If Animated Movie Couples Were Live-Action Couples

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
20th Century Fox

Hollywood has often been described as "The Dream Factory," but when it comes to animated movies cartoonists can fudge the line between a dream romantic coupling and a laughable OkCupid date gone wrong.

Be it chunky monkey Ray Winstone sexing up Angelina Jolie in "Beowulf" or Meryl Streep winding up Mrs. George Clooney in "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" (which even she admitted was hilarious), there are many examples of said pairings — and here are ten more for you to fantasize about.

'The Lorax' Stars in Our Animation Color Wheel

Disney / Pixar / Universal / DreamWorks

You don't have to be a kidlet to love animated movies — actually, the jokes in ones like "The Incredibles" and "Despicable Me" are so sharp, we suspect the little ones might have been the secretly-secondary demo.

In fact, though we love our cartoon icons almost as much as their youngest fans — we draw the line at plush toys and bedsheets... usually — we'll admit that once in a great while, we've looked at a particularly great still of The Lorax and thought, "Man, that would be a great color for throw pillows." Cameron Diaz's 9 Best Moments

Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher
Sony

Few models-turned-actresses are worth their weight in gold... and not simply because you wouldn't receive that much gold in the first place. They may be pretty to look at, but oftentimes they don't hold a candle to a professional actress.

Cameron Diaz is a rare exception, transcending her conventional good looks to star in movies that span the spectrum of genres. Goofy comedies, hard dramas, animated fairy tales and the bizarre arthouse fare -- there are few projects Diaz can't pull off.

Her latest is the raunchy comedy "Bad Teacher," which once again shows off the actress' innate talents for making us laugh. In honor of her diverse career, here are nine moments that continue to stand out. Get More »

'Puss in Boots' Struts and Teases Fans With His First Trailer

DreamWorks

Everyone loves Shrek's pal, Puss in Boots.   We loved him so much that DreamWorks has given him his own solo spin-off film titled (naturally) "Puss in Boots."   The movie takes place before the events of "Shrek 2," and tells the story of just what the dashing cat was up to before he was hired to assassinate (but instead befriended) Shrek and Donkey.

DreamWorks debuted the first trailer today on Apple.  It doesn't reveal much of the story, but we're treated to the power of Puss as he struts, preens, and swashbuckles his way through a Spanish town.

And try not to think about how weird it is for a cat to be sexy, even if that cat is played by Antonio Banderas. Get More »

DreamWorks Planning Several Sequels To 'Panda', 'Dragon' and 'Madagascar'

"How to Train Your Dragon"
DreamWorks

If there's one thing DreamWorks knows, it's how to make a successful franchise.

The "Shrek" series is the fourth most successful film series of all time, ranking just below "Star Wars," "James Bond" and "Harry Potter." Now it looks as though the rest of their cuddly characters might join those ranks, as the studio has announced their plans to extend their animation sequel slate to a total of 13 films.

Yes, you read that right. 13.

Empire Online caught up with DreamWorks' chief Jeffery Katzenberg, who revealed that the studio plans to make four more "Madagascar" films, six more "Kung Fu Panda" stories, and at least four more installments of "How to Train Your Dragon." Get More »
