Variety reports that Sean "Samwise Gamgee" Astin will be joining Taryn Manning, Kevin Pollak and Johnathon Schaech in the indie thriller. "There are two movies that really stand out for me. The first is 'Purple Rain.'
"I mean, it was Prince! It was music! It was just, like, a totally awesome experience. Prince was my very first concert ever. My mom took me when I was five, and then she covered my eyes with her hands the whole time. I could still see though. It didn't work!
Prince became such an inspiration to me after that, so 'Purple Rain' really made a lasting impression.
