'The To-Do List' Cast Had It Hard on Many Levels

[From MTV News] Aubrey Plaza may deadpan her way through her TV life on "Parks and Recreation," but in her new flick "The To Do List," she's a little more adventurous.

In the August movie, Plaza plays a high school student wanting to check some sexual life experiences off her bucket list before graduating and hitting the college dating scene. Somewhere along the way, she spends some of the film, well, loving herself, and she had to go into a bit of a fantasy world in order to shoot the self-love scene in front of the movie's crew. My Favorite Movie: Scott Porter

"I would say the entirety of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy for me just pops because I read those books when I was 7, 8, 9 years old. I was done with the trilogy by the time I was 9 and I’ve re-read them so many times over the years. That and 'Big Trouble in Little China.'

"['Big Trouble'] is another childhood kind of memory. I know there are so many better films, greater films and just classic films.

"I just watched it 7,000 times when I was little. [John] Carpenter knew what he was doing in that movie, he knew exactly what it was. Kurt Russell knew exactly what they were doing, and there's something to be said when a movie knows what it is.

"And it was just, I don't know. The Pork Chop Express will stay with me forever."

Scott Porter stars in "10 Years," currently in theaters, and on television's "Hart of Dixie," which has its second season premiere on the CW on Oct. 2. He is most famous for his role as Jason Street on TV's "Friday Night Lights."

GALLERY: The '10 Years' Cast, 10 Years Ago

Attending a 10 year high school reunion is a bit like a time warp. People are the same, but they're not. They look the same, but, then again, they totally don't.

With "10 Years" arriving in theaters this Friday and rocking a class list we really wish we were on — from Channing Tatum and Justin Long to Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Rosario Dawson — we thought it'd be fun to see what the actors were up to just a decade ago. Some of it might surprise you, and some of it you probably already know.

Before you flip through our pseudo-yearbook: If you're looking for a glimpse at what the actors looked like in high school, check out the official "10 Years" Tumblr (but we promise this is no less humorous). And, lastly, you won't find Aubrey Plaza, one of the other awesome stars in this movie, in this gallery. We simply couldn't find any photos of her that pre-dated 2006, but it wasn't for lack of love or effort.

5 Questions With... 'X-Men Destiny' Voicer Scott Porter

Scott Porter isn't just a TV star – he's also a member of the X-Men.

But don't worry. You didn't miss the "Friday Night Lights" and "Hart of Dixie" star looming in the background in "X-Men: First Class" this summer. Instead, he's flexing his superhero muscles through his vocal chords in the new "X-Men Destiny" videogame that came out this week for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii.

In the game, he'll be introducing fans to a new mutant, Adrian Luca, who must make the age-old choice between joining up with the X-Men or helping to destroy the world with the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Thankfully, Porter's real-life choices aren't quite as epic. In fact, as the guy told us during San Diego Comic-Con, he's actually kinda funny. Get More »

Scott Porter: I'd Love to Sit In That Chair Again For a 'Friday Night Lights' Movie

Scott Porter may have a new show premiering next month, but that doesn't mean he's ready to move away from Dillon, Texas.

News of a movie spin-off of television's "Friday Night Lights" (based on a movie based on a book, based on something that happened in real life, of course) has been circling ever since the show finished its run on NBC a few weeks ago, and they've reached a fever pitch now that creator Peter Berg has confirmed a film in the works.

But who will be starting this game and who will be sitting on the bench? Get More »

Hollywood hotties Rosario Dawson and Lynn Collins are the latest classmates to sign on for "Ten Year," a drama about friends reuniting (you guessed it!) a decade after their graduation.

Dawson and Collins join co-stars Jenna Dewan, Kate Mara and Anna Faris to round out the female contingent of the group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brian Geraghty, Justin Long, Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt, Chris Pine, Anthony Mackie and Scott Porter comprise the (somewhat heftier) guys' side. Get More »
