Kristen Stewart seems desperate to be considered a "serious actress," and she's lined up a pair of projects she plans to shoot this summer that reinforce this idea to the extreme. Hopefully this new commitment to seriousness will result in more formal public speaking outings where she doesn't spend most of the time stuttering, faking surprise, or dramatically tucking her hair behind her ears. Sigh. We can dream.

The most serious of these serious projects is "Camp X-Ray," a drama by first-time writer/director Peter Sattler, which will send the young actress to Guantanamo. Most will be surprised to learn that K-Stew being sent to Guantanamo is wholly unrelated to last summer's "Snow White and the Huntsman," even though most consider that movie, at the very least, an act of villainous treason. The movie is described as being about "a young soldier who escapes her suffocating small town by joining the military, only to find that she isn't going for a tour of duty in Iraq as she hoped. Instead she's sent to Guantanamo. Met with hatred and abuse from the Muslim men in her charge, she forges an odd friendship with a young man in her charge who has been imprisoned for eight years." Um. While the use of the word "Muslim" in the plot rundown has us a little nervous (we don't want people to think you're insensitive, K-Stew), the movie could be intriguing... or a total bust. A love story set at Gitmo? Makes about as much sense as one set on the Titanic. Oh wait.

More promising is Stewart's commitment to "Sils Maria," the new film by super genius director Olivier Assayas ("Summer Hours"). She gets to play the assistant to an actress (Juliette Binoche) who becomes obsessed with a young starlet (Chloe Moretz) that is playing a role that once made Binoche's character famous. Also it's set in Switzerland. This sounds like a super classy "All About Eve"/"Showgirls"-style bitch-fest and honestly we cannot wait. Bring it on, K-Stew. BRING. IT. ON.

Is that Zachary Quinto, the Chief Science Officer of "Star Trek Into Darkness," running from the horror of "Aftershock"? Ah, no, at second glance, that's actually Quinto's doppelganger, Eli Roth, the man who gave us "Cabin Fever" and shot Hitler full o' holes in "Inglourious Basterds."

Anyway, with "Aftershock" and the new "Trek" being released back-to-back, we figured this was the perfect time to match up our favorite Hollywood doubles as they compete for roles, attention and DNA. It's like looking into a mirror!

If you think your eyes are starting to play tricks on you, think of this like that Olsen Twins movie "It Takes Two," but without Steve Guttenberg.

Leighton Meester & Minka Kelly

Luscious "Gossip Girl" star Meester might be "Country Strong," but she more than met her match in Minka Kelly, who shone on "Friday Night Lights" as the lovely Lyla Garrity. The two of them actually got to face off, "Single White Female"-style, in 2011's horror thriller "The Roommate," when they entered freshman orientation together — but only one came out alive. Easy, ladies!

Logan Marshall-Green & Tom Hardy

After the one-three punch of "Bronson," "Inception" and "Warrior," Tom Hardy was the hunk du jour in Hollywood, but now a nearly identical upstart is nipping at his heels. After treading the boards Off- (and occasionally Off-Off-) Broadway, relative newcomer (and NextFactor highlight) Logan Marshall-Green began wriggling his way to the big time last summer via Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." Of course, Hardy's Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" could probably throat-punch an alien to death with his eyes closed.

Carey Mulligan & Michelle Williams

It's all about the gorgeous swan-like necks. Carey and Michelle could not be more different as actors; the former has an old-school, boisterous lightness while the latter, in both real life and on film, is introspective, reserved, even ethereal. We almost did a double-take in 2011 when Mulligan was seen on screen with Williams' "Blue Valentine" sweetheart Ryan Gosling in "Drive."

Javier Bardem & Jeffrey Dean Morgan

In their signature roles as Anton Chigurh in "No Country For Old Men" and The Comedian in "Watchmen," respectively, Bardem and Morgan pull off striking, bull-in-a-china-shop characters whose moral compasses have long since been flushed down the toilet. Oddly, strewn across their paths of destruction we find very real human fragments to latch onto ... and that's not on the page, it's in the performances. Still, we wouldn't want to run into either of these tough customers in a dark alley.

These doppelgangers have yet to cross paths on screen, but when they do, it's sure to be electric. Olyphant first captured our attention as the lead in HBO's foulmouthed fan-favorite "Deadwood," then graduated to playing men of dubious intent in flicks like "Live Free or Die Hard." Duhamel is more the average all-American Joe type, playing a soldier for the "Transformers" trilogy and romantic leads in fluff like "Safe Haven." Does the U.S. Marshal on "Justified" need a half-brother?

Palmer has nearly nabbed roles in "Justice League," "Mad Max" and the "Spider-Man" movies, but this talented blonde will forever be in the shadow of her movie duplicate, Kristen Stewart. Palmer may be catching up to Stewart, though, as she recently starred as a human who swoons over a member of the undead (a zombie this time, in "Warm Bodies").

Despite the current Jesse-positive climate thanks to that little "The Social Network" movie and the upcoming "Now You See Me," these are both super-young dudes with plenty of awkwardness left to give.

Playing father and son in 2009's "Star Trek" may have tipped these two Chrises off that they kinda sorta look alike. Hemsworth made his film debut playing James T. Pine had to delicately dance around the iconic Shatner characterizations to make the Starship Enterprise his own, but he did, and has been unstoppable ever since.

Now that Katy Perry is acting (she played super-hot Smurfette in "The Smurfs") and divorced from a famous husband, there may literally be nothing that separates her from her big-eyed mirror-image, Zooey Deschanel. And speaking of Smurfs, we finally found two fellas who have come to terms with their lookalike status by agreeing to be in the same movie. In "The Smurfs" Reubens played the gag-gifting Jokey Smurf, while Cumming portrayed the newest character, Gutsy Smurf. Although these were voice-only roles, it was only a matter of time before these two get together for realsies (like they did at the "Pee-Wee" premiere on Broadway). Maybe if the show reopens, Cumming could appear as the depressive younger brother, WeePee Herman, who cries a lot?

In the world of ironically named films, the upcoming heist movie "Focus" just moved into first place, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen Stewart has dropped out of the film and may be replaced by.... Will Smith?

Talk about your bold casting moves!

Okay, okay, so it's not an actual one-for-one swap of K-Stew for The Fresh Prince. Rather, it's just the latest cast shuffling by "Crazy, Stupid, Love." directors Glenn Ficara and John Requa, who originally wrote "Focus" movie for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. But since they were kind of busy being awesome in other movies, "Focus" instead became a vehicle for an even more unlikely romantic team, namely Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart.

Now, though, both Affleck and Stewart have officially dropped out of the project as well, leaving Ficara and Requa seemingly back at square one in their search for stars. However, while nothing is yet official, it seems that Smith is now in talks to star as a crook who gets involved with a young apprentice, only to have the romantic entanglement complicate matters during a big heist.

Just which ingenue will star opposite Smith is also still up in the air, but given how unfocused "Focus" has been so far, we're not counting our chickens just yet anyway. Because the way this is going so far, by the time they get it all sorted out, Jaden Smith will probably be old enough to play the main character anyway.

The big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novel "The Host" only just hit theaters today, but there's one thing many Twihards and non-Twihards alike can already agree on: They hate it.

