The 25 Coolest People in Movies
Getty Images
What does it mean to be cool? It's pretty damn subjective. So when compiling our list of the 25 coolest people making movies right now (somebody had to do it, right?), we accounted for various factors.
These are the actors who not only impress us onscreen (though that helps), but convey a certain genuineness off it, be it at awards shows, on TV appearances or during our own personal experiences interviewing them. They can be multi-talents, also excelling at music, art or writing. And they can make a habit of turning up in hilarious viral videos or even at your local karaoke bar.
But most of all, these are the 25 actors we'd really just like to sit down and have a beer with.

RZA and Tarantino Reunite For 'Django Unchained'
RZA is heading south with Quentin Tarantino.

In a recent interview with XXL, RZA dished some details on the project, and it sounds like it's moving into high gear. Not only that, it's attracted the attention of "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan and actor Eddie Griffin. Get More »

Russell Crowe to Face the 36 Chambers of Death
Sometimes, the news that crosses our desk is so outright strange that there's no way to present it other than straight on, like a big slug of whiskey to your brain.
So grit your teeth and poung this one back: it appears Russell Crowe has just signed on to star in a new kung-fu movie being directed by Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA.
Our mind, it is blown.
Solo Acts: Our 13 Favorite Single-Artist Soundtracks
For "Black Swan," director Darren Aronofsky trusted longtime collaborator Clint Mansell to fill out the whole soundtrack. The upcoming film "Blue Valentine," meanwhile, is scored entirely by indie rock band Grizzly Bear.
And then, of course, there's Daft Punk's creation for the upcoming "TRON: Legacy."
But these defy movie soundtrack conventions. The majority of the great ones are more like mixtapes (yeah, we're referencing you, Zach Braff), made by director for his girlfriend film. It is sweet, but impersonal.
So when a director collaborates with only one musician to build the soundtrack, it's like a boyfriend writing and recording an entire album for and inspired by his girlfriend. With that in mind, here are our 13 favorite single-artist soundtracks. Get More »
