17 Movie Stars Get Animated

The Croods DreamWorks

Practically every mega-star in Hollywood has gotten animated.

Tom Hanks was a toy. George Clooney was a fox. Eddie Murphy was an ass a donkey. And in the prehistoric adventure "The Croods,"  Emma Stone, Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds play a cavegirl, a caveman and a caveboy, respectively.

We wondered what these stars would look like as animated people rather than as, you know, animals and neanderthals and stuff. Thanks to these 17 portraits, we've replaced our wondering with works of art. Get More »

Forget 'Sarah Marshall,' Here's Russell Brand Instead!

Let's face it: Ever since he and Katy Perry broke up, Russell Brand has been a bit lost in the wilderness. Which is why we're so happy to see the old Russell on full display in his audition tape for "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Get More »

The 25 Best Music Performances in Movies

Pitch Perfect Universal

Actors are trained to be able to portray just about anything their role calls for, but there's one thing even the best actors can't possibly fake: Singing.

That's why we're always so impressed when actors sing on screen rather than just lip-synch some professional musician. Case in point: Next week's "Pitch Perfect," which features stars such as Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson belting out tunes like the divas they were meant to be. Get More »

Russell Brand Vs. Peter Pan: The Battle of The Century Begins Now

Disney

Yo ho, yo ho, it's a pirate's life for Russell Brand.

That's because Brand has joined the long list of celebrities who have posed for photographer Annie Leibovitz in her ongoing, and increasingly awesome, Disney Dream Portrait series, which casts stars as famous Disney characters. Brand's choice? "Peter Pan" nemesis Captain Hook.

We knew Katy Perry had given him the hook, but we didn't realize he was going to take it so literally. Get More »

'Cupid,' God of Desire and Erotic Love, Is ... Russell Brand

Even though he's going through a divorce, don't ever say that Russell Brand doesn't believe in love.

The "Rock of Ages" star will soon have to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow as he signs on to play the title role in "Cupid," according to Variety.

"Cupid" takes a contemporary meta approach to the myth of the Roman god of affection, with Brand playing a deity who's grown cynical and embittered ... and who's forced to finagle an ideal romance. We assume this new "assignment" will put a spring back in his own stride. Get More »

Russell Brand Says Bonjour to 'Pierre, Pierre'

Russell Brand's most famous attribute — other than being tremendously skinny, sort of scuzzy, kind of obnoxious and Katy Perry's ex-husband — is his British accent. But at least one of those things is about to undergo a radical change, as according to Variety, Brand has just signed on to star in the upcoming comedy "Pierre Pierre."

How exactly do you say "restraining order" in French, anyway? Get More »

Video Q&A: Katy Perry on California Dreaming and Russell Brand

Katy Perry has always dreamt big, so it's no surprise the pop star is seeing her dreams play out on the big screen in the intimate new 3-D documentary "Katy Perry: Part of Me."

"When I was a 19-year old girl, [I] just moved to Los Angeles and I had this dream, like I knew exactly what I wanted to do," Perry tells us in the video above. "I guess I foreshadowed my future in some ways."

What she didn't anticipate, though, was her marriage to actor Russell Brand slowly falling apart during filming. With the cameras rolling, Perry can be seen uncontrollably backstage before a performance.

"If you were to have seen that movie without even a mention of it, you would be a bit confused, I think, and it would be silly and ignorant of me to think I could have completely avoided it."

Fans can get a full-on 3-D experience of the pop singer's highs and lows when "Katy Perry: Part of Me" hits theaters July 5.

Russell Brand Gives Parliament the Straight Dope

It's safe to say that Russell Brand knows a thing or two about drugs, but instead of dwelling on the past, he's using his dark history of addiction to help others: By asking the British government to make drugs legal.

Trust us, it makes more sense when he says it.

Appearing before members of the British Parliament's House of Commons yesterday, Brand explained in detail to the government why he believes that, rather than arrest people for owning and using drugs, they should be helping those people seek treatment for their addiction. Get More »
