Is that Zachary Quinto, the Chief Science Officer of "Star Trek Into Darkness," running from the horror of "Aftershock"? Ah, no, at second glance, that's actually Quinto's doppelganger, Eli Roth, the man who gave us "Cabin Fever" and shot Hitler full o' holes in "Inglourious Basterds."

Anyway, with "Aftershock" and the new "Trek" being released back-to-back, we figured this was the perfect time to match up our favorite Hollywood doubles as they compete for roles, attention and DNA. It's like looking into a mirror!

If you think your eyes are starting to play tricks on you, think of this like that Olsen Twins movie "It Takes Two," but without Steve Guttenberg.

Luscious "Gossip Girl" star Meester might be "Country Strong," but she more than met her match in Minka Kelly, who shone on "Friday Night Lights" as the lovely Lyla Garrity. The two of them actually got to face off, "Single White Female"-style, in 2011's horror thriller "The Roommate," when they entered freshman orientation together — but only one came out alive. Easy, ladies!

Logan Marshall-Green & Tom Hardy

After the one-three punch of "Bronson," "Inception" and "Warrior," Tom Hardy was the hunk du jour in Hollywood, but now a nearly identical upstart is nipping at his heels. After treading the boards Off- (and occasionally Off-Off-) Broadway, relative newcomer (and NextFactor highlight) Logan Marshall-Green began wriggling his way to the big time last summer via Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." Of course, Hardy's Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" could probably throat-punch an alien to death with his eyes closed.

Carey Mulligan & Michelle Williams

It's all about the gorgeous swan-like necks. Carey and Michelle could not be more different as actors; the former has an old-school, boisterous lightness while the latter, in both real life and on film, is introspective, reserved, even ethereal. We almost did a double-take in 2011 when Mulligan was seen on screen with Williams' "Blue Valentine" sweetheart Ryan Gosling in "Drive."

Javier Bardem & Jeffrey Dean Morgan

In their signature roles as Anton Chigurh in "No Country For Old Men" and The Comedian in "Watchmen," respectively, Bardem and Morgan pull off striking, bull-in-a-china-shop characters whose moral compasses have long since been flushed down the toilet. Oddly, strewn across their paths of destruction we find very real human fragments to latch onto ... and that's not on the page, it's in the performances. Still, we wouldn't want to run into either of these tough customers in a dark alley.

Josh Duhamel & Timothy Olyphant

These doppelgangers have yet to cross paths on screen, but when they do, it's sure to be electric. Olyphant first captured our attention as the lead in HBO's foulmouthed fan-favorite "Deadwood," then graduated to playing men of dubious intent in flicks like "Live Free or Die Hard." Duhamel is more the average all-American Joe type, playing a soldier for the "Transformers" trilogy and romantic leads in fluff like "Safe Haven." Does the U.S. Marshal on "Justified" need a half-brother?

Palmer has nearly nabbed roles in "Justice League," "Mad Max" and the "Spider-Man" movies, but this talented blonde will forever be in the shadow of her movie duplicate, Kristen Stewart. Despite different hair, they share a shocking resemblance. Palmer may be catching up to Stewart, though, as she recently starred as a human who swoons over a member of the undead (a zombie this time, in "Warm Bodies").

When you first saw "Spanglish" (if you did at all), you might have been wondering how they decided to pair Penélope Cruz with Adam Sandler, of all people. Only two years apart, these two need to get Pedro Almodóvar to write a movie where they're sisters, pronto. C'mon, Pedro, maybe sisters with a gay transvestite mother, hmm?

When did nerds stop seeking revenge on their jock oppressors and start warring amongst each other? Okay, so technically these two haven't directly engaged in combat, verbal or Thunderdome-style ... but there are still many who believe that when it comes to Cera & Eisenberg, two men enter, one man leaves. Despite the current Jesse-positive climate thanks to that little "The Social Network" movie and the upcoming "Now You See Me," these are both super-young dudes with plenty of awkwardness left to give.

Chris Hemsworth & Chris Pine

Playing father and son in 2009's "Star Trek" may have tipped these two Chrises off that they kinda sorta look alike. Hemsworth made his film debut playing James T. Kirk's ill-fated papa George for a scant few minutes, but it gave him the oomph he needed to impress the Marvel brass to pin him as The God of Freakin' Thunder, "Thor." Pine had to delicately dance around the iconic Shatner characterizations to make the Starship Enterprise his own, but he did, and has been unstoppable ever since.

When he's not hanging out in cabins or hostels, Roth occasionally moonlights on-screen for pals like Quentin Tarantino, for whom he relished machine-gunning Hitler in "Inglourious Basterds."

Now that Katy Perry is acting (she played super-hot Smurfette in "The Smurfs") and divorced from a famous husband, there may literally be nothing that separates her from her big-eyed mirror-image, Zooey Deschanel. Though Perry may be the bigger musical superstar for now, the swoon-worthy "New Girl" has been known to belt it out when she performs as one-half of She & Him, so watch out, Katy.

Alan Cumming & Paul Reubens

And speaking of Smurfs, we finally found two fellas who have come to terms with their lookalike status by agreeing to be in the same movie. In "The Smurfs" Reubens played the gag-gifting Jokey Smurf, while Cumming portrayed the newest character, Gutsy Smurf. Although these were voice-only roles, it was only a matter of time before these two get together for realsies (like they did at the "Pee-Wee" premiere on Broadway). Maybe if the show reopens, Cumming could appear as the depressive younger brother, WeePee Herman, who cries a lot?

