Any excuse to show large, bouncing breasts is a good one. If one needs proof of this theory, "Piranha 3DD" is coming this Friday to a theater near you.

Not that we're dismissing the premise of this more fully developed sequel to its 2010 predecessor, the flatly named "Piranha 3D." It's completely plausible that killer fish could infiltrate a water park and that David Hasselhoff could star in a classy movie. It's just that both scenarios are highly unlikely.

The more tenable conclusion is that this horror-comedy is merely an excuse to show stacked chicks in bikinis running towards your face in 3-D. We sure hope it is, because it gives us the perfect opportunity to do something similar. So, without further ado, onward to our shameless pictorial of breasts with some sentences beneath them that no one will ever read.

20th Century Fox]]> When you think about Woody Allen films, your mind doesn't exactly leap to thoughts of lust. But that's been changing of late, and in no small part owing to Johansson, whose hard-to-miss shape has been putting the "erotic" back into the "neurotic" Woody's cinematic vocabulary.

Focus Features]]> While Hayek's portrayal of legendary artist and unibrow holdout Frida Kahlo won her acting abilities critical acclaim, it's Hayek's two hidden "talents" that often steal the show (though that unibrow gave them a run for their money). And this light-hearted Western, set south of the border, enthusiastically exposes these hidden talents to the world.

20th Century Fox]]> Perhaps the makers of this poorly conceived and subsequently ill-received Batman spinoff were too distracted by Berry's amazing tatas to concentrate on such matters as plot, acting and directing. We totally sympathize. Who among us could concentrate on any complicated tasks after watching "Monster's Ball"?

Warner Bros.]]> Costarring opposite her cleavage, Connelly is superb in this charmingly titillating comedy about a dorky everyman (Frank Whaley) locked overnight in a department store with the girl of his dreams. Admittedly, however, after endless shots of Connelly -- and her ample buxom -- roller-skating down aisles and riding one of those mechanical ponies that go up and down, little else can be recalled.

Universal]]> Tilly has made a career of playing the ditzy broad with a Rubenesque body and voice like a dolphin with a head cold. And she always steals the show, whether opposite Jim Carrey ("Liar, Liar") or a homicidal doll. It's the rare actress who can so handily turn such a dramatic chest into such a comedic asset.

Universal]]> When casting for Lara Croft, hero of the film version of "Tomb Raider" -- a video game that gave joy and comfort to millions of horny, dateless boys and men over the years -- the producers knew they needed to find an actress with a certain set of ... What was it ...? Acting skills? The ability to speak coherently? A heartbeat? Oh, right: breasts. She needed great breasts. And they cast it perfectly.

Paramount]]> Back in the '90s, Pamela Anderson's inflated boobs were the most recognized mammaries on the planet, and it seemed like a good idea to make them into a movie. And if you think that sounds like a good idea, you'll love "Barb Wire." It's possibly the only film ever made in which the star's knockers are released from their shirt -- and sprayed with water -- before the opening credits are even done rolling.

Gramercy Pictures]]> This ginger-haired "Mad Men" sensation has always been too much woman for the TV screen to handle, which is why it was a natural fit for her to fill the big screen in "Drive." Playing a sleazy gangster's girl in this slick indie crime film, Hendricks perfectly channels the voluptuous cinema vamps of the '40s, while her chest finally has amble screen acreage to do ... what it does.

FilmDistrict]]> The former Playboy Playmate's acting skills have never been in finer form than when she opened this parody of "Scream" (also a parody) with a satire of that ubiquitous slasher-movie scene we know all too well. Running from her killer, she somehow manages to lose all of her clothing, conveniently leaving her wearing only a bra and panties as she's sprayed with sprinklers in slowmo. It was the part she was born to play.

Dimension Films]]> This "Modern Family" hottie has been on a roll, slaying audiences in both the theaters and on TV with her comic prowess and killer body. When modern-day songstress Fergie sang about "lovely lady lumps," Sofia's girls were, no doubt, the sort she had in mind.

Warner Bros.]]> Before DD, there was B.C., the old school exploitation film/educational tool that taught impressionable young men little-known facts about ancient times, such as: bikinis were originally made of fur, giant spiders were a constant nuisance, and Lady Gillette razors were apparently in wide use. Although Welch had only three lines in the film, the role turned the sultry cavewoman's prehistoric boulders into national treasures.

Hammer Film Productions]]> Think you're too much of a manly man to take in a Broadway show? Well you might want to try expanding your horizons when your wife rents this film version of the musical "Nine," wherein Cruz's sultry Spanish spice rack performs quite a duet beneath her lacy lingerie. And if that ain't enough to get your attention: Did we mention that one Dame Judi Dench makes an appearance as well?

