With J.J. Abrams currently cooking up something for "Star Wars: Episode VII" nerdy minds the world over just can't help but linger in a galaxy far, far away all the live-long day. But it wasn't too long ago that the George Lucas faithful experienced this exact same sense of revival, as the Force creator himself wrote and helmed three new installments to his space franchise at the turn of millennium, answering once and for all what the what happened before "Episode IV" (a.k.a. the first one).
Lucas' prequels didn't resonate with his audience quite the same way the first trilogy did, however, so the fanfare surrounding his prequelogy died down quite a bit over the years. Don't look now, people, but 2013 just officially became 2013-D, as George Lucas has announced via the "Star Wars" Facebook page that "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" will be getting back-to-back 3-D re-releases next year.