Let's get this out of the way right up front: No, "Night Moves" is not the long-awaited Bob Seger biopic. Sorry, fans of the Silver Bullet will have to wait just a little bit longer for that elusive pipe dream to become a reality.

But according to Collider, "Night Moves" does have two other things going for it, namely the fact that Jesse Eisenberg and Dakota Fanning are in discussions to join the film as co-stars.

Rock on.

So just what is "Night Moves" all about? Well, according to the report, "'Night Moves' centers on three people who plan to blow up a dam, with Eisenberg as the ringleader, Fanning as the wealthy youth who funds their efforts and the previously reported Peter Sarsgaard as the technical man behind the bomb."

Of course, nothing is set in stone just yet; after all, Eisenberg himself is only up for the part because previous lead Paul Dano decided to drop out of the project. So a lot can still change between now and October, when the film is set to begin shooting.

Still, teaming Eisenberg with Fanning sounds like it's pretty much made of win, so here's hoping the two seal the deal. After all, we know the perfect guy to compose the soundtrack...

With his perpetually tweaking OCD personality, "Social Network" Oscar-nominee Jesse Eisenberg always gets the most cinematic mileage out of dropping himself into super-frantic situations, i.e. robbing a bank ("30-Minutes or Less") or hunting the undead ("Zombieland").

After already having played a drug mule in "Holy Rollers," Eisenberg's neuroticism is about to go full-tilt boogie in "Why Stop Now," the trailer for which just debuted via Yahoo! Movies.

The story finds Eisenberg's piano prodigy Eli having to check his mother Penny (Oscar-winner Melissa Leo) into rehab the same day as his big Juilliard audition. The pressure cooker really starts bubbling when the clinic refuses to check his insurance-less mom in unless she's under the influence.

Enter Tracy Morgan's drug dealer and a whole host of manic, oddball situations and illegal substance transactions that snowball into one lunatic day. Oh, and the trailer promises at least one scene of Eisenberg on Oxycodone, which should prove comedically fruitful.

The film is written and co-directed by veteran screenwriter Ron Nyswaner and young newcomer Phil Dorling, and based on their 2008 Sundance short "Predisposed." Melissa Leo played Penny in the short as well.

Leo and Eisenberg both joined the film last year in the wake of their Oscar night, and while eccentric indies about fractured families like this always get compared to "Little Miss Sunshine," if "Why Stop Now" is half as funny as it looks it could be worthy of the comparison.

You can watch it on VOD starting today, July 5th, before it hits select theaters on August 17.

Food trucks are so in right now, but working in one is no joke.

Meet Jillian, the anti-heroine of "Free Samples." Her life is a mess, and at the moment she's in charge of an ice cream truck despite a monster hangover and some rather poor decisions the night before. Or, in general, since she's dropped out of law school and bellied up to the bar.

"Free Samples" stars Jess Weixler as Jillian, Jesse Eisenberg as a would-be suitor, Halley Feiffer ("Bored to Death," "The Squid and the Whale") as Jillian's well-meaning friend and Jason Ritter as one of her unwitting customers/victims.

Jess Weixler first caught our eye in the horror/comedy "Teeth" about a teen who discovers she's got a rather biting problem between her legs. While she's appeared in indie films since then, it will be great to see her star in another feature, and hopefully this big premiere will be just the ticket.

"Free Samples" will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 20 as a Spotlight Feature. Other cool Spotlight films to keep your eye out for include "2 Days in New York" with Julie Delpy and Chris Rock, the period comedy about vibrators "Hysteria," Morgan Spurlock's documentary about male grooming "Mansome," and Sarah Polley's tear-jerking relationship drama "Take This Waltz" with Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams.

What happens when you pair up two of Hollywood's most respected young stars?

We're all about to find out, because word around Tinseltown is that Mia Wasikowska and Jesse Eisenberg have signed on to play hefty roles in the upcoming drama, "The Double."

Inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky's classic novella (one of the ones you were supposed to read in school, but didn't), the story follows an insignificant man who is driven to the brink of a breakdown by the appearance of his doppelganger.

No word yet on what parts Wasikowska and Eisenberg will play specifically, but we're pretty sure director Richard Ayoade has big plans for these two.

According to Deadline, Ayoade co-wrote the script with Avi Korine. If it's anything like his sleeper hit, "Submarine," which became one of the most talked about dramedies of 2011, Wasikowska and Eisenberg are in for a treat.

Shooting is slated to start as soon as this spring in the United Kingdom, which means it shan't be too long before we get to see this pair together on the silver screen — which is sure to double our viewing pleasure for audiences everywhere.

Turns out a whole slew of talent are updating their resumes in the hopes of being able to "Get a Job."

According to Variety, the CBS Films project from "Roger Dodger" director Dylan Kidd has yet to be greenlit, but is either in talks with or attaching actors the likes of "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston and "50/50" darling Anna Kendrick.

The company snagged the Black List script by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel in 2009, which "follows a college graduate and his friends who have to lower their expectations about life as they enter the real world during a recession." Hmm, sounds timely, or as timely as a four-year economic slump can be.