Weinstein Company]]> This queen of country music and crossover superstar has the pipes of a song bird, the face of an angel and a pair of boobs that affect the tides when she approaches any coastline (which is why she's legally prohibited from leaving Tennessee, where she rules Dollywood with an iron perm).

Also new this week is Madonna in the director's seat for the period romance "W.E.," the ensemble rom-com "New Year's Eve," and new Blu-ray editions of "Clueless" and "Men in Black."

Storyline: Steven Soderbergh casts MMA fighter Gina Carano as an assassin named Mallory who works for a private firm employed by the U.S. government for covert assignments. Mallory is set up by the firm's director (Ewan McGregor), and she hunts him down to even the score in this action flick costarring Michael Fassbender, Bill Paxton, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas and Michael Douglas.
Extras! The DVD and Blu-ray contain "Gina Carano in Training," which shows the military training Carano went through so she could portray a believable spy.
We Say: Soderbergh said he saw Carano fight and said, "Someone needs to fashion a movie around this girl," which is exactly what he does here with impressive results. The movie has an all-star cast but succeeds mostly because Carano is doing all of her own stunts, selling the belief that Mallory could really beat the hell out of any guy.

'W.E.'

Storyline: Madonna directs this romantic drama about the lives of two passionate women separated by more than 60 years. In 1998, Wally Winthrop (Abbie Cornish) researches the relationship between King Edward VII (James D'Arcy) and American Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) and discovers their storybook romance was not as perfect as once thought.
Extras! The only bonus feature is "The Making of 'W.E.,'" which features Madge in full-on directrix mode.
We Say: It might have earned an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Costume Design, but that is the only reason to see this pretentious vanity project directed by a pop singer still desperately seeking validation on the big screen.

'New Year's Eve'

Storyline: Director Garry Marshall's latest holiday-themed romantic comedy with a large ensemble cast (Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Ludacris, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and more) depicts the state of several intertwining romances during the titular holiday.
Extras! The huge cast shares their best and worst holiday celebrations, resolutions and memories that impacted their lives in "New Year's Eve Secrets of the Stars" on both the DVD and Blu-ray.
We Say: This characteristically schmaltzy and artificially sentimental rom-com from Marshall earned five Razzie nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actress (Parker), Worst Screenplay and Worst Ensemble.

Storyline: Loosely based on Jane Austen's "Emma," this 1995 comedy by Amy Heckerling features a breakout performance by Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, a sweet-natured but superficial ding-a-ling with unresolved feelings for her ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd). Cher adopts a "tragically un-hip" girl at school (Brittany Murphy) and tries to play matchmaker in between, you know, shopping and avoiding the freeway.
Extras! This Blu-ray debut contains one exclusive feature: the "Clue or False Trivia Game" that pops up challenging questions during the movie.
We Say: You're going to pass this one by? As if! This likable romp also features one of the late Murphy's most memorable performances.

'Men in Black' Blu-ray

Storyline: K (Tommy Lee Jones) recruits J (Will Smith) to be part of a federal agency that investigates and monitors all alien-related activity on Earth in this blockbuster sci-fi comedy. The unlikely duo uncovers an intergalactic plot to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies who happen to reside in New York City.
Extras! Although otherwise identical to the previous "Men in Black" Blu-ray release, this new version has a code for an Ultraviolet copy so you can stream the movie from the cloud service to any compatible portable device.
We Say: The ridiculous-looking extra-terrestrials and terrific chemistry between the dry Jones and hip-hop cop Smith seems even better in high definition, and making us hope this summer's "Men in Black 3" recaptures some of the fun.

Lea Michele might be full of glee, but for an entirely different reason, because the Broadway-turned-TV star is in talks to reprise her leading role in the movie adaptation of the hit musical "Spring Awakening."

Though discussions are still the early stages, they seem to have promise. "We're talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we'll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee]," the flick's director, McG (no, not his given name) told E Online.

He continued to gush, "I love Lea; we've talked about it… When I first got turned onto the show she was in it so it's her voice that echoes in my heart. I really think she's wonderful and we'll see where it takes us."

The show, which nabbed eight Tony Awards, is based on an 1891 German play of the same name and centers around a group of teenagers dealing with everything from abortion, to rape, to suicide, to masturbation and even some S&M. You know, basic teenage stuff—actually, maybe not so much.

Michele stepped onto the silver screen last year with a small part in Garry Marshall's "New Year's Eve," and has an upcoming gig as the voice of Dorothy in the animated "Dorothy of Oz," but "Spring Awakening" would mark her first time as a leading lady in a feature film. It's a big step, but we think Rachel Berry's ready.

Paramount]]> The fifth time's still a charm for Walker and Brewster, who've been fast and furious with each other for more than 10 years in the high-octane franchise. Even a decade after their first steamy kiss, the gear-head couple remains irresistibly sexy.

