5 Spy-Approved Spy Movies
If you ask a real spook, most mainstream spy movies range from the ludicrous to the eerily realistic.
Or at least, that's what American intelligence veterans told us at the International Spy Museum recently. According to them, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" (now out on DVD) falls squarely in the middle: Most of the gadgets -- even those that fail -- are more fact than fiction, and the quick-witted way the team works together gets a thumbs up; but the Kremlin exploding and the climbing of the Burj Khalifa is pure fantasy. After some discussion, it seemed there was one spy film that all of them could agree was tops: "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," based on John le Carré's best-selling novel.
As for what doesn't work: any movie that focuses on graphic, widespread violence, maniacal agents or drop-dead-gorgeous vixens. "I've always been upset that most spy movies show spies as deranged assassins out there trying to off the American public!" said Jonna Mendez, former Chief of Disguise, aka "a real-life Q."
Here are five spy movies that the real-life spies found worth watching. Get More »
Conspiracy Cop Files 'Safe House' Lawsuit
Move over, Sarah Deming*, because there's another crazy lawsuit in Tinseltown.
Apparently, the twisty turny CIA thriller "Safe House" was so similar to Marty Christopher Lawson's life that he's suing Universal to stop distributing the movie. "Safe House" came out on February 10... so he's a little slow on the draw, it seems. Get More »
Box Office Gridlock: Three Films In Virtual Tie For First
This week's box office winner is still up in the air thanks to a three way virtual tie for first place, with "The Vow," "Safe House" and "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" battling it out for the top spot.
Holdovers "Safe House" ($23.9 million) and "The Vow" ($23.6 million) appeared to have a slight edge over newcomer "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" ($22 million), but with the figures still being estimates at this point, any one of the three could emerge victorious when all is said and done.

'The Vow' Fulfills Its Box Office Promise
"The Vow" is officially a wow, as the Rachel McAdams romcom about a woman who develops amnesia and has to fall in love with her husband again destroyed the pre-Valentine's Day box office, earning $41.7 over it's first weekend of release.
"Safe House," which stars Denzel Washington as a CIA operative gone rogue, also opened huge, taking in an impressive $39.3 million, while "Journey 2" and "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 3D" both topped the $20 million mark in one of the busiest box office weekends in February history.

So what does this all mean? It means you should cozy up to our latest Hot People Looking Hot gallery and feel secure in the fact that the guy doesn't know how to look bad.
GALLERY: Stars Lock Up the 'Safe House' Premiere
Have you ever seen so many wanted celebrities?
Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Vera Farmiga and many more looked positively arresting on the red carpet of the New York premiere of "Safe House," the new action thriller in which a rookie CIA agent (Reynolds) is assigned to guard a dangerous fugitive (Washington). Things spiral out of control pretty much from the get-go after mercenaries attack the safe house, putting the agent and his prisoner on the run.
Oddly enough, "Safe House" isn't directed by Tony Scott.
Check out our gallery of pics from the premiere at the ever-classy Ziegfeld Theater, and check out "Safe House" when it hits theaters on Feb. 10.
Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds Take Shelter in 4 'Safe House' Clips
No one is safe in the "Safe House," with Ryan Reynolds as Matt Weston, a young buck CIA agent looking to prove his worth when notorious criminal mastermind Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) is brought into his charge. The two go on the run together, and Weston has to play some mind games to figure out whether Frost or his own CIA bosses are the real bad guys.
A white-knuckle shaky-cam thrill ride in the "Bourne" mold, "Safe House" proves that Reynolds can go head-on with Bond in the intensity department, and Washington is his usual icy, charismatic self. Get More »
