pablo Escobar and it bombed at Cannes  and nearly ruined the career of everyone involved on HBO's "Entourage"? Well, despite that cautionary TV tale, "Life of Pi" star Andrea di Stefano is intent on making a movie about the infamous Colombian drug lord happen, and he's now tapped "Hunger Games" hottie Josh Hutcherson to join the befitting Benicio del Toro for the flick.

Per Deadline, Stefano's "Paradise Lost" (not to be confused with Alex Proyas' Satanic flick) will feature del Toro as Escobar, with Hutcherson coming in for the leading role of Nick, an Irish surfer dude who visits his brother in Colombia and falls in love with a local woman named Maria only to discover she's the niece of the highly dangerous narcoterrorist. That's definitely a bit of bad luck. Get More »