Universal]]> Even surrounded by striking actors like Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey and Tyrese Gibson, plucky Everyman LaBeouf still scores the undying affection of his gorgeous genius girlfriend, played by the former Victoria's Secret model. With his comedic chops and her propensity for walking around in her underwear, they make quite the appealing duo..

Paramount We know Lawrence's Mystique spends the majority of the prequel pining for James McAvoy's Charles Xavier or flirting with Nicholas Hoult's brainy Beast, but the blue sparks don't start to fly until she finally hooks up with Fassbender's Magneto. Young mutant love has never looked hotter.

20th Century Fox]]> Mara's fierce titular character exudes an untameable sexuality: She simply looks at someone and instantly transfixes the man -- or woman -- of her desire. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's" stranglehold on the box office was finally broken this weekend, with the new ensemble romantic comedy "New Year's Eve" taking over the top spot with an estimated $13.7 million.

"Twilight" fans shouldn't be too grumpy, though; as Hollywood.com reports, the vampire wedding video still earned enough to take the third spot with $7.9 million, bringing its domestic total to nearly $260 million in less than a month.

Unlike some of his other geriatric contemporaries, 77-year-old director Garry Marshall of "Pretty Woman" and "Valentine's Day" fame still knows what audiences want these days: STARS, baby, STARS!!! And stars he has for his latest date-movie destination, "New Year's Eve."

This time around, the funny filmmaker has marshaled (get it?) a swarm of talent to ring in the new to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne." Those on the glossy roster include Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, and a few of the folks you'll see in the following clips.

If you thought "New Year's Eve" had an impressive cast, wait until you see the star-studded ensemble of Funny or Die's romantic holiday comedy, "Christmas Day." Usual suspects like Julia Roberts and Zac Efron are here, but even Charlie Chaplin and the Pixar Lamp make appearances in this epic feel-good tearjerker-thing.

Sure, there are some misspellings in the all-star lineup (Keira Knightly?) but, just as Cameron Diaz doesn't have time for sex, who has time for Celebrity Spellcheck when there's love in the air?

Funny or Die makes us realize that it's just a matter of time before these holiday-themed ensemble comedies get the "Not Another..." spoof treatment. Celebrate the most wonderful (and narratively exhausting) day of the year below.

When I heard that Zac Efron was going to be New York today promoting "New Years Eve" on various different morning television shows like the "Today" show and "Live! With Kelly Ripa," it was a no-brainer.

I was going to meet Zac if my life depended on it.

Needless to say I set my alarm (for 4:30 a.m.  – yuck!) last night and was fully prepared to go to any necessary extreme today to see Zac's beautifully coifed hair up close and in person.

The morning didn't exactly get off to a great start. I slept through my alarm's loud music and obnoxious beeping until 5:30 a.m., setting me back an hour. For those of you that haven't experienced "Today"'s Rockefeller Center set, every morning at 6:30, they open the barricaded area around the plaza to a waiting crowd of fans and tourists. So I only had one hour to get ready and get to the plaza in time to find an spot on the barricade that would give me the best possible chance for a picture with Zac.

Oh, and did I mention it was pouring outside?

For a brief moment, I considered admitting defeat and staying home. But this was my Zac Efron day, rain or shine.

I arrived at Rockefeller Center at 6:45 and, of course, the poncho and umbrella covered crowd had already been let into the plaza, but there weren't many of them. Still, between the rain and unusually small crowd, chances of Matt Lauer bringing the guests outside were minimal. I was seriously missing my warm, dry bed when I stepped into a deli to grab cup of coffee and reassess my plan.

I took a risk and ditched the plaza, opting to hang out by the lobby entrance to the studio instead. Hiding under my umbrella, I crossed my fingers and hoped for a real Disney miracle.

At 8:15, a big black SUV pulled up and the handful of photographers who had been hiding around the corner all started to shuffle towards it. Assuming it was Zac arriving, I made sure I had my camera in hand and ready to go, and waited patiently for him to get out of the SUV and head my way.

When a bunch of people got out of the car, none of whom were Zac, I was pretty bummed ... until I saw Michelle Pfeiffer step up onto the sidewalk. She was surrounded by everyone who had gotten out of the car before her, and her head was down which told me she didn't want to be bothered as she made her way in the building, but it was still amazing! It's not every day Michelle Pfeiffer walks passed you, you know.

My excitement escalated when a town car pulled up and the photographers started to shuffle forward again. This time it was actually Zac! In the flesh! As dreamy as you would imagine! Even in the rain, his hair was perfect.

He gave the photographers a quick wave and headed for the door, but not before taking a quick moment to stop and snap a picture with me. I told him how excited I am to see "New Years Eve."

"That's awesome," he said. "Thanks so much for coming out in the rain this morning."

