Real-Life 'Pain & Gain' Star Wants to Be Your Pen Pal

WriteAPrisoner.com WriteAPrisoner.com

If you didn't already know, Michael Bay's recent "Pain & Gain" crime thriller fest was based on a series of actual events which took place down there in Miami, Florida in the mid-'90s. So, those buffed-up baddies portrayed so well by Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Anthony Mackie were real-life thugs ... and their crimes actually happened, too.

Mackie's Adrian "Noel" Doorbal, for example, was convicted in '98 of a plethora of ills, not the least of which were two counts of murder. So, he's not exactly some teddy bear in the flesh. But if you happen to feel so inclined as to shoot the real death row-bound perp a letter, it's doable. Get More »

Hot People Looking Hot: Dwayne Johnson Photos

He's walked tall, been cool and felt the need for speed in "Faster" and "Fast Five." Now, 2013 is truly the Year of the Rock, with the WWE Champion appearing in no less than five feature films.

We begin this week with the release of "Snitch," in which he plays the greatest dad in the world. Five weeks later, he'll be fighting for freedom in the "G.I. Joe" sequel (March 29), and four weeks after that he'll be robbing from the rich in Michael Bay's "Pain and Gain." (April 26). That's not all — four weeks after that, he'll be feeling that need for speed again with "Fast & Furious 6" (May 24). You'd think he'd take a vacation after all that, but no, he'll also be investigating an armored car heist in "Empire State," which will probably hit theaters this fall.

Let's get the Year started with hotness, shall we?

Michael Bay Gains Rebel Wilson For 'Pain'

After years of cranking out rock 'em sock 'em "Transformers" blowouts, Michael Bay is finally seizing the chance to rebel.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Aussie comedienne/scene stealer Rebel Wilson is stuck between The Rock and a hard place as she joins Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg in Bay's bodybuilder crime drama "Pain and Gain."

Wilson apparently landed on Bay's radar (Baydar?) after she became the other plus-size sensation besides Melissa McCarthy to gain some "Bridesmaids" traction as Brynn, the oddball roommate of Kristen Wiig who mistook her diary for "a very sad handwritten book." Get More »