Of course, most of the haters not only haven't seen the movie yet, but they haven't read the book, either. Usually we'd suggest waiting to pass judgment until after you've actually read the book or seen the movie and developed an informed opinion. But on the other hand, what fun would that be?

With that in mind, we've decided to help out all the haters by putting together this helpful Haters' Guide to Hating "The Host," which is filled with key talking points you can use to slag "The Host" to your friends, in arguments with strangers or via social media. So get your completely irrational hate on.

And if you want to hate us for slagging on "The Host," that's cool, too. You don't even have to read the article if you don't want to.

It's Too Much Like 'Twilight'

Unless you're a diehard Twihard, chances are you're pretty much sick to death of "Twilight." While everyone in Hollywood is trying to find the next "Twilight," everyone outside of Hollywood is desperately trying to avoid it. It's, like, so 2008. And does anybody really want to see a bunch of "Host" cosplayers at Comic Con this year, which would basically consist of normally dressed people just acting schizophrenic? Look, if America wanted another "Twilight" clone, "Beautiful Creatures" would have made more than nine bucks at the box office, right?

It's Not Enough Like 'Twilight'

If you're a Twihard, on the other hand, you know that the real issue with "The Host" is actually that it's not nearly enough like "Twilight." Sure, it's by Stephenie Meyer and, yeah, it has a teen girl protagonist caught in a love triangle while battling forces beyond mortal ken. And ... everything else. But where's the spirit? Vampires are romantic — if technically parasitic — creatures, what with their broody bloodlust, tragic backstories and immortal hair. And sparkles. "The Host" doesn't have any of that. To paraphrase Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore in the classic "Apocalypse Now," "Charlie don't sparkle!" And for any real Twihard, that's a major, major problem.

Aliens? Really?

Which brings us to this: Aliens? Really? Once upon a time, back when your dad was a kid, aliens were cool. For instance, in the movie "Aliens." But that, as you may have just Googled, was over a quarter of a century ago. Note to Hollywood: "E.T." phoned home, man. It's over. These days young movie fans want menaces they can understand, that reflect their real terrors and fears. In other words, they want monsters that look less like wet pupae and more like the lead singer of fun. Sure, the aliens in "The Host" are just people, but you know what? So are vampires, and they're much sexier than aliens. Leave the '80s behind, guys!

Not Enough Shirtless Werewolves

Speaking of which, if they really wanted to capture the "Twilight" magic, they should have started with the true heart of the movie's appeal: Taylor Lautner without a shirt. For all of Hollywood's desperation to find the next "Twilight," we have to wonder why nobody has done the obvious and just spun off a werewolf movie set in the "Twilight" universe. Is that so hard to figure out? The number one rule of sales is to give people what they want and for the last five years, fans have been making it pretty clear that what they want is a good look at Lautner's digitally enhanced abs. Once again, "The Host" completely fails on this most basic level.

Doesn't Saoirse Ronan Have Something Better to Do with Her Time?

Kristen Stewart was absolutely perfect in 'Twilight" because she was so amazingly wan and lifeless that it seemed like vampires had already sucked her completely dry. But while it's clear that the folks behind "The Host" want Saoirse Ronan to be a pale imitation of Stewart — emphasis on pale, as the girl is nearly translucent in the trailer — we have to think Ronan has better things to do with her time than appear in this claptrap. After all, Ronan already has Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations on her resume. She actually, you know, has acting talent. We're begging you, Saoirse: Leave this juvenile stuff to K.Stew and go make "Atonement 2" or something. Your time is worth more than this.

WTF Is a Love Quadrangle?

Okay, we get it: Love triangles are the in thing, especially when they involve one girl and two dudes. Even "The Hunger Games" has a love triangle, and that's actually a pretty good movie. But in "The Host," Meyer has provided us with what may be the world's first love quadrangle. It's way too complicated to get into without a series of Venn diagrams, but there are two guys in love with one girl, except one dude is in love with the real girl and the other is in love with the alien parasite simultaneously living in her body, so things are not only awkward, they are creepy and confusing. Which is fine, but here's our number-one rule for watching movies: If you need an advanced degree in geometry to understand it, watch something else. Just because we know what a parallelogram is doesn't mean we want to be reminded of it. NO MATH!

We've been joking around up until this point, but this last one is totally, 100% true. We did a highly unscientific poll of some random people who have never read "The Host" and asked them why they hate it. And every single one of them had the exact same answer: It was written by Stephenie Meyer. This makes us feel bad. Meyer seems like a nice lady. And having your name become synonymous with crap for an entire generation can't be much fun, especially since none of those people have read the book and are just reacting to the excesses of "Twilight" fandom. But since she has about a billion reasons to ignore haters and laugh hysterically while rolling around in a giant pile of gold coins, all we can say is: Keep on hating. After all, that's what makes the Internet fun. Right, guys?

This week, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner reprise their beloved "Twilight" characters on screen one last time in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," the final chapter in the young-adult series based on the books by Stephenie Meyer.

Also new this week is Disney's animated hit "Wreck-It Ralph" and the long-delayed remake of "Red Dawn" featuring Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2'

Storyline: In this final chapter of "The Twilight Saga," Bella (Kristen Stewart) awakens as a newborn vampire and begins her new life with her sparkly vampire husband, Edward (Robert Pattinson), and their half-vampire daughter, Renesmee. Domestic bliss is short-lived as the Volturi clan, led by Aro (Michael Sheen), arrives from Rome for a final showdown with the Cullens and werewolves. Meanwhile, shirt-challenged werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) has "imprinted" on the quickly growing Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), becoming her lifelong protector.
Extras! Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain audio commentary by director Bill Condon; a seven-part documentary; "Jump To" functionality, which allows you to go directly to scenes with either Edward or Jacob; a music video for Green Day's "The Forgotten"; and a brief featurette on the challenges of filming both parts of "Breaking Dawn" simultaneously.
We Say: Although it's a welcome change of pace to see Bella rise as a powerful vampire instead of being a damsel torn between two supernatural hunks, the last "Twilight" isn't going to convert anyone who wasn't already on board for this vampy young adult romance. The final battle between the Voluturi and Cullens seems promising until it ends up being a big cheat, and the idea of Jacob "imprinting" on a young girl is, frankly, creepy and difficult to sell on screen. Still, for Twi-hards, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is a satisfying sendoff for their beloved characters.

'Wreck-It Ralph'

Storyline: The titular character (John C. Reilly) in this animated blockbuster is tired of being the designated villain in his video game and overshadowed by good-guy Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer). Ralph ventures out and explores other video games in the arcade, meeting tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch) from the first-person shooter "Hero's Duty" and the glitchy-but-spirited misfit Vanellope Von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) from the Skittles-colored racing game "Sugar Rush." After Ralph unintentionally unleashes an enemy that could destroy the arcade world, will he be able to rise as a hero at last?
Extras!: Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain the wonderful Oscar-winning animated short "Paperman." All of the other extras are Blu-ray exclusives, including hints to the disc's Easter eggs, a making-of featurette, alternate and deleted scenes,and four  commercials for the faux video games featured in the movie. The Blu-ray 3D combo pack brings the action home in three dimensions, as it was in theaters.
We Say: Loud, colorful, frantic and with enough references to classic arcade games like Q*bert to keep parents engaged, "Wreck-It Ralph" will appeal to the whole family and stir up some nostalgic feelings in older viewers who grew up plunking quarters into machines like these.