Sigh.

And now it's naptime for me. I'll surely be having sweet dreams though.

The closing of the year came early for Hollywood as several party guests lined up along the red carpet to celebrate the premiere of the ensemble romantic comedy, "New Year's Eve."

New Year's Eve: It's either a time to celebrate renewal and the hope that comes with a new year, or a time to gripe about "Amateur Hour" as you dodge puddles of alcohol-induced puke on the sidewalk. We're guessing the upcoming ensemble rom-com "New Year's Eve" from director Gary Marshall ("Valentine's Day") is going to be taking the former route rather than the latter, so it stands to reason that the soundtrack would be stocked full of uplifting party anthems that would fit right in on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. And so it is.

Most of the music here is licensed, so you'll have heard it before - P!nk's ubiquitous "Raise Your Glass" retains its pop charms, although we're wondering if it'll fully have worn out its welcome by the time Dec. 31 rolls around. We also get a visit from the Goo Goo Dolls (remember them?) with "Better Days," and what's sure to be the commercially-approved anthem of the actual New Year's Eve this year, "2012 (It Ain't the End)" by Sean Jay and Nicki Minaj.

In terms of new stuff ... well, there's not much. We do get contributions from two of the movie's stars: Jon Bon Jovi contributes his classic "Have a Little Faith in Me," which seems written specifically to soundtrack a romantic comedy, and Lea Michele of "Glee" takes a turn on the New Year's Eve standy "Auld Lang Syne." Then, the two team up for a cover of Otis Redding's "Can't Turn You Loose." It certainly lacks some of Otis's soul, but the duo really puts their all into it.

All in all, the "New Year's Eve" soundtrack is full of the kind of song you really want to get annoyed with, but can't help enjoying - which is kind of like New Year's Eve, itself.

Could they have stood to include at least one song about getting hammered on champagne? Probably. But you could do worse than this for a party playlist come the end of the year.

Whether it's creepers getting down under the mistletoe or trying to catch a cab home with a case of the champagne hiccups, New Year's Eve has the tendency to be a bit of a s#!tshow.

Even if the soundtrack for your evening ends up being the sound of drunken revelry, you can still have a perfect holiday, thanks to Garry Marshall's upcoming comedy "New Year's Eve," the soundtrack listings for which were announced today.

The movie, which stars Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Hilary Swank, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jon Bon Jovi, Zac Efron, Josh Duhamel, Jon Bon Jovi, Katherine Heigl and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, to name a few, has an equally star-studded soundtrack featuring some of the film's stars, much like Marshall's 2010 ensemble comedy "Valentine's Day."

The soundtrack includes songs from cast members Lea Michele and Jon Bon Jovi, who perform both individual songs as well as a duet together, as well as tracks from P!nk, Jay Sean featuring Nicki Minaj, Duncan, Sophie B. Hawkins and the Goo Goo Dolls.

"New Year's Eve" hits theaters on Dec. 9.

David Gordon Green ("Pineapple Express") already gave us his irreverent take on sword and sorcery with "Your Highness," but decided to double-dip this year by casting Jonah Hill in an F-bomb-laden riff on "Adventures in Babysitting." With Hill still in his pre-"21 Jump Street" chunk-style glory, he's given free rein to watch over three kids with the kindness and sensitivity you'd expect from the screen's most slovenly man-child. Car chases, explosions, and drug deals gone wrong ensue.

Remember when spy movies didn't have to have shaky cams, car chases, or Matt Damon beating up dudes with books? We needed a flick like this to remind us of the pleasures a ripping slow-burn thriller can bring. Gary Oldman plays George Smiley, a former British intelligence spook brought out of fruitless retirement to smoke out a mole during the height of the Cold War. Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson, whose "Let the Right One In" was one of the best movies of the last decade, makes his English-language debut.

If you prefer your humor less juvenile and more caustic, Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody, the team that made "Juno," might have just the thing for you. A pitch-black comedy if there ever was one, this stars Charlize Theron as an insanely self-centered woman who returns to her hometown hellbent on getting her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson) back. Patton Oswalt costars as Theron's crony, and if the trailer is any indication, this will be one twisted ride through Delusionville.

'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' (Dec. 16)

The game is afoot once again as Holmes and ever-faithful Dr. Watson are pulled into another web of intrigue, woven by the sleuth's archnemesis Professor Moriarty. Jared Harris, the token Brit from TV's "Mad Men," beat out a slew of potential Moriartys (including Daniel Day-Lewis) for the part; and it's a testament to director Guy Ritchie that he cast a great actor, as opposed to a star, in the plum villain role. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law's quippy chemistry will make this a must-see.