Cranston and Kendrick aren't the only applicants for this "Job," as "Footloose" up-and-comer Miles Teller is up for one of the leads, along with Christopher "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse ("Kick-Ass") and "SNL" cast member Jay Pharaoh in supporting parts and Kidd's "Dodger" star Jesse Eisenberg doing his old pal a solid in a cameo role.

Kidd's last feature directorial effort was eight years ago on the Laura Linney starrer "P.S.," for which the box office wrote a letter saying, "p.s.- better luck next time." Newly freed from director jail and sporting an exciting cast, hopefully Kidd can create a "Graduate"-esque, honest look at post-collegiate disappointment… otherwise he might just get a pink slip.

Jesse Eisenberg won't stand for this kind of horror.

The "30 Minutes or Less" star has filed a lawsuit Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment for throwing his name and face all over the DVD cover of the low budget horror film, "Camp Hell," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Eisenberg is barely in the movie for five minutes -- he filmed his small role back in 2007 as a favor to friends, way before he was nominated for an Oscar for his starring turn as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network."

Hey, if you're a low budget filmmaker (and a distributor of low budget films), you'll do whatever you can to get people to watch your movie, but Eisenberg is saying "like hell" to the marketing campaign of "Camp Hell." He's suing for $3 million, which is a hell of a lot more than the movie's actual budget.

Apparently, Eisenberg is just trying to protect his fans, because God forbid someone shells out their hard-earned cash for a DVD of "Camp Hell" only to find that their hero makes but a mere cameo appearance in the film about the demonic infestation of a Christian Bible camp.

Anyway, you've been warned, Jesse Eisenberg fans -- stay far away from "Camp Hell," for therein lies nothing but bitter disappointment.

William Faulkner advised authors to "kill your darlings," but we're thinking this isn't quite what he meant.

Daniel Radcliffe's next role is rumored to be the famous poet Allen Ginsberg involved in the long-gestating "Kill Your Darlings," a film about three of the most important Beat generation figures and a curious murder.

"Darlings" is the story of Ginsberg and his friendship with Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr, who is credited as being one of the founders of the Beat generation. Carr introduced many of the writers to each other; he even turned Ginsberg onto Rimbaud and was the first person to ever read a draft of "On the Road."

Carr also served time for the killing of David Kammerer. Carr's defense painted Kammerer as a man obsessed, whose unwelcome and threatening advances pushed Carr to murder him in self-defense. However, this is just the official version of the story, and frankly, it's the kind of homophobic defense that one that would float back in the '40s when Carr was originally tried. Some folks definitely have their doubts.

Writer/director John Krokidas will make his feature-length debut with "Darlings." Christine Vachon is on board as a producer, and with her pedigree of edgy, indie movies about artists, love, and sexual obsession like "I'm Not There," "Savage Grace," "Party Monster," and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," it's entirely possible that the story might be a little more kind towards Kammerer than history has.

At one point, Jesse Eisenberg was set to star as Ginsberg with Chris Evans as Kerouac and Ben Whishaw as Carr, although that news first broke in 2009, long before Evans took up the shield of Captain America. So far, there's no starting date, but as Twitch's Todd Brown points out, Radcliffe told a French publication that he'd play a gay character in 2012, so it's likely that's the time frame we're looking at.

Do you prefer your Jesse Eisenberg movies a little more "Zombieland" than "The Social Network"? If so, "30 Minutes or Less" is made to order. Don't get us wrong, Eisenberg nailed his Oscar-nominated role as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher's timely drama; but the character, unlike Eisenberg in real life, was totally unlikable and not as fun to watch.

In the raunchy action-comedy "30 Minutes or Less," Eisenberg reteams with "Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer to play Nick, a delivery guy who has to pay for a lot of his customers' pizzas owing to his inability to deliver the dough in the guaranteed 30 minutes or less. Nick's also on the outs with his BFF Chet (Aziz Ansari) because Nick confessed that he slept with Chet's twin sister, Kate (Dilshad Vadsaria), once on graduation night and would like to do so on a regular basis.

Across town, Dwayne (Danny McBride) and Travis (Nick Swardson) are two criminally minded morons who resent living under the thumb of Dwayne's father, a militant lottery winner who is squandering his loot fast. While getting a lap dance from "Juici" at a strip joint, Dwayne is told by her that she knows someone who will off his old man for $100,000. Soon Dwayne and Travis don ape masks, kidnap Nick and force him to rob a bank for them to get the money for the hit man. Nick is locked into a vest with a ticking bomb, so suddenly the pizza guy with punctuality problems has to smooth things over with Chet to get help robbing a bank and delivering the cash before things get decidedly more "Hurt Locker" for him.

"30 Seconds or Less" would be just another silly heist flick were it not for a lot of witty, quick-fire banter between the members of its talented cast and some back-and-forth double crosses that keep the 83-minute film breezing along at a snappy pace. McBride's dry, unapologetic approach to knocking over a bank ("If wanting a lot of money is gay, then, yeah, I am Elton John") is in perfect contrast to Eisenberg's patented smartass-nerd schtick. There are even some loaded, seemingly throwaway comments that are subtle references to Eisenberg's real life, like when Nick says he doesn't bother with Facebook (which Zuckerberg, his character in "The Social Network," founded) and says that he never watched "The Hurt Locker" (the movie that beat "The Social Network" for the Best Picture Oscar).