'Red Dawn' (2012)

Box Office: $45 million
Rotten Tomatoes: 11% Rotten
Storyline: A group of teenagers (including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Josh Peck and Adrienne Palicki) in Spokane, Washington wake up to find North Korean paratroopers dropping from the sky in a surprise attack on the United States. The courageous teens decide to fight for their town and their freedom in this remake of the 1984 film of the same name.
Extras!: Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes titled "'Red Dawn' Rising," "Building the 'Red' Menace," "Training for WWIII" and "WWIII Comes to Town."
We Say: The original film was hardly a classic, but at least it took place during the Cold War, when the Russian threat seemed entirely plausible. The North Koreans (they were originally supposed to be Chinese, but the studio wanted the movie to open in China) storming Spokane in this remake have no clear agenda yet the cast plays it dead serious and void of charisma. Just play "Call of Duty" instead and pull the plug on this uninspired remake.

There were a whole lot of bad movies last year, but after all the votes were tallied and the industry grudges settled, Hollywood officially named the worst film of 2012 yesterday at the 33rd annual Razzie Awards — and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" was the clear winner loser, earning Golden Raspberries in seven categories including Worst Picture.

But was it really the worst film of the year?

It's clear that the people voting for the Razzies thought so. Besides Worst Picture, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" also won for Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart), Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Rip-Off, Remake or Sequel and Worst Screen Couple for the admittedly creepy pairing of Mackenzie Foy and Taylor Lautner.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" wasn't the only film being pilloried, of course. Adam Sandler, for instance, won Worst Actor for the second year in a row, for the truly terrible "That's My Boy" (which also won Worst Screenplay). And Rhianna was justifiably singled out as Worst Supporting Actress for her role in the mega-bomb "Battleship."

Still, we think these results are more about "Twilight" fatigue than "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" as an actual movie. Sure, it wasn't very good, but was it really that much worse than "John Carter," which somehow wasn't even nominated in a single category? And how did it beat out "The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure," which set an all-time record for the worst box office debut ever for a film appearing in more than 2,000 theaters?

Oh, well. At least there's one bit of silver lining: They can't possibly give any Razzies to "Twilight" next year, right?

For Kristen Stewart, there's definitely life after "Twilight" ... and it's hot!

Deadline reports that K.Stew will be getting kinky with it as she's signed on to star in "The Big Shoe," a fetish film that's sure to get one half of the audience all hot and bothered whilst totally creeping out the other.

"The Big Shoe" stars Jim Sturgess as a talented shoe designer who breaks ties with a family that wants to turn his work into mass-produced knock-offs (cue this song). In an attempt to lure him back into the fold, the family hires a psychotherapist named Mary Kay (Elizabeth Banks) and a muse named Delphi (K.Stew), and, well ... things will probably get very interesting from there.

"The Big Shoe" is set to be directed by Steven Shainberg, who co-wrote the script with Mickey Birnbaum. Shainberg is certainly no stranger to the world of sexy subversion, having written the amazing "Secretary," which chronicled the strange and steamy relationship between an executive (James Spader) and his assistant (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

News of the casting of Stewart and Banks comes out of the Berlin Film Festival, which opened today and will run through Feb. 17. K.Stew is currently in pre-production on the con game drama, "Focus," which still hasn't found its leading man after Ben Affleck turned it down.

The Oscar-nominated star of "Zero Dark Thirty" trades her trademark red mane for a short jet-black 'do (complete with accompanying tattoos) for her goth punk turn in "Mama," the Guillermo del Toro-produced frightfest about a rather, shall we say, over-protective ghost.

Jessica's new look has us wanting to start a band that only covers Sex Pistols songs ... and gather some pics of other hot punk rock chicks in flicks. Fight the power and get clickin' through our gallery.

Looking for a good investment? Natalie Portman and Kristen Stewart are pretty much guaranteed to make you money — like, a lot of it.

The "Black Swan" and "Twilight" beauties (respectively) are the toast of the town as they top the list of Forbes' Best Actors For the Buck, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Portman ranked No. 1, bringing in $42.70 in box office returns for every dollar the studios spend on her, with K.Stew close behind with a $40.60 return on investment. Despite headlining such big franchises as "Twilight" and "Snow White and the Huntsman," Stewart was bested by Portman mostly due to the incredible $329 million worldwide gross of "Black Swan," which cost all of $13 million to produce.

Also, believe it or not, "No Strings Attached" cost, like, ten bucks and earned $150 million. Were you one of the people who contributed to that?

Shia LaBeouf ($35.80), K.Stew's "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson ($31.70) and Daniel Radcliffe ($30.50) round out the top five, with "Here Comes the Boom" star Kevin James making a surprise appearance on the list at No. 10 with $22.40.

Well, this is certainly a better Forbes list to be on than, say, the Most Overpaid Actors of 2012. Maybe Natalie Portman and Eddie Murphy should make a movie together just to see if it breaks exactly even?

Portman is currently filming "Thor: The Dark World," which hits theaters on Nov. 8, 2013, and is in pre-production on a new western, "Jane Got a Gun."

After all the talk of trampirism on the part of Kristen Stewart for her dalliance with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, when it came down to choosing Sanders or Stewart for the film's sequel, Universal knew where their bread was buttered.

In an interview with Indiewire to promote her all-nude, all-the-time performance in Walter Salles' "On the Road," controversial "Twilight" starlet Stewart confirmed that she will indeed headline the "Snow White" sequel, most likely titled "Snow White and the Off-White Wedding Gown."

"Oh, it’s gonna be f**kin’ amazing," Stewart exclaimed about the new entry. "No, I’m so excited about it, it’s crazy. I’m not allowed. The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we’re going to make a sequel, and that’s very true, but everyone was like, 'Whoa, stop talking about it.' So no, I’m totally not allowed to talk about it."

When pressed on whether this second go-round meets the high artistic standards we've come to expect from a woman who starred in five films about abstinent vampires, Stewart replied in the cautiously affirmative.

"Oh my God. F**k, yeah," she said. "Absolutely. And we’ve got a really amazing… [smiles] So, yeah. It’s all good. [laughs]"

"Snow White and the Huntsman" grossed nearly $400 million at the worldwide box-office, and though initial plans had centered around Chris Hemsworth's burly Huntsman taking the focus, he may have to settle for his humble duties as the God of Thunder for now.

2012 has been quite a year for Kristen Stewart: the epic "Twilight Saga" came to an end, she's showing her boobs in another film, and she's dealt with tabloid dramz in her relationship  with R.Pattz. Still, it seems nothing brings this girl down.

It's hard to believe the 22-year-old actress really did anything before she signed on as Bella Swan just a few years ago. But we know better than that. Her breakout role came at 12-years-old as Jodie Foster's daughter in "Panic Room," and that was only the beginning.

In "On the Road," out this weekend, Stewart takes the passenger seat for a cross-country trip with Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley in a film based on Jack Kerouac's novel of the same name. The story follows young writer Sal Paradise (Riley) as he travels through the States with his free-spirited buddy Dean Moriarty (Hedlund) and Moriarty's teen bride (Stewart) during the 1950s. The threesome (uh, yeah, there's that scene too) ditch life in New York in search of new experiences.