Meryl Streep's inner demons clearly won't be satisfied until she becomes the first woman to receive a thousand Oscar nominations, and is also crowned first Emperor of Mars. Okay, so maybe Streep doesn't want to run a planet, but she is playing one of the most powerful political figures of the 20th century, UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher. The great Jim Broadbent costars as Thatcher's stalwart husband/First Gentleman Denis.

Tom Cruise wants to be young again real bad, and he's gonna rappel down the world's tallest building -- the Burj Khalifa -- to prove it. We get it, Tom, you're super intense! Chill! Brad Bird, genius animator behind "The Incredibles," makes his live-action debut with a fourquel that brings back series regulars (Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames) and positions Jeremy Renner as successor to Cruise's Ethan Hunt. If they do Part 5, Renner will have to jump a motorcycle over all four Mt. Rushmore heads to top this.

Early word from the UK, where this computer-animated blockbuster has already been released, is that the supergroup combo of director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson has nailed the spirit of one of the globe's most enduring pop culture icons. The intrepid reporter Tintin (as motion-captured by Jamie Bell) along with pet dog Snowy are practically bigger in Europe than Jesus, but will his adventurous antics translate to Americans who, by and large, don't know a Hergé from a hole in the ground?

The early trailer promised "The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas," but it feels so good. Who better than David Fincher to translate the worldwide literary phenomenon into a franchise for adults who like their mysteries dark and their heroines bisexual and/or on a motorcycle? An unrecognizable Rooney Mara toplines as the eyebrow-less Lisbeth Salander, hacker extraordinaire and Generation Y's answer to Sherlock Holmes. She teams with Daniel Craig to uncover some nasty family business, and maybe knock some boots as well.

Angelina Jolie's directorial debut had been hovering somewhere between "vainglorious vanity project" and "huh?" on the buzz-o-meter until the recently dropped trailer came out and actually made the film look ... good. Set during the Bosnian war, it's about the relationship between Serbian soldier Danijel (Goran Kostic) and Bosnian captive Ajla (Zana Marjanović), and the repercussions of such a coupling.

Ahh, the "feel-good dramedy," also known as a "Cameron Crowe special." The man behind "Almost Famous" and "Jerry Maguire" has hit a few snags in recent years, but when he's on his game you can bet hearts will be melted faster than butter on toast. Matt Damon plays a recently widowed dad who dedicates his family to renovating a struggling zoo, and falls in love with Scarlett Johansson. Perhaps they'll even make a sequel, "We Bought an Aquarium," without jumping the shark.

'The Darkest Hour' (Dec. 25)

Emile Hirsch is out of the wild and ready to help us forget "Speed Racer" ever happened. In this Russian-made sci-fi pic from producer Timur Bekmambetov of "Wanted" fame, a group of young folk battles some sinister aliens with lasers or lightning bolts or something. The always cute Olivia Thirlby will bring the heat.

'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' (Dec. 25)

Too soon? Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are betting you a box of Kleenex that you're gonna bawl your little eyes out at this drama built around the events of 9/11, and based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer. Former "Teen Jeopardy" champion Thomas Horn is the actual star, playing a kid looking for a lock to match a key his father left behind when he was killed during the terrorist attacks on our country.

'War Horse' (Dec. 25)

With Steven Spielberg behind the wheel of this touching story, we know that nothing will come between Albert (newcomer Jeremy Irvine) and his beloved horse Joey, not even a frickin' World War. Already speculated to be a front-runner for Best Picture, this stunning-looking epic from a master filmmaker harkens back to uplifting films from the golden age of Hollywood. If this movie is corny, then corn us up, 'cause it looks tremendous.

Man, oh man. It's still September, but it's time to start thinking about New Year's Eve … or Garry Marshall's "New Year's Eve," anyway.

We got a peek at "New Year's Eve" earlier this summer, but the first official trailer for this ensemble comedy just popped up on Apple Trailers like a champagne cork. (Watch out for your eye!)

"Valentine's Day" writer Katherine Fugate also penned this ode to yet another holiday designed to make us feel like we should be having a way better time than we really are. The characters in "New Year's Eve" are certainly feelin' the pressure, like lovelorn Sam (Josh Duhamel), hard-working Claire (Hilary Swank) and hugely pregnant Tess (Jessica Biel), who's gunning to have that first New Year's baby. It's a time to cross things off those to-do lists, like Michelle Pfeiffer's Ingrid and her adventures with Paul (Zac Efron), or experience your first midnight smooch in Times Square like Hailey (Abigail Breslin).

Like "Valentine's Day," "New Year's Eve" is jam-packed with familiar faces looking for a little dose of cheer on this super-chilly holiday.

Although most of us can't relate to the trauma of being stuck in an elevator with Ashton Kutcher on a national holiday, we can always look back fondly on that New Year's Eve when we slapped Jon Bon Jovi in the face just like Katherine Heigl does in this trailer.