Although it's not quite "The Hangover" in terms of crude humor and violence, this R-rated race against time never runs out of laughing gas thanks to Eisenberg and McBride's never missing a comic beat.

Extras! Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain deleted scenes, outtakes and "Blowing Up With the Cast and Crew of '30 Minutes or Less.'" The Blu-ray adds picture-in-picture commentary with director and cast, "The Perfect Crime: Action and Comedy in '30 Minutes or Less'" featurette, and "30 Minutes or Less" themes and wallpaper for your PS3.

Look lively, James Franco fans - there's a new, younger Franco on the market. Pros: Doesn't make a living hacking off his appendages on film. Cons: No Twitter photos of him napping with kittens.

Dave Franco, the younger brother of the "127 Hours" star, is seeing his career gain momentum with a new role in Summit Entertainment's upcoming crime thriller "Now You See Me."

Deadline reports that Franco, who acted opposite Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell in the 2011 remake of horror classic "Fright Night," will tackle a leading role in Louis Leterrier-directed movie.

Franco will star as one of the Four Horsemen, a group of illusionist bank robbers being sought by the FBI, alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher and Melanie Laurent.

While Franco's greatest claim to fame may still be his impassioned, pantsless love declarations to Christopher "McLovin'" Mintz-Plasse, it looks like he will soon be as recognizable as his older brother, with upcoming roles in the remake of "21 Jump Street," opposite Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, and "Warm Bodies" with "Skins" star Nicholas Hoult.

Jesse Eisenberg's acting credits include a little bit of everything, from "Adventureland" to "Zombieland" to that little film you may have heard of called "The Social Network" (which earned him an Oscar nomination earlier this year).

"30 Minutes or Less" gets him back in touch with his comedy roots as Nick, an unfortunate pizza delivery boy who's forced to rob a bank with a bomb strapped to his chest. Talk about a bad day.

While his roles vary from hilarious to tragic, they all share one common thread: They have to strike Eisenberg as "authentic." We sat down with him to talk about bringing real-life stories to the big screen, the possibilities of a "Zombieland 2" movie, and... wait, what did someone just put on his bike?

There's been some controversy around this movie because it's based on a real event that ended with a guy getting killed. Is that something you were concerned about -- making a comedy out of a real-life tragedy?
You know, this is something I dealt with when we were shooting "The Social Network," too. I was asked similar questions about having to account for something else. My job as an actor is very specific and very limited to taking my role seriously. Whether the movie is a drama or a comedy, my job remains the same -- to take my role seriously and to play it as authentically as I can, so that's what I did with this movie.

What I really liked about the comedy in this script was that it was derived from realistic situations. You've got these two lazy guys who are forced to do this insane thing, so they're watching "Point Break" to get tips on bank robberies and buying fake guns at the dollar store because they're poor. Those scenes really struck me.

You and Aziz Ansari, who plays your best friend, have great chemistry. Was it as much fun as it looks?
He's really funny so it keeps it fresh, but my sense is that chemistry is not this kind of lucky thing that you either stumble upon or don't stumble upon. I's something you work on.

My character is dismissive of Aziz's character because he's jealous of Aziz's character's life decisions. He has a real job and he's working towards something, and my character feels that he has been left behind. I can understand what that feels like, and I think a lot of other people can, too.

You were really driving most of the time. Is that something you already knew how to do or were there lessons?
Well, the recklessness is in my blood a little bit. My dad was a taxi driver in Queens when I was born, so I was in situations like that a lot. [laughs] And then, I also ride a bicycle, and with a bike in New York you have to ride recklessly because there's no other way to do it. So it was fun driving in these scenes because I knew I could be as reckless as I naturally am and not get into an accident.

Actually, my bike is outside the window right now and I just saw someone tie a plastic bag to it, which I really hope isn't anything weird. But it's weird that someone just did that, right?

You've had a lot of interesting roles. How has life changed post-"Social Network?"
Well, it hasn't really changed that much. I mean, 90% of movies that come out are really bad, and for a movie to even come out means it got made, which is just really difficult to even get that to happen. So, yeah, I get sent more scripts now, but my job as an actor remains the same.

Have you been in contact with Zuckerberg at all?
My job in that film was to just to play my character, and we did the best we could to make that character authentic, so, no.

What's up with "Zombieland 2"?
Well, everyone who worked on it really liked it and thought the end product was really wonderful, especially [considering] what it could have been and everything that could have gone wrong, since it blended horror and comedy. It's hard to get that that combo to work, but I think the final product was so right that everyone would like to do it if there was a script.

But now, Ruben [Fleischer] is busy for a while, and I'm busy through mid-year next year, and Emma [Stone] and Abigail Breslin are all doing a million things, so my sense is that it's going to be near impossible to put it together.

What's coming up next for you?
I leave tomorrow for the Woody Allen movie in Rome.

Is there a dream role that's very different that we haven't seen you play yet?
The truth is that most characters in movies are totally inauthentic, and it doesn't interest me to play any character that's inauthentic. What's interesting to me is to have some kind of an emotional experience over the course of the filming, because I have no other release from my own anxiety; so to be able to do this movie where this character is dealing with this real fear, and I get to deal with the emotional reaction to that on a daily basis, is a great release for me.

What do you think of the term "bromance"?
I don't like any kind of genre qualification for things I'm in because my experience on a movie is this authentic, emotional experience -- not to self-aggrandize -- but that's kind of the experience it is for me.

