Until last week, I thought Saoirse Ronan's name was pronounced "Swar-reese Ronan," to the point that, when I would mention to anyone that I was in the process of creating this article, I would say with a vaguely subtle air of sanctimony, "It's Hollywood's unpronounceable names — like that girl from 'The Lovely Bones,' Swar-reese Ronan."
This week: Milla Jovovich goes to the heart of the Umbrella Corporation to stop the global zombie epidemic in "Resident Evil: Retribution," the fifth movie in the popular sci-fi action series that sees the return of original "Resident Evil" badass Michelle Rodriguez.
Also new this week is the Southern-fried pitch-black comedy "Killer Joe" starring Matthew McConaughey, the bike-messenger thriller "Premium Rush" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the romantic drama "The Words" with Bradley Cooper and the financial thriller "Arbitrage" with Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon. "Here's where you make out with my wife."
If you've ever said that, you're either recreationally into that sort of thing (and we here at NextMovie hold no judgment) or you're a Hollywood director married to an actress in the movie you're directing. Get More »
Famke Janssen has played a lot of parts — sexy superhero, love-struck journalist, evil witch — but she's about to add a new line to her resume: Writer/ Director. That's right, the brunette stunner has moved to the other side of the camera for her new film, "Bringing Up Bobby," a project that took her quite some to cobble together ... which just goes to show how hard it really is to get a movie made.
The comedy follows Olive (Milla Jovovich), a con artist who moves her son to a conservative neighborhood in Oklahoma in an effort to build a better future. We won't spoil it for you, but suffice to say that things don't exactly go as planned for our ambitious heroine or her offspring. Janssen chatted with us about what inspired her to want to tell this story, how it was directing for the first time and what man she would love to share some love scenes with when she returns to the silver screen. For the last decade or more, "Resident Evil: Retribution" star Milla Jovovich has been synonymous with one thing: Kicking ass. But now, she's breaking out of that mold and playing against type in the brand new trailer for the indie dramedy "Bringing Up Bobby."
And she's getting a little help from none other than Famke Janssen herself. Get More »
How can you not love Milla Jovovich?
Really, there's no other woman quite like her. She's a total geek and she looks like a goddess. She's one of the nerdiest attendees of Comic-Con every year (and that's saying something), and she's the most gorgeous woman in San Diego while she's at it. She's smart, she's funny, she recorded an awesome album ("The Diving Comedy") back in 1993 and she kicks zombie dogs in the face. Swoon!
Geek out over this incredible woman with our collection of Milla pics from throughout the years and get ready to watch her do the zombie stomp once again as "Resident Evil: Retribution" hits theaters on Sept. 14.
Those undead fans hungry for more video game-inspired monster mayhem to be unleashed by the sinister Umbrella corporation may now feast (their eyes) on the hearty fifth helping, "Resident Evil: Retribution."
The first film's helmer, Paul W. S. Anderson, is back in the director's seat to watch his beautiful wife Milla Jovovich kick more zombie butt in bullet-riddled 3-D. This time Alice (Jovovich) is joined in her hunt by a few clones of characters killed in previous entries, including Rain Ocampo (Michelle Rodriguez) and Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr). Why not, right? Poor Alice. Will her epic war with the undead and the corrupt Umbrella Corporation ever end?
We kind of hope not, 'cause that would mean no more "Resident Evil" movies. Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns in the fifth(!) chapter, "Resident Evil: Retribution," in theaters this Friday. Her journey has been long, hard and more complicated than you might imagine; as such, we thought a refresher course of sorts was in order before you check out her latest battle against the victims — and creators — of that damn T-virus. "The Dark Knight Rises" is one of the most anticipated movies of this summer, not just because it's the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" franchise, but also because Anne Hathaway will be playing Catwoman. We're looking forward to seeing Hathaway's take on the beloved character, but we might be even more to excited to see her bring all the sexiness and sass we love about Catwoman to that iconic outfit.
Hathaway is one more in a long line of lovely ladies who have donned catsuits in movies, be it attending a costume party or kicking some serious butt. Not everyone can pull off a skin-tight suit, but these actresses make it look easy.
Flip through this gallery of fierce-looking females, and you're going to wish you had nine lives just so you could look at it over and over again. Meow!

In the UK, redheads or "gingers," once considered evil demonic spawn, are regularly insulted and abused. But we in America have a long-standing love affair with strawberry locks, so much so that many blondes and brunettes have dyed their hair to become famous fiery redheads, a la Lucille Ball, Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone.
In honor of Pixar's new "Brave" heroine Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald), we've assembled our list of favorite cinematic gingers -- and by that we mean the characters were redheads, not necessarily the actors. Yes, they're all ladies, but we'd love it if more actors like Damian Lewis, Michael Fassbender and Kevin McKidd let their ginger flags fly high. Rupert Grint can't be the only one to represent, guys.