Funny, though, how one of Stewart's childhood gigs would come into play for her role in "On the Road." Long before she was a credited actress, K.Stew was featured in a Porsche commercial where she enjoys a daily road trip with the wind blowing in her hair. In the TV spot, Stewart realizes there's no way she's hopping on a boring yellow school bus when she can hitch a ride in a fancy sports car. Who can blame her?

Dear Kristen Stewart, would it kill you to crack a smile?

Stewart, erstwhile star of the "Twilight" franchise, has 50-plus shades of stankface, and she's displayed each and every one of them on red carpets over the last several years. We understand that some people just have kind of a mean resting face, but this seems a little excessive. Do you really have reason to be so glum? We'd like to point out that Robert Pattinson took you back. And it's worth noting that you were named the highest-paid Hollywood actress last year.

Whatever the opposite of smizing is, that's what you do. Tyra Banks would be ashamed.

We hate to belabor the point, but really: Just try cheerfulness! It might do you some good.

Garrett Hedlund is many things: the leading man in the rebooted sci-fi franchise "TRON", a honky-tonk love interest in "Country Strong" and "Georgia Rule," and now an indie wild child, playing Dean in the long-awaited film adaptation of "On the Road."

Hedlund's path to "On the Road" wasn't an easy one: He's been attached to the project for five years, and the movie has been in Hollywood purgatory for even longer, with a paper trail leading back to the 1950s, when author Jack Kerouac first floated the idea of an adaptation of his novel. This Friday, U.S. audiences will finally get the chance to see this new side of him (and, as a bonus, they'll get to see his naked side).

Hedlund caught up with NextMovie in New York ahead of the film's release, and talked "Twilight," getting intimate with Steve Buscemi, and how, exactly, to crack open a Benzadrine inhaler.

Not to pun too hard, but it's been a long road making "On the Road." You were originally linked to this role in 2007, then it filmed in 2010, and now, in the last days of 2012, it's finally coming out in the U.S.
It's just been, yeah, it's been obviously a long, long time. But I guess it's pretty miniscule in the scheme of this film — [Francis Ford] Coppola gained the rights to it in '79. So the five years that I've been involved in comparison to the 55, it's not too bad, I guess.

Did you ever have doubts that this would actually happen?
Yeah, because when [director] Walter [Salles] had cast me in 2007, just after this and the film looked like it was going to go, then the financial crisis struck in 2008 and everything seemed sort of unachievable. That's where finally I didn't know if I was going to get it, and in 2010, MK2, this French financier company, loved the script and loved the book and loved the idea of doing it, then everything happened so fast and we only had six weeks of prep time to get it going.

Walter and I would keep in contact by email. Constant communication, a lot of visits he would take to L.A. and him and I would rent a Hudson and go around and film and shoot monologues and he would film to send to the financiers to convince them. But a lot of that time, because I sort of had a feeling in my mind that it was most definitely going at some point, was a lot of research. A lot of those years, definitely the first two years, 2007, 2008 and 2009, were reading everything I could of Kerouac, everything Neal Cassady wrote, all the letters, and all the authors that inspired them. So that whole time, I didn't take another job, I was sure that this one was going to go. Then it just kept not going.

Jack Kerouac himself wanted this to be made into a movie in the late '50s, with Marlon Brando playing the role of Dean. What's it like to be the one who finally got it done?
It's just, even then and guys like Dennis Hopper and everybody that was involved. When I first read the book, I was 17 and looked online to see if it was ever going to be made into a film, and it said Francis Ford Coppola was directing it, and I think it had Johnny Depp as Sal, maybe Brad Pitt for Dean. I think it's wonderful, obviously, that's a very cool sort of little anecdote of this whole story coming to fruition. But for me, a lot of this whole experience, meeting Neal's family members, meeting other members of the book that are still alive today. Al Hinkel, who's Ed Dunkel in the book, taught me how to break Benzedrine inhalers open with the bottom of a beer bottle.

And what's the secret to that?
Crack it once on one side, then turn it over and crack it once on the other side. You need to be ever so delicate with the peeling away process.

You said you read "On the Road" first when you were 17. Was that for school, or did you come to it on your own?
No, it was recommended. I was just reading, in that phase of Fitzgerald and Salinger at that point, so obviously going up the ladder to the Beats and then soon after, Bukowski and stuff like that.

How did you react to it?
I just, when I read it then, it more inspired me because it's a book about writing a book. It just reminded me that all these kind of wonderful moments in life when we come across somebody kind of colorful and vibrant, that you know, anybody that isn't... When you come across someone colorful and vibrant maybe in the present it isn't so interesting, but, in the past, it sheds a wonderful light onto living life. So I was always kind of into that writing and documentary sort of form, just writing about my everyday life and everybody that I'd come across and the conversations we'd have. That's what it inspired me to do, was to write more. When I was in high school I was doing creative writing and world lit and wanted to do journalism, so this, as a narrative, was very inspiring. Especially the format, that kind of spontaneous prose, the immediacy of everything was refreshing as well, coming off of reading Fitzgerald, who's very disciplined.

Are your journals still around somewhere?
Oh yeah. I don't get to them very often, unless I'm trying to go back and find something from before, but they're all stashed away. Every one keeps adding to the box. I remember telling my creative writing teacher that you never want to have a journal, because if you lose it, then someone's going to know all your secrets. And then she stopped using a journal, but I always write everything down ... Anytime I travel, I try and fill up notepads.

So are we going to see a memoir from you someday?
[Laughing] Oh, I don't know. I think mine's really just to one day pass them on to grandkids, let them know that their grandpa lived a little bit.

Speaking of living a little, you get up to a lot in this movie. We actually see your bare butt before we even see your face. Did you ever expect to be doing some of the things you do in "On the Road"?
I knew I was going to have to do it, because it's in the book. It was one of the things about the book that cracked me up and make all of us sort of envious of this guy who's so carefree and lives life this way he does. There's such bravery to a lot of these little stunts he pulls that I can't help but find a lot of humor in it. You just read in the book and hope that they're going to be as amusing when you put them on film. I think it's always weird when you're doing these things, but it's whatever. I mean, there's like, I don't know, you just try and fulfill your own expectations of how you want it to come off before doing this and meeting a lot of the family members.

I was more worried about trying to shed light on how wonderful of a father he actually was, if there was any room for it, to show that he wasn't always this thoughtless and on his path and couldn't be diverted by anybody else's worries or agendas. When I met with the family, they said how wonderful a father he was, how important it was for him to provide for all of them, so we tried to infuse some of that into the story. They just asked me not to make him into such an ass that Kerouac did because he wasn't. Half of this, Kerouac wrote through real experience, the other half through imagination. They didn't want him to be such a devil.

And your character has sex with Steve Buscemi. As a young actor, was that a surprising way to meet such an icon?
Oh yeah. Buscemi's the greatest. Everybody who knows Buscemi knows what to expect when watching this film. Everyone thinks it's just hilarious. John Goodman, every time he sees me, he just laughs. He hasn't even seen it yet. Just the idea cracks him up. But Buscemi literally is the sweetest f**king guy in the world.