Well, I've seen everything I've been in once. This ['30 Minutes or Less'] I haven't seen yet. The experience of acting in something just doesn't mirror the experience of the final product, so it's just jarring to see it. As you can imagine, I don't like any kind of qualification because it doesn't coincide with my feelings about the experience. In this movie I have all of these very complicated feelings about my friend who Aziz plays, and his sister, and I really tried to make these tensions real for myself.

Ruben Fleischer's upcoming, "30 Minutes or Less" stars Jesse Eisenberg as a pizza delivery boy coerced into robbing a bank by two thugs (Danny McBride and Nick Swarsdon), who strap a bomb to his chest and threaten to detonate him.

And while this action comedy delivers the goods with some serious laughs, the real-life incident that inspired the flick was no laughing matter.

On August 28, 2003, Pennsylvania pizza man Brian Wells met with accomplices in a premeditated plot to rob an area bank using a fake bomb collar as a prop so he could feign innocence if caught. However, unbeknownst to Wells, his cohorts strapped an actual bomb to him—changing the game considerably.

After Wells was only able to collect $8,000 of the $250,000 he demanded at PNC Bank, he began frantically hunting down clues that would release him from the bomb. When the police finally caught up to him, he pleaded for help removing the device (which he by now realized was all too real), only to have it detonate, killing him instantly.

Not surprisingly, Wells's surviving family members are none too pleased with Hollywood making light of their tragedy, Movie Line relates. His sister stated, "It's hard for me to grasp how other human beings can take delight and pride in making such a movie and consider it a comedy. I don't think it's funny to laugh at the innocent who are victimized by criminals, who care nothing for human life."

A Sony rep responded: the defense? Ignorance.

"Neither the filmmakers nor the stars of '30 Minutes or Less' were aware of this crime prior to their involvement in the film," he said. "The writers were vaguely familiar with what had occurred and wrote an original screenplay that does not mirror the real-life tragedy."

Hmm. It's a little hard to buy Sony's defense, but the real question is whether this controversy will hurt or help at the box office.

Jesse Eisenberg and writer/director Richard Ayoade are teaming up for what is sure to be the most adorable, hyperliterate and neurotic adaptation of a Dostoyevsky work ever, Vulture reports.

Eisenberg, whose next film "30 Minutes or Less" is holding up theaters on August 12, will star in "The Double," one of the few Dostoyevsky works not assigned to English students everywhere ever.

In "The Double," government worker Yakov Petrovich Golyadkin is going a tad batty as he's convinced that his doppelganger is stealing his life, from his job to his name. Plus, he's doing it way better than Golyadkin! His doppelganger is everything Golyadkin isn't, and, frankly, it's making our hero a little loco. Is he imagining it? Or does he really have a Double making him feel like even more like a loser?

Ayoade told The Guardian earlier this year, "[It's] A sort of doppelganger tale, and funny, I think… Dostoevsky never finished it to his satisfaction. We're going to dust that off. We'll do what Fyodor couldn't." He's working on the script with Avi Korine, who cowrote "Mister Lonely" with his brother Harmony Korine. (Yes, Harmony Korine of "Trash Humpers" and "Gummo.")

Of course, bear in mind that Ayoade is a natural comedian known for his self-deprecating demeanor, so he's probably wigging out Moss-style at the temerity of this project. Moss, for those of you not in the know, is Ayoade's character on the hit Brit TV series "The IT Crowd." He works in the basement with his buddy Roy, played by Chris O'Dowd, and wears high water pants and thick glasses.

Based on Ayoade's sweet and strange film "Submarine" and the episode of "Community" he directed inspired by "My Dinner With Andre," as well as the characters he's played, this novella about an awkward loner is right up his alley. You might say it's his specialty. Pairing him with Eisenberg, who's known for his portrayal of similarly troubled outsiders and neurotics, is a genius move. "The Double" is sure to be less AP English and more art house favorite.

Legendary director Woody Allen is flying high with his critically-acclaimed "Midnight in Paris" doing bang up business in the current art house scene, but he's never been one to slow down. He already has a new film gearing up to shoot, with a cast to impress. Eat your heart out, "New Year's Eve."

Allen's always had a knack for casting the best in the biz (specifically, adorable leading ladies) and his next, "The Bop Decameron," is no exception.

Set to roll this July in Rome the movie will star the previously rumored Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin and Penelope Cruz, as well as "Arthur" star Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill of "Scott Pilgrim" and Oscar-winning Italian savant Roberto Benigni.

If that wasn't enough, Allen himself will step back in front of the screen for the film, his first acting role since 2006's "Scoop."

Little is known about the project, but the title hints at a connection to "The Decameron," a series of 100 novellas written by Giovanni Boccaccio in the 1300s. The stories tackle love in all its incarnations -- a subject matter that Allen has dabbled with over his lengthy career and one he could expand on with a solid ensemble cast.

"Bop Decameron" will wrap later this year, so look out for it early in 2012.

Leading his friends on a quest to find and destroy the six Horcruxes that could bring down Voldemort, Harry must contend not just with the dangers of his mission, but also with the potential fracturing of his friendship with Ron. The fact that Radcliffe -- whose acting has matured alongside Harry's wizarding skills -- plays it all so well? That ain't magic, son.