"New Year's Eve" will hit theaters on Dec. 9, so you still have plenty of time to stock up on those 2012-shaped glasses and tiny hats.

The leaves are falling, school is starting, and Oscar season is on its way. You might think it's time to leave summer blockbusters behind, but this fall has something for everyone, from arty indies to 3-D extravaganzas.

Some of these folks, like Julianne Hough and Lea Michele, are familiar faces from the boob tube who are making the leap to movies; and others, like Noomi Rapace, are better known overseas. What they all have in common is that their breakthrough moments are upon us, as sure as school supplies.

Henry Hopper

Starring in: "Restless" (September 16)
So Fresh: When your dad is the late Dennis Hopper, you're pretty much born cool; but Henry's first film as a bona fide grown-up proves he's not messing around with any fluffy stuff. Hopper costars with Mia Wasikowska as Enoch and Annabel, two damaged lovebirds in this multiple hanky film from the esteemed Gus Van Sant. This isn't your typical Nicholas Sparks romantic drama. Annabel has cancer and three months to live, and death-obsessed Enoch's best friend is Hiroshi, the ghost of a Japanese kamikaze pilot. "Restless" drips cool, from Wasikowska's pixie haircut to the delicate, tinkly score from Danny Elfman. Put Hopper down on your "to watch" list of arty young actors with a fabulous future ahead of them.

Lily Collins

Starring in: "Abduction" (September 23)
So Fresh: Lily Collins first grabbed our attention in "The Blind Side," and since then, the offers have been rolling in. She's got plenty of projects lined up, like the starring role in Tarsem Singh's upcoming Snow White film and the adaptation of YA hit "The Mortal Instruments," but her first starring role is opposite hunky lycanthrope Taylor Lautner in this fast-paced thriller. Lautner, her rumored ex-beau, has told press peeps, "There is an intense steamy scene," although things stay rather PG-13. Speaking of supernatural critters, she also narrowly escaped getting vamped out in "Priest" with Paul Bettany and another "Twilight"-er, Cam Gigandet. Looks like she's done with those feel-good Sandra Bullock flicks for now.

Juno Temple

Starring in: "Dirty Girl" (October 7)
So Fresh: Juno Temple is already known across the pond for her role in the wicked schoolgirl romp "St. Trinian's" and its sequel, but her star began to rise here in the U.S. with help from super-hip Gregg Araki's sexy sci-fi film "Kaboom." Her breakout role in "Dirty Girl" is hilarious and sassy, all set to an excellent '80s soundtrack. It's the tale of a girl on the loose, looking for who she is in the world, along with her gay best friend and their "baby," a sack full of flour named Joan (after Jett and Crawford, naturally). A road trip flick that's surprisingly sweet, "Dirty Girl" is just a taste of things to come for Temple, who switches neatly between indies like "Little Birds" and "Jack and Diane" and blockbusters like "The Three Musketeers" and "The Dark Knight Rises."

Kenny Wormald

Starring in: "Footloose" (October 14)
So Fresh: This dancin' fool is no joke when it comes to fancy footwork, which is a good thing since he has some big shoes to fill in this remake. Taking on the role of Ren McCormack puts Wormald about half a degree away from Kevin Bacon, who got a big career boost from the role in the 1984 original. (Which, by the way, was the year Wormald was born!) Wormald will have to bring some bite to the role, too, as director Craig Brewer is known for films like "Hustle and Flow" and "Black Snake Moan." What's next for young Wormald? If "Footloose" takes off, the sky -- or the stage or screen -- is the limit.

Julianne Hough

Starring in: "Footloose" (October 14)
So Fresh: The Ariel to Wormald's Ren, Hough has busted a move for years on "Dancing With the Stars." This two-time winner rumba-ed her way to number one with speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno and even managed to get Adam Carolla to do the tango. After "Footloose," we'll be seeing Hough in the film adaptation of the rock 'n' roll stage musical "Rock of Ages" as the lead Sherrie Christian; she joins a wild cast that includes Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Alec Baldwin and other big names. It looks like Hough's dancing feet will be taking her far.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Starring in: "The Thing" (October 14)
So Fresh: In this prequel to John Carpenter's terrifying 1982 movie, Winstead takes a flamethrower to her "Scott Pilgrim" alter ego Ramona Flowers, not to mention a whole buttload of slimy, gooey, awful aliens. While we loved Ramona's cool style and multicolored hair, it's great to see Winstead as a parka-wearing scientist caught in the middle of an increasingly horrific situation. (Not to mention that Carpenter's "The Thing" was all dudes, all the time.) We'll be seeing more of Winstead next summer as Mary Todd Lincoln in Timur Bekmambetov's big screen adaptation of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," alongside Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, and Anthony Mackie. So protect your neck -- Ms. Winstead's coming.

