The trailer for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" dropped earlier this week, and while it surely excited fans of the previous films and the comics, it came across as a bit confusing for those that didn't already know what was going to be happening. So, our good friends over at MTV News got director Bryan Singer on the phone to answer some of the biggest questions. Get More »
Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones are both charming and funny in their similarly understated ways, and what's better is that they work together pretty dang well, as evidenced by "I Love You, Man" and "Our Idiot Brother."
Now the pretty pair is said to be preparing for another on-screen reunion — this time within the Marvel Universe. Get More »
See Chris Evans jump. See Chris Evans run. Run, Chris Evans, run!
Evans, the titular capitán, also known as Steve Rogers, is still carting around plenty of that WWII-era angst that made us love him so much in the first place: "Well, all the other guys in my barbershop quartet are dead" he quips when asked about his weekend plans. Yeah, dude's got plenty to avenge. Get More »
Whether or not Tom Hiddleston's Loki bites the bullet (or gets beaten down by the hammer or whatever other Asgardian killing device comes along) in "Thor: The Dark World" remains to be seen. While he decidedly will not be badding it up in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," we do have not one but two reasons to believe he'll make it through "Thor 2."
Will he ever get his own solo movie, though? The Hiddlehotness has one good idea stored up just in case ... Get More »
In animated form, Rocket Raccoon totally works. In fact, he is actually kind of a badass.*
However, when it comes to making a live-action movie which includes the gun-toting scamp, writer-director James Gunn has had exactly zero intentions of presenting a cartoon version of the character all "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" style. He even spent time with some real-life raccoons before heading into production on "Guardians of the Galaxy," filming for which wrapped on Saturday, to ensure the character will come off as realistic as possible.
So, how did that plan pan out during shooting? Just marvelously (pardon the studio pun), according to Chris Pratt a.k.a. The Star Lord.
Here we go!
Now that Edgar Wright is done gallivanting around the globe in triumph over "The World's End," he's gotta get moving on that "Ant-Man" flick (no, really, the release date got moved up so it's totally crunch time ... pardon the onomatopoeic pun).
Wright, who worked on the script for the dang thing for eight years, has finally gotten himself back to
the colony Los Angeles to work on the next Marvel movie, and he was kind — or cruel, depending on how you look at it — enough to share a little picture action of the ubersecret goings-on. Get More »
After weeks of speculation, all it took was a little Samuel L. Jackson speak — ya know, in between all the rampant swears — to confirm that Little Olsen is indeed red-suiting up to be the Scarlet Witch in Marvel's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron."
Yep, she of major indie breakout cred thanks to "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "Silent House," among others, has been making a turn toward
paying that pricey NYC rent more mainstream projects like the remakes for "Oldboy" and "Godzilla" lately, and now Elizabeth Olsen's set to go all superhero on us for the second Marvel-ous assembly. Get More »
Edgar Wright's gonna have to hustle even harder (and most definitely faster) to make that long-awaited "Ant-Man" flick happen on schedule, ya'll, because according to Deadline, Disney and Marvel Studios have now upped the release date for the insectazoid pic from Nov. 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015 — a little more than three months sooner than originally planned.
Considering it took Wright eight freakin' years to nail down the script for his "Ant-Man" (no, seriously, he was tapped for the project back in '06 and just finished the screenplay with Joe Cornish in July-ish), that extra time might be sort of precious to the guy ... So, Marvel must have a pretty good (read: lucrative) reason up-sleeve to make such a schedule shift, riiiiiight? Get More »
Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" line-up is nothing if not diverse. The central cast of characters includes a giant tree guy, one gun-slinging raccoon, some hot green alien lady, and one solitary normal dude among the space adventuring crew: "Parks and Recreation" star Chris Pratt as the Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, a former U.S. pilot who's gotten himself
a serious six-pack tangled in some intergalactic tussling alongside his team of ex-con Guardians.
Pratt, who's said before that James Gunn's "Guardians" movie will flip the usual superhero story conventions with its humor and irony, has spoken up about how things have been going on the London set — according to him, this is gonna be the best friggin' movie of the century — and whether or not fans can expect a little crossover action with the big shots of "The Avengers." You know, we could get used to this whole "casual dropping of casting news in press releases thing" the blockbusters are trying out lately. Last week, we had the dramatic Batfleck announcement, and this morning, Marvel just happened to mention that James Spader would play the title baddie in the much-anticipated "Marvel's The Avengers" sequel, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