Jesse Eisenberg, 'The Social Network'

Previously, Jesse Eisenberg was known for playing geeks ("Zombieland," "Adventureland"). But in "The Social Network," he plays... well, fine, a geek. Yet what a geek he is! Arrogant, brilliant and alienating, this Mark Zuckerberg isn't particularly a guy we'd want to befriend (though we'd totally friend him on Facebook, because he's Mark Zuckerberg). But thanks to Eisenberg's masterful performance, he's never less than compelling to watch. Not bad for a nerd.

Guys, it takes a lot more than soulful gazes, heartfelt declarations of love and awesome hair to play Edward Cullen, aka The Hottest, Most Sensitive Vampire Ever. Just you try tearing a man's jugular out one second and then proposing to your sweetheart the next. But seriously... There's a reason R.Pattz has captured the hearts of many a teenage (and grown-up) girl, and it's that he's sympathetic and believable as the immortal who, against all reason, is passionately in love with a mere human. How can Bella resist? How can we?

Taylor Lautner, 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'

If there were an MTV Movie Awards category for Best Abs, Mr. Lautner would win that thing hands-down. Alas, there is not... but he's still got a chance for the burgeoning Team Jacob to vote him into the top spot here. In "Eclipse," Jacob has some fairly reasonable arguments in favor of Bella's picking him, including "We're both human, kinda," and "I can keep you warm at night with my -- oops! -- shirtless body." And in all fairness to Lautner, there's far more to his portrayal of Jacob than mere shirtlessness. Anyone who's ever suffered from unrequited love (or in this case, semi-requited love) can relate.

Zac Efron, 'Charlie St. Cloud'

Universal

Efron gained fame for the "High School Musical" movies, but he's since proven that he has real acting chops, in "17 Again," the indie "Me and Orson Welles" and now "Charlie St. Cloud." Critics didn't love the weepfest of a film, but even those who trashed the movie praised Efron's clear-eyed, nuanced performance as a graveyard caretaker who can't move beyond the death of his younger brother. It's clear that Efron has graduated from teen fare -- now all he needs is a movie worthy of his talents. Who would have thought we'd ever say that about basketball stud Troy Bolton?

Jesse Eisenberg is growing up... and possibly going back to his roots.

We have writer-director Noah Baumbach to thank for giving the "Social Network" star what was arguably his breakout role, the quietly suffering Walt Berkman in "The Squid and the Whale."

Now, Eisenberg and Baumbach are looking to reunite for another family drama, "While We're Young," according to 24 Frames.

"While We're Young" follows a 40-ish childless couple that begins to feel alienated as their other married friends start having babies. They soon strike up an unlikely friendship with a younger couple... and we're assuming things get rather interesting from there.

The days of Eisenberg playing a teenager look to be over, as he'd be playing one half of the younger couple. Ben Stiller, who recently worked with Noah Baumbach on "Greenberg," will be playing one half of the older couple, with Naomi Watts in talks to co-star as his wife. No word yet on who will be playing Eisenberg's ladyfriend.

Formal deals haven't been made with Eisenberg and Watts yet, so nothing's confirmed at this time. James Franco and Cate Blanchett were originally attached to play the roles, though they both fell out of the project in recent months (did Franco finally play the "I'm too busy" card?).

Jesse Eisenberg's voice work was recently featured in "Rio" and he'll next be seen in the comedy "30 Minutes or Less," opening Aug. 12. He'll be shooting Woody Allen's new film, "Bop DeCameron," in Mexico this summer.

An Oscar nomination at the age of 27 is an impressive feat, but following it up with something remotely close in quality is even more difficult. Jesse Eisenberg finds himself in that position after earning a Best Actor nom for "The Social Network" at last year's Academy Awards -- but any chance of a dip post-Academy Awards is quickly abolished after once look at his new film: "30 Minutes of Less."

A red band trailer for the movie has popped up on IGN and while it may not pack the sharp, snappy dialogue or slow burn drama of "Social Network," it certainly has its own fair share of wit, character dynamic and adrenaline. Only this time, it's coming from two guys trying not to get blown to smithereens by explosives.

Eisenberg, who reunited with his "Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer for "30 Minutes," looks surprisingly energetic in the trailer, while delivering a spin on his usual neurotic presence. The young actor plays Nick, a pizza delivery guy who hands off a pie to two criminals who enlist the townie in their bank robbery scheme. Co-starring in the film are Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari and comedian Nick Swardson, and the movie's blend of fast talking comedy, car chases and sticky situations is eerily reminiscent to the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy "Pineapple Express," but with a twinge of Midwestern feel.

"30 Minutes or Less" hits theaters on August 12, and if Eisenberg and the cast look as strong as they do in this quick two-minute NSFW trailer, it could be the breakout hit as summer comes to a close.

He may have played it (somewhat) cool in "The Social Network," but Jesse Eisenberg will return to his nervous nerd roots by teaming up with fellow neurotic nebbish Woody Allen for a new comedy.

Besides that stroke of genius casting, "Juno" star Ellen Page — no stranger to portraying characters with quirks — has also joined the flick, along with Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin, reports Variety.

The still-untitled film — Allen's 42nd feature — is slated to begin shooting in Rome this summer, but the actor/director says not to expect any amore between himself and Cruz or Page.