But really,getting to work with him was cool, right?
Walter said he believes in religion that there's no independent film without Steve Buscemi.

When this movie originally screened at Cannes, it was much longer. Now, for the U.S. release, it's been trimmed. Is there a cut that you prefer?
Even if there was 20 cuts, it'd be a hard question, because I'm a fan of so many of these, all of the moments in the book. The long version had some things that I really like and was very unique, and I just think it's a benefit that both these cuts are out there. I've never seen anything like it before, where we're flying to Toronto to debut this cut, and half the people in Toronto said, "Oh, I saw it on Air France flying over." Oh, wonderful. I've never seen that happen before, where there's already a DVD out of the first cut. I think that a lot of people that aren't familiar with the book maybe didn't know what journey they were about to embark on, watching the first cut.

Were you worried at all that Kristen Stewart's personal drama would derail the release of the film or affect how people saw it?
Oh, no, I didn't think about that whatsoever. For her, I was so excited that she was going to play this role because she's so dedicated. When I saw "Into the Wild," I thought man, this girl would be perfect to play Marylou, you know, a girl that seemed to be wise beyond her years for a character like Marylou that was 20 years wise beyond her years. I was so excited. From the moment she jumped onto this project, she was so passionate. She had read the book when she was 15 and talked to Walter and was a fanatic about it and she spent hours and hours going over audiotapes of Marylou, the actual character, and getting the voice completely down. I was super excited that it was her and also Sam [Riley]. When I watched "Control," when I reached the end, I immediately started it again, and then again the next day. I was such a fan of his, I thought his role in "Control" was so f**king great.

Kristen also has her fair share of nudity and un-Bella Swan-like behavior. How do you think her "Twilight" fans will react?
I think she's so wonderful in this project that they're going to be proud to see someone that they cherish so much in a whole different light.

Do you hope Twi-hards come see the movie?
Do I hope? That's a very modest way of putting that. Do I hope? No, I pray! I f**kin' pray to the literary gods! The more people that come see it, I just hope it inspires them to pick up the book, first and foremost.

As another movie year comes to a close, it's time to look back at the biggest film-related stories of 2012 and take stock of all the highs and lows. And while there certainly were some major movie highs this year — from acclaimed period pieces to crowd-pleasing blockbusters to surprise comedy hits — frankly, we're more than happy for 2012 to be over.

That's because, as cool as the action was on screen, the headlines being made off-screen were often sad, disappointing or downright terrifying to think about. So let's look back at the year that was — and hope that 2013 is a whole hell of a lot more fun.

15. Johnny Depp Crashes and Burns

For the last decade or so, Johnny Depp has pretty much been the biggest star in the world. But in 2012, Depp's smooth sailing came to an abrupt end. First came the release of "Dark Shadows," which surprisingly bombed at the box office in May. Then, barely a month later, Depp and Vanessa Paradis, his partner of 14-years and the mother of his children, abruptly called in quits. And to top things off, Depp finished off the year by releasing the trailer to his new movie "The Lone Ranger" only to have it roundly lambasted by critics and fans alike. When things go bad, they go bad fast.

14. James Bond Finally Returns

James Bond may have celebrated a half-century of feature films in 2012, but for the last four of those fifty years, fans have been wondering if they would ever get a chance to see 007 on the big screen again. That's because the studio that produces the Bond films, MGM, went bankrupt after 2008's "Quantum of Solace," throwing the future of the series into doubt and presenting the very real possibility that the wildly popular Daniel Craig relaunch would be cut short after just two films. Luckily, though, the bigwigs in management finally got their act together, resulting in Bond's return in "Skyfall" last month — a return that eager fans have rewarded to the tune of over $900 million worldwide so far. Welcome back.

13. 'Ted' Is a Shocking Hit

Hollywood loves nothing more than a winning formula, which is why we get fed so many hackneyed films over and over. But here's a formula Hollywood never expected: An animated sitcom star directing an R-rated movie about a foul-mouthed teddy bear. So much for conventional wisdom: "Ted" ended up earning over half a billion dollars worldwide, turning Hollywood on its ear and pretty much giving Seth MacFarlane carte blanche to do whatever the hell he wants for the rest of his life. Oh, and by the way, it turns out that Mark Wahlberg is really funny, too. Who knew, right? It all adds up to one of the biggest box office surprises in years.

12. 'The Artist' Wins Best Picture

Hey guys, remember how great the Best Picture field was back in 1929? Man, who can forget "Wings," which was not only the first Best Picture winner ever but also the last silent film to win Best Picture at the Oscars. Good times! Unfortunately for hardcore trivia buffs, though, that little nugget of useless knowledge was shocking rendered obsolete by "The Artist," a whimsical silent picture which came out of nowhere (or France, whichever) to take Hollywood's top honor away from Hollywood's top movies. For all the talk about new technologies like 3D and CGI dominating cinema, it turned out that the oldest technology in movies was still the best of 2012.

11. Tom and Katie Call It Quits

It was the inexplicable romance that defined a tabloid era: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, aka TomKat, aka WTF? He's 50, she's, like, a teenager or something; he jumps on a couch to prove his love; they sell pictures of their baby to the makers of iPhone (or ... whatever). And what was the deal with that whole Scientology thing? For the last seven years, Tom and Katie have been a constant source of headlines, head-scratching and amazing Internet memes. But all of that came to an end this year, as the couple divorced amidst an all-new round of tabloid gossip and Hollywood rumors. The story of their marriage may finally be over, but whatever your opinion of TomKat, don't worry — the story of whatever comes next will no doubt be front page news, too.

10. 'The Hobbit' Is Here ... and It's a Trilogy!

Nine long years ago, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" debuted and went on to rake in over a billion dollars worldwide and earn 11 Oscars. So it seemed like a no-brainer that director Peter Jackson would follow it up with an adaptation of "The Hobbit." Now, almost a decade of legal wrangling and false starts later, that dream has finally become a reality. And it comes with a surprise twist, as Jackson announced earlier this year that "The Hobbit" was going to be a whole trilogy rather than just the originally planned two films. That's what we call making up for lost time.

9. Channing Tatum's Amazing Year

There have been stars in the past who have had big years, but it's rare that someone has had a year as amazing as the one Channing Tatum just completed. Not only did Tatum headline no less than three different films in three completely different genres — "The Vow" was a romance, "21 Jump Street" was a comedy and "Magic Mike was a drama — but all three went on to become massive box office hits. It wasn't long ago that Tatum was just that guy from "Step Up;" now he's a bona fide A-list international superstar. We can't wait to see what he does next.

8. 'Twilight' Ends

Ah, remember all those good times? Arguing with "Harry Potter" fans over which franchise was better? Arguing with "The Hunger Games" fans over which franchise was cooler? Arguing with each other over which "Twilight" star was hotter? Well, all that good, clean fun came to an end this year, as the "Twilight" phenomenon reached its hotly anticipated conclusion with "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2." Just what lies in store for stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart — not to mention author Stephenie Meyer's wildly popular characters Edward, Jacob and Bella — has yet to be seen, but one thing is sure: It will be a long time before we see another pop culture phenomenon as overwhelming as "Twilight." Just ask Katniss.

