Every now and then Hollywood has a good idea, and we gotta say, this is one of the best we've heard in a while. Daniel Craig is killing it as James Bond—and there's even chatter that he might be the new quintessential 007 (sorry Sean Connery) — but he's going to have to hang up the tuxedo someday… which makes us wonder who could possibly take his place?
Enter Idris Elba. That's right—the guy from "The Wire." According to Total Film, Elba has already met with producer Barbara Broccoli (no, we didn't make that name up) to discuss the possibility. Obviously, this has us very excited for many reasons, not the least of which is that Elba is a powerful thesp we'd love to see more of, but also because he would be the first black Bond. She played one bad motha', Narcissa Malfoy, in the final three "Harry Potter" movies in addition to having previously worked with new Bond director director Sam Mendes on several plays, with Daniel Craig in the little-seen 2008 film "Flashbacks of a Fool," and newly-cast Ralph Fiennes as ol' Voldy in the aforementioned fantasy franchise. Naomie Harris Is Moneypenny in Upcoming 'Bond 23'

She's fought zombies in "28 Days Later" and pirates in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," but Naomie Harris' latest role pits her against her greatest opponent yet: seduction.
The 34-year-old actress has been cast as M's assistant, Moneypenny, the object of Bond's flirtatious advances, in Sam Mendes' upcoming "Bond 23" (via IndieWire).
The iconic character, which has appeared in 20 previous Bond films and two TV specials, has been played in the past by actresses Lois Maxwell, Caroline Bliss, Samantha Bond, Barbara Bouchet, and Pamela Salem.
While Moneypenny has not appeared in "Casino Royale," or "Quantum of Solace," the two most recent Bond films starring Daniel Craig as 007, she won't be the only new addition to the cast; Ralph Fiennes has reportedly signed on as a "darkly complex" character, while Javier Bardem tackles the role of the film's villain. 'Pirates' Actress Naomie Harris Could Join 007 for 'Bond 23'

Unlike most blockbuster franchises, where we eagerly await the announcement of which villain and actor have signed on to face off against our favorite heroes, Bond is all about the romantic interest. Many famous, gorgeous faces have accompanied James Bond on his spy missions -- Eva Green, Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko in recent years -- and now the long-awaited "Bond 23" may finally have its leading lady.
Naomie Harris, who previously starred in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "Ninja Assassin," has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly has having met producers for possible Bond girl consideration. The site is quick to note that no deals have been struck, but after six months of swirling rumors, including the possible addition of Rachel Weisz to the cast, this is the first concrete info we've heard on the film.