"I can't be the love interest any more. I can't play opposite Scarlett Johansson, it's not appropriate," Allen told Guardian in March, referring to the leading lady of his films "Match Point," "Scoop," and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" (the latter film earned Cruz a best supporting actress Oscar).

"So what can I do? I'd love to have a wonderful tour de force part with Diane Keaton but the problem is… doing what? Nobody wants to see two septuagenarians get it on."

Unless, of course, one of them is Betty White. Mr. Allen, get on the phone pronto!

It's been more than 20 years since New York-mainstays Alec Baldwin and Woody Allen joined forces on a feature film, but that's about to change.

The "30 Rock" icon — who last worked with Allen on "Alice" in 1990 — has officially committed to star in Woody's next flick, an untitled comedy that will shoot in Rome, Deadline reports.

Allen has just started to put this film together (maybe that's why it still doesn't have a name), though word on the street is that the director already has his sights set on another male lead du jour, "The Social Network"'s Jesse Eisenberg.

Whoa. Allen must some snazzy dialogue up his sleeve to handle those two fast-talkers. And they'd be joining Penelope Cruz, who's also lining up for a second outing with Allen.

But we'll have to wait a while to see which of them triumphs in the verbal banter department, as Baldwin still has to shoot the "Rock of Ages" musical with Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand and possibly Amy Adams.

In other words, Baldwin is a busy man.

Oscar-nominated powers unite!

Vulture reports that, fresh from Sunday night's glamorous ceremony, Melissa Leo and Jesse Eisenberg will forego their previous cinematic rivalry to co-star in the indie comedy "Predisposed."

Leo took home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in "The Fighter," while Eisenberg watched Colin Firth snatch the Best Actor trophy, for which he was also in the running. Obviously, a vacation was not in the works for either actor.

In the film, Leo plays the drug-addicted mother of Eisenberg's scholarly teen, whose Julliard interview happens to be the same day his mother decides to commit herself to rehab. Unfortunately, without insurance, the only way she'll manage to get in is by showing up intoxicated.

Tracy Morgan ("30 Rock") is also in talks to join the cast as Leo's drug dealer.

"Predisposed" is based on a 2009 Sundance short written by Ron Nyswaner, who was previously nominated for the Oscar for his work on "Philadelphia" in 1994. This time, he'll also take the directing duties. Few comedies get this kind of pedigree.

In the wake of the Academy Awards, this project has quickly become one to look out for, and from the sound of the material, an easy way for both Leo and Eisenberg to find themselves back in front row seats for a future ceremony. Don't worry Jesse, you'll get your due someday!

Before "The Social Network" hit theaters last year, we're guessing few Americans knew the behind Facebook. 

That's all changed in past few months, which have seen Mark Zuckerberg appear on "60 Minutes" and become Time's Man of the Year. People also know Jesse Eisenberg was actually playing a real guy in his Oscar-nominated performance in "The SocialNetwork," and the buzz was that Zuckerberg was none too pleased about how he was portrayed onscreen.

But if so, that's water under the bridge now, thanks to "Saturday Night Live." 

Zuckerberg not only proved he was fine with all things Eisenberg and "The Social Network," but that he has a sense of humor about it all. The Facebook founder made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" last night, happy to be the butt of a few jokes. Zuckerberg even cracked a few of his own -- "I invented Poking!" -- as he forced an awkward confrontation with his imitator.

And is it just us, or does he seem to be doing an Andy Samberg impression while hiding out backstage with Lorne Michaels?

As Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and previous Oscar-winner Mo'Nique announced the 83rd Academy Award Nominations early this morning, they triggered an outpouring of seriously happy campers.

Enjoy Ricky Gervais' Golden Globes performance now as it'll probably be the last time you see him host the award show.

The comedian eviscerated everyone from Tom Cruise to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) -- aka the people that vote on and run the Golden Globes -- in a devastating opening that most likely earned him a spot on the "Do Not Invite" list next year.

Hollywood's loss is our gain, though, as Gervais imbued the superficial proceedings with rare jolts of earnestness and sincerity, tearing away the veneer of fake smiles and polite applause in favor of numerous "He's going to get beat up backstage" moments.

But it wasn't all about Gervais. While the only real surprise came with Paul Giamatti's upset win over Johnny Depp for Best Actor - Comedy or Musical, there were still myriad best and worst moments, including...

BEST Ricky Gervais Amputates the Hand that Feeds Him

Charlie Sheen. Angelina Jolie. Johnny Depp. Cher. Scientologist actors. The HFPA themselves. No one was spared in Gervais' scathing, honest, hilariously awkward opening monologue. You can watch the whole thing here, but we're particular to Gervais calling out the HFPA on the rumors that "The Tourist" was nominated for Best Picture solely to lure Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. "That is not the only reason," said Gervais. "They also accepted bribes." Ouch.

WORST Christian Bale's Mysteriously Censored Words to Robert De Niro

After thanking his requisite co-stars and other nominees for Best Supporting Actor – Drama, "The Fighter"'s Christian Bale mentioned Robert De Niro's toward the end of his speech before NBC silenced Bale's words to the actor. We can only speculate why Bale was gagged and what was said but we're guessing it was "Raging Bull"-related. Either that, or Bale made an obvious, if not entirely appropriate, "Little Fockers" joke.