Logan Lerman

Starring in: "The Three Musketeers" (October 21)
So Fresh: The boy behind Percy Jackson's adventures is growing up before our eyes. Although there's at least one more "Percy Jackson" movie in store for Lerman, he's making a 3-D splash this October in Paul W.S. Anderson's action-adventure extravaganza "The Three Musketeers." As D'Artagnan, Lerman will be slicing and dicing his way through France, accompanied by the lovely Gabriella Wilde as Constance and shoulder-to-shoulder with Ray Stevenson, Matthew Macfadyen and Luke Evans as the Three Musketeers. Aforementioned up-and-comer Juno Temple stars as Queen Anne, and Temple's "Dirty Girl" costar Milla Jovovich will be kicking butt in a corset as M'lady De Winter. Lerman also stars in the YA fave "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" alongside Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, which will hit theaters in 2012.

Elizabeth Olsen

Starring in: "Martha Marcy May Marlene" (October 21)
So Fresh: While some Sundance "It" Girls don't catch fire, there's no question that Olsen is hot, hot, hot. "Martha Marcy May Marlene" (or as we like to call it, "MMMM") is a tightly wound thriller about a young woman who gets caught up in a creepy cult, complete with a Charles Manson-like figure played by the extraordinary John Hawkes. Once she leaves, her real life is haunted by memories that leave her confused and disturbed; plus, her sister and brother-in-law are utterly perplexed by her bizarre and unexplained behavior. "MMMM" is total Oscar Bait ™, but Olsen already has more projects to come. And she did it without a lick of help from her older sisters MK and Ashley.

Felicity Jones

Starring in: "Like Crazy" (October 28)
So Fresh: Felicity Jones took home the Special Jury Prize at Sundance for her role in this heart-wringing drama about long distance love. "Like Crazy" had critics and festivalgoers sniffling about the back-and-forth relationship between Anna (Jones) and Jacob (Anton Yelchin) as they try and figure out how to make their international love work. Distance isn't their only problem, though, once Anna gets booted from the U.S. for visa problems. Crossed wires, mixed messages, text messages and missed phone calls over the years will have you rooting for this couple to make it work despite it all. There's plenty more coming down the pipeline for this "Tempest"-uous actress, so even if Anna and Jacob can't work it out, we'll be seeing more of Ms. Jones for years to come.

Starring in: "Immortals" (November 11)
So Fresh: Cavill was "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's first choice for Edward Cullen, and although she later decided he was perhaps a little long in the tooth for the high school vamp, his career is still sparkling bright. After a slew of roles in films and on TV, Cavill will be front and center in Tarsem Singh's 3-D mythical extravaganza about Theseus's fight against gnarly King Hyperion. So Fresh: How many kids can say that their first starring role was under a legendary director like Martin Scorsese, in a fantastical story surrounded by a star-studded cast? Not many, that's for sure. Based on the book by Brian Selznick, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," this film is bursting at the seams with all kinds of delicious, steam-punky weirdness that has fans of the book and movie-lovers alike chomping at the bit. Described by Selznick as an "orphan, clock keeper, and thief," Hugo is sure to be Butterfield's breakout role, especially alongside actors like Chloe Moretz, Jude Law, Emily Mortimer, Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley and Christopher Lee. Plus, Scorsese will have tons of fun with all of the film and historical references Selznick packed in there. Mark this down as a must-see.

Starring in: "New Year's Eve" (December 9)
So Fresh: Michele made a splash in the Broadway hit "Spring Awakening," but it looks like this "Glee"-ful gal has set her sights on the big screen. Remember "Valentine's Day"? Well, Garry Marshall's revisiting the whole intertwining-ensemble-holiday thing for "New Year's Eve," where Michele will sing with Jon Bon Jovi and apparently score a midnight kiss in Times Square from Ashton Kutcher. Sure, NYC nights are pretty exciting, but that's a lot for anyone to handle. Michele is also putting her pretty pipes to work for "Dorothy of Oz," the 3-D animated film that picks up where "The Wizard of Oz" left off.

Starring in: "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (December 16)
So Fresh: This tiny Swede rocked our world as the fierce androgynous hacker Lisbeth Salander in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and its sequels with her mad skills and bad attitude. She'll be making her English-language debut this December as a French gypsy opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, whose bromance is elementary. This big-budget Warner Bros. vehicle will shuttle us straight into the holidaze. Not enough Noomi? She'll be taking on some outer space critters in Ridley Scott's 2012 movie "Prometheus," which takes place in the famous Giger-esque universe of "Alien."

Starring in: "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" (December 21)
So Fresh: Speak of the (dragon-tattooed) devil! The girl who gave Mark Zuckerberg an earful in "The Social Network" has some more sass to dole out as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's remake of the Swedish smash hits. Mara had some serious competition for the role, but she managed to convince the finicky Fincher she was the perfect pick. Judging by the trailer and stark photos, including her incredible shoot for W magazine, we'd guess she's right.