7. 'The Hunger Games' Mania Sweeps America

Speaking of which, just as "Twilight" came to an end this year, a new young adult heroine with a new film franchise and a new love triangle to argue over hit America like an arrow to the knee. Like "Twilight," "The Hunger Games" first built momentum as a popular series of novels (by author Suzanne Collins) before exploding onto the big screen in March. By the time "The Hunger Games" left theaters, it and star Jennifer Lawrence had become genuine pop culture phenomenons, capturing the attention of the entire country to the tune of $408 million domestically. And this is just the beginning: Taking a page from the "Twilight" playbook, the folks behind "The Hunger Games" have already announced they are turning the trilogy of books into four films, just to make sure you get as much Katniss and company as possible. Out with the old and in with the new.

6. Tony Scott Commits Suicide

For three decades, Tony Scott has been one of the most prominent and successful directors in Hollywood, creating popular films like "Enemy of the State," "Crimson Tide," "Unstoppable" and the iconic 1986 hit "Top Gun." On August 19, though, that all came to a shocking end when the 68-year-old younger brother of "Prometheus" director Ridley Scott took his own life by jumping off a Los Angeles bridge. The reasons for Scott's suicide are still unknown, but what is known is the terrible sadness and sense of loss all movie fans feel at the passing of a true artist. A senseless and unthinkable tragedy.

5. 'The Avengers' Dominates World Box Office

After years of build-up, 2012 finally gave us the payoff to one of the biggest gambles in film history: Marvel's attempt to create a shared universe comprised of several intersecting franchises. And that gamble provided an even bigger payoff than Marvel could have possibly anticipated, as Joss Whedon's epic superhero crossover "The Avengers" racked up over $1.5 billion worldwide, instantly turning "The Avengers" into the preeminent action franchise on Earth. With "Ion Man 3" and "Thor 2" set to hit theaters next year and "Avengers 2" already in the works, we may look back at 2012 as the year when Marvel took over Hollywood for good.

4. K.Stew Cheats On R.Pattz

Ever since they first burned up the big screen with their sizzling chemistry in 2008's "Twilight," rumors swirled that stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were secretly an off-screen couple as well as an on-screen sensation. So when they finally admitted as much, it came as a surprise to nobody; their seemingly perfect storybook romance just seemed fated to be. Which is why this summer's bombshell that K.Stew had been caught cheating on R.Pattz with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, sent shockwaves through both "Twilight" fandom and Hollywood in general. Now rumors are that they may or may not have gotten back together, but whatever the case, this is one news story that fans will never forget — and may never forgive.

3. Whitney Houston Dies

Celebrity death are, of course, nothing new; heck, there's a whole segment at the Oscars every year dedicated to the departed stars of the silver screen. But rarely has a death hit home for so many as the sudden and unexpected death of legendary singer and actress Whitney Houston. Houston, one of the most popular singers in pop history, was found dead in her hotel room on February 11 after drowning in her bathtub. The star of the 1992 smash hit "The Bodyguard" as well as several other '90s films, Houston had her final movie, "Sparkle," released posthumously in August; sadly, she never had a chance for the comeback she hoped the film would spark.

2. The Tragedy in Aurora

On the night of July 19, tens of thousands of fans across the country gathered at theaters to celebrate the midnight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises," the hotly anticipated finale to director Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. By the time the sun rose the next morning, the nation was in shock at the terrible news out of Aurora, Colorado, where a gunman opened fire inside a packed theater, killing 12 people and injuring 58 others. The tragedy cast a pall over the rest of the year in cinema and sparked a debate over gun laws and theater safety that continues to this day; the final legacy of the Aurora tragedy has yet to be written.

1. Disney Buys 'Star Wars'

For 35 years, George Lucas' "Star Wars" franchise has been the single biggest force in Hollywood and pop culture, spawning an empire (no pun intended) of movies, books, video games, toys, comics and basically anything else you can think of. Anything, that is, except the long rumored Episodes 7-9, which Lucas had announced he would never make. Well, guess what? At the end of October, Disney rocked Hollywood to its core with the stunning announcement that they were purchasing Lucasfilm and the rights to "Star Wars" for $4 billion — and that they would be filming Episodes 7-9 after all with the intent of landing the first new film in theaters as early as 2015. It's a game changer like none before it, with the potential to permanently reshape the face of popular entertainment. And with the same studio now owning both "Star Wars" and "The Avengers," well, we hope you like mouse ears, because the next decade at least belongs Disney.

As free spirit Marylou, Stewart gets to have a go with both Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund) and Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) on a roadtrip, but they aren't the only two things she sets free... if ya know what we mean.

Olivia Wilde, 'Deadfall'
It's been a solid six years since we saw Olivia in full "Girls Gone Wilde" mode in "Alpha Dog," but, for the Eric Bana drama, she got wild with a son of anarchy (Charlie Hunnam) in a full-on sex scene where she bared her bosoms. There's also some bra and panties action thrown in for good measure.

Rebecca Hall, Jo Newman and Laura Prepon, 'Lay the Favorite'
This one feels like a real cheat, seeing as how we only see Hall dancing in her underwear even though she's playing author Beth Raymer, who worked as an "in home stripper." To add insult to injury, we get a nude sunbathing scene where  Newman and "That '70s Show" star Prepon let it all hang out while Hall lies there in a bikini. No fair!

Olivia Munn, 'Magic Mike'
A lot of women might have been frustrated by a movie promoted as a male weiner-thon that actually had a lot more mam than man in it, as far as nudity is concerned. Director Steven Soderbergh knew dudes were gonna get dragged to this male stripper flick by their girlfriends, so he threw us a bone by having the former "Attack of the Show" host perpetrate a sneak attack with her maguppies. (We also want to tip our hats to Mircea Monroe, who also gives us all she's got about halfway through the movie).

Nadine Velazquez, 'Flight'
Leave it to normally family-friendly director Robert Zemeckis ("Who Framed Roger Rabbit," "The Polar Express," "A Christmas Carol") to give us four-star nudity in the first minute of his Oscar-bait drama. Velazquez (a regular on FX's "The League") is a flight attendant waking up next to Denzel Washington's hungover pilot. The camera follows her around the room fully naked in one glorious take before they both do bumps of cocaine. Holla!

Juno Temple, 'Jack & Diane' and 'Killer Joe'
"Little ditty about Jack and Diane, two American lesbians growin' up in the heartland." Sorry to paraphrase John Mellencamp, but we're just too excited about the two-for-one year this prodigious young beauty gave us, starting with this indie drama which made up for the lack of girl-on-girl action between her and Anne Hathaway in "Dark Knight Rises." Speaking of something rising, did we mention she goes FULL MONTY while trying a dress on in "Killer Joe?"

Jessica Chastain, 'Lawless'
"Zero Dark Thirty" has become a front-runner for Best Picture in recent days, but even though 30-year-old star Jessica Chastain's nude scene in "Lawless" is dark, it is definitely not a zero on the nudity scale. The stunning redhead walks into Tom Hardy's room in her birthday suit, although everything below the waist is shrouded in shadows. Sorry for those of you taking bets to see if the carpet matches the drapes.

