Blooming Rose: Byrne to Join 'X-Men: First Class'
Rose Byrne is about to add another feather to her growing cinematic cap: action.
The 31-year-old Aussie has been meeting with director Matthew Vaughn, and, according to the Hollywood Reporter, it looks like a done deal. She'll be playing Moira MacTaggert, a genetic-mutation specialist, in Fox's "X-Men: First Class."
For those without their fanboy handbooks, Moira is the love interest of mutant telepath Charles Xavier (James McAvoy).
Byrne is best known for her roles in serious fare like "Troy" and "28 Days Later," as well as her Emmy-nominated turn as Glenn Close's protégé in TV's dark and twisty "Damages." Get More »
