Paul Rudd Has an 'Admission' to Make

Paul Rudd, who has been on a roll lately, has just landed another one — a role, that is. Word around Tinseltown is that the funny guy du jour is gearing up to headline "Admission," directed by Paul Weitz (of "American Pie" and "About a Boy" fame).

If this deal goes through, Rudd would replace Owen Wilson, who had been previously circling the comedy.

Though story details remain sparse, the story follows an unmarried college admissions counselor (played by none other than Tina Fey) who meets a man she went to school with, but never really knew (Rudd). Get More »

The last time filmmaker Paul Weitz and indie-folk musician Damon Gough (a.k.a. Badly Drawn Boy) teamed up, it was on 2002's adaptation of Nick Hornby's "About a Boy." Ten years on, it's still considered by many of Gough's fans to be some of his finest work.

Paul Dano Has A One-Way Ticket To 'Suck City'

Since the middle of the last decade, writer/director Paul Weitz ("American Pie," "About a Boy") has been scrambling to adapt Nick Flynn's bestselling memoir "Another Bullsh*t Night In Suck City." After two unfortunate misfires ("American Dreams," "The Vampire's Assistant") it looked like all might be lost for Weitz and his pet project.

Then along comes something called "Little Fockers," and if ever there was such a thing as a "Get out of jail free!" card for directors, that is it. During promotion for the blockbuster comedy, Weitz said he was hoping to cast that film's Robert De Niro, and now word has been confirmed that the Raging Bull will indeed co-star in the pic along with "There Will Be Blood's" Paul Dano. Tina Fey's Latest 'Admission'

Funny girl extraordinaire Tina Fey is in the final talks to star in "Admission," based on a novel by Jean Hanff Korelitz.

Paul Weitz—hot off the $125 million (and counting) success of "Little Fockers"—is set to direct the film, which concerns an admissions officer at Princeton and her relationship with a prospective student who may not be Ivy League material.

The Emmy-winning Fey would be the admissions officer in question, but there's no word yet on what lucky soul will play the part of Ivy hopeful. Get More »
