It ain't easy being a kid. And it's especially not easy being a kid who is growing up in the public spotlight like, say, Chloe Grace Moretz is. Just think about all the awkward, embarrassing moments of your own youth and then imagine them being plastered across the internet. Rough business.
So we can only imagine how gratifying it must have been for Moretz to step into the iconic role of Stephen King's "Carrie" and get a chance to enact some much deserved psychic payback against everyone who ever posted a nasty tweet about her.
Payback which you can get a first look at right here thanks to the new "Carrie" teaser. Get More »
UPDATE: It's back to the drawing board for Ron Howard and 'The Dark Tower" as Warner Bros. has officially passed on the proposed multi-tier project, according to Heat Vision.
The ultra-ambitious package, based on the series of western fantasy novels by Stephen King had Ron Howard attached to direct and Brian Grazer producing a script from Akiva Goldsman. It was to consist of three movies and two TV miniseries.
Universal turned down "The Dark Tower" last year and now Warner Bros. has followed suit - even with the extra added incentive of WB favorite Russell Crowe being mentioned for the lead role of Roland Deschain. Get More »
Welcome back to the world of horror, Mr. Long — we've missed you.
The "Drag Me to Hell" star is preparing for a triumphant return to the creepy-crawly genre as he's in talks to join the cast of "The Ten O'Clock People," according to Deadline.
"The Ten O'Clock People" follows Brandon Pearson (Long) as he attempts to quit smoking and the previously hidden — and terrifying — aspect of reality that he uncovers as he tries to kick. The film is based on a short story by Stephen King that was originally published in the 1993 anthology, "Nightmares and Dreamscapes." Get More »
Stephen King has been working on "The Dark Tower" in one form or another for over 40 years now, so fans of the series have learned to be pretty patient when it comes to the adventures of the gunslinger Roland and his companions.
And now it appears as though that patience may be paying off, as Empire is reporting that Ron Howard's epic film adaptation of "The Dark Tower" has just been given a second lease on life.
Here's hoping it doesn't take another four decades to work out the details. Get More »
In my last column, I wrote about 10 celebrity "Twilight" fans and how they have declared their love in public. Well, today takes a different turn. Let's head over to the dark side and out the celebrity "Twilight" haters.
Just yesterday, George Takei, voice actor extraordinaire and Hikaru Sulu in the "Star Trek" series, released a YouTube video urging "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" fans to put aside their differences and turn their attention toward hating "Twilight." While it's tongue-in-cheek and clearly an attempt to keep this 72-year-old actor's name in the media (mission accomplished), the vitriol he spews on our favorite vampire series seems to come from a very real place. In his eclectic filmography Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme has touched on some scary subjects, including serial killers ("Silence of the Lambs"), mind control ("The Manchurian Candidate"), and David Byrne in an oversized suit ("Stop Making Sense").
However, neither Hannibal Lecter nor Talking Heads could have prepared Demme to tackle the ultimate "psycho killer": Lee Harvey Oswald. Qu'est-ce que c'est? It's the new Stephen King book. Get More »
The bigger the dream, the harsher the wake-up call.
That's the lesson Ron Howard, Akiva Goldsmith and fans of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" are learning today, as Deadline is reporting that Universal Studios has just put the kibosh on the huge and hugely ambitious adaptation of the wildly popular sci-fi series of novels.
Looks like Roland's quest to reach the Dark Tower is going to drag on a little bit longer after all. Get More »
Prom's totally going to be ruined again.
Carrie White, the high school girl who was tormented by her fellow students and ultra-religious mother until she set them all on fire with her awesome telekinetic powers, is rising from the grave, according to Heat Vision.

"I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of 1959 -- a long time ago, but only if you measure in terms of years. I was living in a small town in Oregon called Castle Rock. There were only twelve hundred and eighty-one people, but to me it was the whole world."
Those are the first lines spoken by Richard Dreyfus as the wistful narrator of Rob Reiner's 1986 classic "Stand By Me" -- hitting Blu-ray with a 25th anniversary edition today -- and like all truly great opening lines it immediately sets the tone for what turned out to be one of the greatest coming-of-age films ever made.
For those of you yet to experience this masterpiece (shame on you!) it concerns four young boys on the cusp of adolescence who find out the body of a dead kid named Ray Brower is somewhere by the train tracks in a neighboring town. Get More »
Hey guys, remember when we told you about the new big screen adaptation of Stephen King's post-apocalyptic epic "The Stand?" Well, it looks like you weren't the only person scouring the internet for movie news, because there's someone else who was surprised to hear Hollywood was making a new version of the story.
In a new column for Entertainment Weekly, King reveals that he learned about the upcoming "Stand" movie the same way the rest of us did -- by reading rumors about it online. And let's just say he's not necessarily excited about it. Get More »
