Ewan McGregor is looking to play the bad guy again, following his sleazy turn earlier this year in "Haywire." Deadline reports that the "Trainspotting" star is set to star in "Son of a Gun," an Australia crime thriller that chronicles the complex relationship between a notorious criminal (McGregor) and his young protege. That's not all for McGregor — he'll also be joining Kate Hudson for the showbiz comedy, "Born to Be King," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Penelope Cruz is going to teach us about clothes ... and murder! The "Bandidas" beauty is in talks to star in "Gucci," a drama about the Italian family behind the legendary clothing brand in which she would play Patrizia Reggiani, who was jailed for 29 years for allegedly ordering the 1995 murder of her ex-husband and heir to the family empire, Maurizio Gucci. According to Deadline, the crazy busy thespian has added "The Grace That Keeps This World" to his insane schedule, a family drama co-starring Brit Marling and Glenn Close that follows a father and his sons as they prepare for the upcoming hunting season.
• Michelle Williams, whom we haven't seen on the big screen since "My Week With Marilyn," is in talks to star in "Suite Francaise" for English director Saul Dibb ("The Duchess"). Williams would be playing, according to Variety, "a spirited young woman in occupied France who falls for a German officer and must choose between love and her country." She'll probably find a way to choose both.
• The con is on with Ben Affleck! Deadline reports that the "Argo" man is in talks to star in "Focus," the tale of a grifter who falls in love with a female up-and-comer — a recipe for heartbreak when one's in the business of cheating and lying. Get More »

Ryan Reynolds Is the Headliner for 'Highlander'
Some things are worth the wait ... like finding out that heartthrob Ryan Reynolds has officially been cast in the lead role for "Highlander."
The sci-fi fantasy, which will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (of "28 Weeks Later" and "Intruders" fame), is shaping up to be one action-packed adventure, the Tracking Board reports.