Christina Ricci, 'Bel Ami'
Wednesday Addams done growed up. We hope Ricci was on Robert Pattinson's freebie list, because he got to get with her every which way in the period romantic sexcapade "Bel Ami." The former child star got to prove how firm and supple her acting skills were, and now that she's gone full frontal, it's okay by us if she wants to be a movie corset queen… so long as she takes off said corset.

Anne Hutchinson, 'Cabin in the Woods'
Her forest floor roll in the hay with Chris Hemsworth is just one Viking helmet away from being a Mighty Thor sex scene. Guess we'll have to wait for "Thor 3: Hammer Her Hard" for the whole deal, but, until then, enjoy one of the slyest, cleverest horror movies of the year with a healthy dose of Hutchinson's funbags.

Piper Perabo, 'Looper'
"Coyote Ugly" was pretty but tame, but Rian Johnson's sci-fi mind-bender "Looper" proved Perabo can do more than tease us relentlessly with bartop dancing. Getting into her role here as a nightclub stripper, she goes totally topless for a scene where she spoons a grieving Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Is it okay if we nickname her boobs Rocky and Bullwinkle?

Ashley Hinshaw, 'About Cherry'
Yeah about that cherry… POP! This indie flick centers around the San Francisco porn industry, particularly a young runaway named Angelina (Ashley Hinshaw) who seeks fame and fortune in the skin business. And I go, 'It's fantastic.' Tom's response? 'Then let's shoot it.'"

We have it on good authority that Django is NOT the only thing that gets unchained in Quentin Tarantino's hotly anticipated western. Apparently the Oscar-winner exposes his schlong and it really hangs there for a little while. That sounds like a "Ray" of hope for all the ladies out there.

The interwebs pretty much blew up with the inestimable rage of the Kristen Stewart faithful (up to and an including former "Panic Room" co-star Jodie Foster, who actually wrote an essay about it) after her ill-advised smooch session with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders was followed up with reports of her being dropped from the sequel... All the while he, a forty-something married father of two who was equally as involved, was expected to saddle right back up on his director's chair without consequence. "No fair!" cried the collective public.

Universal Pictures jumped in to put the kibosh on that potentially ugly rumor right away, declaring "any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false," but hasn't uttered a peep about the matter since the summer. 

Hope of her returning for movie two all but flitted away for most fans in the time since, and K.Stew was even quoted at "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" premiere last week to state she was "desperate to get a job."

Now, though, there's a little turnabout action going on with this story.

As detailed by Cinema Blend, there are now talks of Kristen Stewart reprising her role as Snow and Rupert Sanders being told to take a long hike in some. Evidently, Sanders might bow out gracefully from the project as he is "desperately still trying to save his marriage" and, presumably, re-linking with the project that caused it so much strain is not the bestest and brightest of ideas.

"Who knew a married director making out with his leading lady was a bad idea?" said no one ever.

The con is on for K.Stew.

The "Twilight" star is set to work a scam or two as she's set to join Ben Affleck in "Focus," according to Variety.

Stewart will play a young grifter who teams up with Affleck's experienced con man in the crime drama set to be written and directed by "Crazy Stupid Love" duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. The original intent was to have Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone re-team with the "Crazy" filmmakers for this project, but Warner Bros. swooped in and grabbed Affleck once he was deciding on what to do next after "Argo."

It's good to see K.Stew scoring a new acting gig, especially after she dropped out of "Cali" soon upon the aftermath of all that hootenanny with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director. Enough with the "cheating scandal" nonsense — get this girl in more movies!

No word on a start date for "Focus," though we've got a double bill of K.Stew before the year is out, with "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" opening Nov. 16 (which is, like, mere days away) and "On the Road" finally making a stop in the U.S. on Dec. 21.

Or is it? There were some hints that the door is open for more "Twilight," so read on for information about that and other press-conference revelations surrounding the last "Twilight" film, which opens in theaters everywhere on November 16.

1. Kristen Stewart Got in Touch with Her Tough Side: It's no secret that Bella is a vampire in the final "Twilight" movie, and Kristen Stewart was biting at the chance to play rough. "[Kristen] was dying to play a vampire," says director Bill Condon. "She'd watch everyone before and say, 'I can do that better.'" Adds Stewart, "I played a well-rounded version of a vampire. It's just a more realized version of who [Bella] has been the entire time. I broke my thumb maybe the first or second day. I had been on the sidelines so long ... itching to do it."

2. "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" Breaks the Ice About Imprinting with Humor: One of the most controversial elements of the book and movie is the idea that Jacob (Taylor Lautner) "imprints" (i.e. swears eternal allegiance to and develops a fixation for) Bella's baby, Renesmee. It's not meant to be sexual, but the concept is weird. "This is young adult fiction," says Condon. "It's not the world of Batman. It's got a different tone. It's an epic action movie with vampires, and at least some of them have to be funny." Says author Stephenie Meyer, "Taylor has some comedy in him. I'd like to see him do it again."

6. Surprise! The Ending of the Movie and the Book Are Different: There is a huge battle scene depicted between the Cullens and the Volturi at the end of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" that is evident in the trailer, so don't shout "spoiler" at us. You won't find the same details in the book, however. "I wouldn't call it an 'alternate ending,'" says Meyer. "It's off-screen in the novel. This is a way of making visual what other characters might have seen." Says Condon, "It was Stephenie Meyer's idea to change [the battle scene] at the end of the movie." He says he filmed the sequence on a white landscape because he envisioned the Cullens and Volturi as chess pieces moving across a board.

7. Stephenie Meyer Says Never Say Never About More "Twilight": "Permanence is a scary thing for me," says the "Twilight" author, who adds that she doesn't regret not getting inked ten years ago. "I'm not going to do [another book] today. I don't know how I am going to feel in five years."

14. Kristen Stewart Is Happy/Sad/Conflicted About "Twilight" Ending:  "I'm so happy that the story is told," says Stewart. "It's sad, it's strange, but things can't stay stagnant."

15. Don't Plan a Baby Shower for Kristen Stewart Just Yet: Although Bella has some tender scenes with Renesmee in "Breaking Dawn — Part 2," that doesn't necessarily mean that she is interested in exploring her maternal instincts offscreen. "I can't wait to be a mom … but I can wait," says Stewart.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" promises to be the most action-packed and - let's face it - bizarre of the five "Twilight" movie chapters. Vampires from all across the world, literally, will make way to Forks, Washington to get a gander at the half-vampire half-human love child of Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) and decide whether she's more of a menace to society than even the human blood-sucking community can tolerate.

So, it seems fitting that the extreme humor-themed MAD Magazine decided take one last bite of the "Twilight" pie just before the last film hits theaters.

MAD will be releasing an all-"Twilight" issue (#518) parodying the five movie installments next week, and judging by this cover for the issue, little Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) is a prime target for the punning.

MAD's editor-in-chief John Ficarra teased to Access Hollywood, "We tried to get celebrity help with this cover, but of the three, the werewolf was the only one that was approachable ... We really wanted to get Robert Pattinson involved, but didn’t have the budget for an eyebrow wrangler. We were all set up to work with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but they had to cancel because it conflicted with their weekly Brooding Lesson."

Sounds like Twi-Hards should brace for snarky cartooned impact.

