Finding Finnick Odair for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" was quite a formidable task for the filmmakers because, as with most literary hunks of note, fans have incredibly high standards for representation of the fictional bf. Peep Google Images' results for Finnick fan art, and you'll see what we mean.
Director Francis Lawrence plucked Sam Claflin of "Snow White and the Huntsman" esteem for the job of portraying the impossibly charming and handsome trident-wielding fella, and from the looks of this first-glimpse at Claflin in character, it was a wise decision. Get More »
UPDATE: Sam Claflin ("Snow White and the Huntsman"), Eddie Redmayne ("Les Miserables"), Douglas Booth ("Noah") and Boyd Holbrook ("Hatfields & McCoys") are actually the ones screentesting for the role of Harry Osborn in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," according to Heat Vision.
So where all that talk of Dane DeHaan, Brady Corbet and Alden Ehrenreich came from is anyone's guess. Or maybe they tested first and they've all since been dropped from the running. We may never know.
Anyway, we just hope that J. Jonah Jameson's in this one.

That bunch knows how to sizzle before the camera. But did you know Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen) can also air-puppetteer her own face? Or that Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) can make an insane cricket chirping noise on cue? Or that Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) can perform magic tricks for a crowd? Get More »
Finnick Odair is that beautiful District 4 victor who has the Capitol's citizens in his pocket. He won the 65th Annual Hunger Games at just fourteen years old and was sent back into the Games in the Third Quarter Quell to compete with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and others. He - unbeknownst to some of his allies - plays a major part in carrying out the revolutionaries' big plan.
Finnick's an excellent swimmer, and his weapon of choice is the trident. Also, erm, he prefers to wear barely-there ensembles, which totally makes the ladies swoon, save Katniss, so prepare to see some serious ab action from Claflin in the film. Get More »

UPDATE: Variety now reports that Melissa Leo is not getting the part of Mags for "Catching Fire," even though she was on the studio's "shortlist" for the role.

MTV's Sneak Peek Week is in full swing and Kristen Stewart fans are in for a rare treat, as the "Twilight" superstar sat down for an in-depth interview with Josh Horowitz and spilled the beans about every detail of "Snow White and the Huntsman."
And that's not all she and co-star Sam Claflin talked about; besides "Snow White," "Twilight" and Robert Pattinson's latest film "Cosmopolis," Stewart also spoke about her role in "On the Road" as well as her reaction to... the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey?!"
Yes, it's a tour de force from MTV and KStew. So check it out. Because your mind is waiting to be blown and Sneak Peek Week is here to do it.
NextMovie and a handful of other journalists from across the country caught up with "Snow White and the Huntsman" stars Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin, thanks to the wonders of the Technology Age — or as we like to say, "The Future" — and chatted with the two about some of their experiences royal-ing it up on the London set of "Snow White." Get ready for your inner goddess to roar and explode.
"Erotica" is the stimulating new sub-series of "MTV After Hours," and host Josh Horowitz sends temperatures through the roof as he has the cast of "Snow White and the Huntsman" read select passages from E.L. James' tantalizing bestseller, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Not surprisingly, Charlize Theron adds her own blocking, Kristen Stewart delivers side commentary every fourth word or so and Sam Claflin goes for the calm and cool seduction. Meanwhile, it's all a bit too much for Chris Hemsworth, who's shocked to discover he's not really on MTV … but, rather, "Erotica."
See if you can stand it. You can pick up your own copy of "Fifty Shades of Grey" at your local bookstore — unfortunately, the "Snow White" cast doesn't provide the Audio Book recording.