Starring in: "War Horse" (December 28)
So Fresh: Steven Spielbeg is pretty much the man, and being hand-selected by him to star in an obviously Oscar-tastic film is like having a little tiny crown deposited on your head by an angel. An angel who makes careers. Irvine stars as Albert, a kid whose best friend is sent to France to fight in the first World War. Albert's BFF, however, is a horse named Joey, so it's not like things are going to go all that well for him in the war, right? Expect lots of "Saving Private Ryan"-style war stuff, heart-tugging animal love (the platonic kind), and a veddy impressive British cast.

It seems like every day of 2011, Garry Marshall's upcoming romantic comedy "New Year's Eve" has added a new cast member. After all, if you're going to make a movie about love at the stroke of midnight, it has to be a cast as big as the holiday itself.

But "New Year's Eve" found itself short of one leading lady this week, as Halle Berry dropped out of the film, leaving Jon Bon Jovi without anyone to romance onscreen. Though there were no shortage of volunteers to replace her (lots of us still want to reenact "Livin' on a Prayer"), Deadline reports that Katherine Heigl has stepped into the role.

Heigl is no stranger to romantic comedies, and was actually in talks for Marshall's first holiday romance, "Valentine's Day" but never signed on.   Kissing Bon Jovi at the stroke of midnight (even if it is only onscreen) seems like a good consolation prize for missing Valentine's, don't you think?

The "Sex and the City" star... as a mom?

Sarah Jessica Parker is apparently putting aside the (on-screen) swingin' single New York life as she's signed on to play a mother -- of a teenager, no less -- in the ensemble romantic comedy, "New Year's Eve."

SJP will be playing a mother who relies too much on her daughter (Abigail Breslin) for company, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"New Year's Eve" is director Garry Marshall's latest holiday-themed all-star rom-com, following this year's "Valentine's Day." Sarah Jessica Parker joins Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sofia Vergara and Jessica Biel as various New Yorkers who romp about New York City, engaging in romantic pratfalls and revelations 'round the closing of the year.

Halle Berry and Zac Efron are currently in negotiations to join the cast. Hey, the more the merrier with these things!

Production on "New Year's Eve" will begin in NYC in February, though second unit will be getting some footage of the Times Square chaos in a couple of weeks. The film will open Dec. 9, 2011, beating the actual New Year's Eve by 22 days!

Usually the concept of Jessica Biel and Sophia Vergara starring in a movie together would blow our minds, but, in this case, they were already blown.

The curvaceous creatures are just the latest stunners to join the cast of Garry Marshall's "New Year's Eve," the sequel to his celeb-fest, "Valentine's Day," that came out earlier this year. Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro and Hilary Swank are among the many stars already signed on for the film.

Not unlike its predecessor, "New Year's Eve" follows a handful of interconnected New Yorkers as they navigate their way through various romantic situations on, you guessed it, New Year's Eve, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

Biel will not be reprising her role from "Valentine's Day," so there's no word if her love interest from that film, Jamie Foxx, will be returning. Instead, she'll be a pregnant woman determined to win a cash prize for being the first to give birth in the new year.

As the debate over "Glee" actress Lea Michele's batch of racy GQ photos rages on, fans have been split into two camps: those who think the pictures go over the line marketing sex appeal and those who, conversely, are very much buying what she's selling.

And perhaps her biggest fan? Why, Garry Marshall, of course.

Okay, so "sex appeal" and the beloved creator of "Happy Days" don't usually go hand in hand, but that's apparently about to change in a big way. E! Online is reporting that Marshall is in hot pursuit of Michele to star in his upcoming romcom "New Year's Eve."

"New Year's Eve," of course, is the follow-up to last year's critically reviled but surprisingly popular ensemble comedy "Valentine's Day," which featured everyone from Julia Roberts and Queen Latifah to Bradley Cooper and Eric Dane.

This time around, it appears that Marshall has set his sights on Michele, who, despite being a breakout star on one of TV's biggest hits, has yet to appear in a single movie (though she is doing voicework for an upcoming animated adaptation of the children's novel "Dorothy of Oz").

"No word yet on Michele's character or storyline," the report from E!'s Marc Malkin reads, "but sources tell me that Marshall wants her big-time."

Well, honestly, after seeing those photos, who doesn't, right?

No other stars have been announced, but it's safe to say we can expect to hear much more on the casting of this film very shortly. The movie, which Marshall is directing from a script by "Valentine's Day" writer Katherine Fugate, is scheduled to land in theaters on December 9, 2011, meaning they will likely need to begin production soon in order to meet that date.