Max Thieriot is not even 24 years old but has already worked with notable directors like Doug Liman, Atom Egoyan, Wes Craven and Nick Cassavetes. Thieriot made his big-screen debut in 2004's "Catch That Kid" opposite Kristen Stewart, with whom he remains close friends. You might recognize him as the younger version of Hayden Christensen's character in "Jumper" and for roles in movies like the horror film "My Soul to Take" and the psychosexual drama "Chloe."

In the thriller "House at the End of the Street," Thieriot plays a young man, Ryan, who lives in said house where both of his parents were brutally murdered. This has rendered him an outcast in the small community, but that doesn’t seem to bother Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence), who's moved in down the street with her overprotective mother (Elisabeth Shue) and who feels connected to Ryan. Is he really a nice guy who just had bad things happen to him or does mother know best?

We caught up with Thieriot just before "House at the End of the Street" opens in theaters on Friday and asked him important questions like how to pronounce his last name, how sexy it was or wasn't to play Hunger Games with Jennifer Lawrence's face on camera and his enduring friendship with K.Stew.

First of all, how do you properly pronounce your last name?
"Teer-ee-ut." That's how I say it, anyway. It's French, so I'm actually saying it wrong, but my family has always said it that way for whatever reason.

"House at the End of the Street" is being billed as a Hitchcockian thriller for a younger generation. Is that what attracted you to the project most?
No, reading the script is what initially attracted me to the project. I was surprised and shocked when I finished reading it. You can generally see what is coming with films in this genre, but not with this one. I was thinking about it. The character had so many different layers and he's so complex, so that was appealing. It's in the style of Hitchcock — who I'm a huge fan of — and I'll be diving into more of that soon.

You and Jennifer Lawrence have a long make-out session in "House at the End of the Street." How many takes did it take to do that scene, and how fun or awkward was it?
It was shot from a few different angles, so, like, ten? Eight? It's hard to say. It's funny because the first take was a little bit awkward and you're nervous, and then it becomes totally normal and you just continue to do it. It's like, "Oh, here we go again. Ready?" Obviously she's a very pretty girl, so … it doesn't suck.

In both "House at the End of the Street" and "My Soul to Take," you play characters that have to shift abruptly between different personalities. Exactly how many people live inside you?
On a normal day [Laughs]? I keep falling into this stuff, huh? It's fun to do it because it's challenging and makes me consciously aware of everything — even actions, like how I move. I try to steal little snippets of people I have met in my life and do research on psychopaths to get a feel for what makes a lot of these people tick and find some similarities and common ground between them.

What was your first acting gig?
"Catch That Kid" with Kristen Stewart and Corbin Bleu. It came out in 2004.

Do you remember what you bought with your very first paycheck?
I saved up to buy a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang. I finally got the car when I was 15.

Who is your acting inspiration?
I'm a big Johnny Depp fan as an actor, but recently it's kind of shifted. There are a lot of actors that are insanely talented, so I don't say who my favorite is anymore. There is Daniel Day-Lewis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Penn — there are too many. I would love to have Brad Pitt's career because I like 90% of the movies he's in. He does some awesome movies like "Legends of the Fall," "Snatch," "Fight Club" — I would trade anything to be in some of those movies.

What would you do if you weren't acting?
I used to race go-carts and do off-road racing for a long time, so I was kind of planning on racing cars. I started acting, so that shut down quickly. If not that, I don't know — I couldn't tell you.

You've co-starred with people like Kristen Stewart, Rachel Bilson and Jennifer Lawrence. Who is your dream love interest on-screen or an actress you think you'd have chemistry with?
It's obviously not Jen anymore because we've already done that. I'm really close friends with Kristen and have been since I started acting because she's the first person that I ever met. That might be a little difficult because we're so close, but at the same time maybe it would be easy because we're good friends. She appears in "Jumper" but I didn't have any scenes with her. We've been trying to do something together since then, but it didn't work out. I'm sure eventually we'll do something together.

Do people recognize you on the street?
It depends. People always say, "You look really familiar to me. Do I know you from somewhere?" And I'll just say, "No, I don't think so." I wouldn't say that happens all the time — usually in airports — and as long as I'm fairly clean-shaven because I don't have any movies coming out where I have a beard.

What projects are next for you?
"Disconnect" is a crazy, awesome movie in the style of "Crash" with three storylines combining. Mine is with Andrea Riceborough and I play a street kid who makes his money being an Internet webcam stripper — much darker than "Magic Mike," let's say. I did a film called "Yellow," which is Nick Cassavetes' next movie. I'm also in a movie called "Foreverland" but I don't know how much of a release it's going to get — probably limited.

For all our fellow "Twilight" fans, we all know things are coming to an end, movie-wise, with the highly anticipated release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," and although we're pretty sure we know how the final chapter finishes up (since we've read all of Stephenie Meyer's books), we've heard some rumblings to the contrary.

When MTV News recently caught up with leading lady Kristen Stewart at the Toronto International Film Festival where she was promoting "On The Road," she totally confirmed our suspicions! Not only that, but she also offered up a pretty decent review layered with vague/expert teasery, the kind only Stewart can deliver.

K.Stew is at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival in promotion of "On the Road," director Walter Salles' highly anticipated adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic novel that, for many, captured the spirit of the Beat Generation like no other. Toronto is showing a different cut than the one that was screened at Cannes earlier this year, and while Stewart likes both versions, she thinks this new one will appeal to the true Kerouac fans out there.

We Say: Forgetting, for a moment, all the drama that happened in the aftermath of this film (K.Stew hooking up with married director Rupert Sanders), the movie itself is visually arresting — a giant troll lurks under a bridge, the infamous mirror on the wall oozes into a gold river, fairies frolic in a magical forest — and it's fun to watch Oscar winner Theron chew all the scenery like a drag queen having a meltdown about getting old.

We Say: There might be something here of interest to new parents that spend nine months in wide-eyed amazement about all the weird and wonderful things a woman's body goes through during a pregnancy. For the rest of us, the stale bits of humor that seem like a tedious sitcom will induce morning sickness regardless of whether you are currently eating for two or not. "Expect" to be nauseated by fetus mania.

We Say: A sumptuous movie of this scope demands a high-definition presentation, and with this limited 3-D edition combo pack you have the choice of seeing the movie in two dimensions or three. Even if you're not onboard for 194 minutes of Kate and Leo courting on the high seas, the third act after the ship begins to go down is a must-see in 3-D.

Storyline: This documentary and companion piece to "Titanic" follows James Cameron, Bill Paxton and a team of marine experts on an expedition to the bottom of the ocean to explore the wreckage of "Titanic" with two robotic cameras.
Extras! This combo back includes a Blu-ray with the 60-minute theatrical feature as well as the 90-minute extended feature, but the Blu-ray 3-D only contains the original 60-minute movie. Also included on the standard Blu-ray is "Reflections From the Deep," which features bonus footage and more interviews with Cameron, Paxton and the entire crew.
We Say: If your heart still goes on about "Titanic," you'll want to go to the ocean floor with Cameron and take a look at the haunting images of the sunken ship in 3-D. The problem with this presentation is that it was originally shot for IMAX and features too many scenes with little video inserts on top of the main movie. This might have worked wonderfully on a giant IMAX screen, but even shrunken down to a relatively large 60-inch HDTV the impact is lost because the proportions are off for home viewing.
