Q&A: Spider-Man's Latest Mary Jane, Laura Vandervoort, Talks!

Kirsten Dunst left rather large shoes to fill when it came to the iconic role of Mary Jane Watson in "Spider-Man." So big, in fact, that the newest movie, "The Amazing Spider-Man," opted to go the Gwen Stacy story route.

Not so for Activision's new video game featuring the great webbed one. "Smallville" and "Into the Blue 2" actress Laura Vandervoort took on the voiceover gig as M.J. for the game, which also features the voices of Val Kilmer and Katee Sackoff, and approached it rather differently than Dunst, she told NextMovie during San Diego Comic-Con.

But talking for iconic characters isn't all this sci-fi mainstay has been up to. You'll see quite a bit of the blonde beauty in 2012 – she stars opposite Tom Hardy and Chris Pine in "This Means War" and Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg in Seth MacFarlane's "Ted." Get More »

"The first poster I had up on my wall was Marky Mark -- I loved 'Fear...' That's not my favorite but that was a great movie.

"It's really hard for me to pick... I really love Tim Burton -- He's totally dark. I love that stuff.

"I don't really have a favorite because I love them all. Honestly, I couldn’t pick. I’d love to work with him. He’s right up my alley, I like that."

Laura Vandervoort stars in "Entitled," which arrives on DVD on Tuesday. The former television star will next appear in "Ted" oppsite Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg and "This Means War" opposite Tom Hardy and Chris Pine. She also voices the part of Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming "Spiderman: The Edge of Time" video game, out Oct. 4.

No offense to the previously cast Mark Wahlberg, but "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane's debut feature film "Ted" just got a serious injection of good looks.

Laura Vandervoort, best known for her role as Supergirl on "Smallville" and as a regular on ABC's "V" reboot, has joined MacFarlane's new comedy alongside Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi and Patrick Warburton.

The movie centers on John (Wahlberg), who as a child, wished for his Teddy Bear, Ted, to come to life. It did -- much to adult John's dismay. In present day, Ted is a vulgar do-nothing, a best friend standing in the way of John enjoying his life. Get More »