BEST HFPA President Philip Berk Sasses Back at Gervais

Like middle schoolers at a sleepover dutifully thanking the parent for letting them crash, every awards show features a few unnecessary moments with the head of the respective awards committee. Eva Longoria, doubtless wondering who she pissed off to get this job, introduced HFPA President Philip Berk, who replied to Gervais' intro ("I had to help the HFPA president off the toilet and pop his teeth back in!") with "Ricky, the next time you want someone to qualify your movies, go to another guy." The tongue was presumably in cheek, right?

This is why we watch these shows. In introducing Robert Downey Jr., Gervais read off some of the actor's less notable movies including "Up the Academy," "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," and "Two Girls and a Guy" before asking, "Are these porn titles?" It only got more awkward. "Though many of you probably know him best from the Betty Ford clinic and the L.A. County Jail." Downey Jr.'s response? "Aside from the fact that it's been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I'd say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far, no?" Yeah. He wasn't happy. (By "Worst," we of course mean "awkward." We wholeheartedly endorse more of these moments.)

BEST Natalie Portman's Best Actress Speech

Portman gave one of the most heartfelt speeches of the night, thanking her fiancé, father of her child and "Black Swan" co-star and choreographer Benjamin Millepied for "totally wanting to sleep with me." After thanking co-star Mila "Sweet Lips" Kunis (her words, not ours) and her parents, who were in the audience supporting their daughter, Portman recalled meeting with "Swan" director Darren Aronofsky ten years ago to begin talks on the film and thanked the director for "giving me such a beautiful gift with this role." A collective "Awww" was heard across the country.

At around 9:30, 90 minutes into the broadcast, the house announcer began introducing the talent, a role presumably delegated to Gervais. 30 minutes later, there was still no sign of the host, as Twitter began to float various conspiracy theories on the comedian's absence. By 10:15, it became the elephant in the room. Did the Church of Scientology throw him in the back of a van and try to up his OT levels? Did Robert Downey Jr. imprint his ring on the comedian's forehead? Did the HFPA give him the Hollywood version of a "time out" and put him in the corner of the Beverly Hilton? Gervais would return at 10:30, not addressing the mysterious absence but a bit tamer in his jokes (before ending the broadcast with, "I'd like to thank God for making me an atheist.")

BEST Michael Douglas Gets Standing Ovation

If there's one thing Hollywood loves more than redemption stories and congratulating itself, it's tales of survival. Michael Douglas's recent bout with cancer, a disease the actor said has been cured, prompted the audience to give him a standing ovation before the actor presented the award for Best Picture – Drama. "There's got to be an easier way to get a standing ovation," joked the actor.

WORST Matt Damon's intro to De Niro's Award

The "True Grit" star, who appeared in De Niro's 2006 film "The Good Shepherd," gave an overlong, awkward and painfully unfunny intro to set up De Niro's award. We'll spare you the details, but it centered around Damon's faux-unfamiliarity with De Niro's work and realizing that he was in a lot of good movies. Ha?

BEST Robert De Niro Accepts the Cecil B. DeMille Award

In accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award, an award bestowed upon one person annually who has made "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment," Robert De Niro showed off both his classy and self-deprecating sides. The film legend thanked the HFPA before stating, "I was very, very moved when you made the announcement two months ago, well before you had the chance to review 'Little Fockers.' I saw those." He would go on to make fun of some of his much-maligned films including "Frankenstein" and "Jacknife," saying, "I'll be selling them in the lobby right after I pose for more pictures with the HFPA." Never one to hold his tongue, De Niro let loose an awkward joke about the members of the HFPA getting deported along with "most of the waiters." Is this thing on? But overall, it stood as one of the more interesting speeches of the night.

WORST Andrew Garfield's Introductory Speech to "The Social Network"

We'll give Andrew Garfield some leeway given that it's live television but we still chuckled at the actor's numerous attempts to get out the phrase "inspiringly written" when discussing Aaron Sorkin's script for "The Social Network." At first, we thought Garfield might be making fun of "The King's Speech," in which Colin Firth plays the stammering King George VI, until realizing that the flub was genuine.

BEST "The Social Network" wins Best Picture

Okay, David Fincher's Facebook movie was the odds-on favorite to win so this wasn't exactly a shock, but it was still cool to see the familial cast and crew prepare for their inevitable Oscar speech. Reclusive actors Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield – two men known for their aversion to events, awards and press – had to be genially forced on stage to accept the award with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, director David Fincher and the others.

As aging, decrepit lawman Rooster Cogburn, Bridges further cemented his legend status and stepped out from under the shadow of John Wayne to put his own spin on the Western hero. His iteration of Cogburn is more Dude than Duke and, with the aid of old bowling buddies the Coen Brothers, he might have a shot at doubling his Oscar winnings and becoming the first since Robert De Niro ("Godfather: Part II") to win for a role someone played previously.

Robert Duvall, 'Get Low'

Playing an ornery old-codger may not be a stretch for Robert Duvall at this point, but he proved once again that nobody does it better and with more vitality than this Oscar winner (and five-time nominee). As a reclusive hermit holding a living funeral for himself, Duvall created another in a long, versatile line of indelible characters, and even if he doesn't take home the gold this year there's still plenty of life left in this 80-year-old.

Eisenberg's unique take on Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is so electric you can hear his synapses hum. The rising star turned the billionaire supergenius into a character whose mental and verbal gymnastics far exceed his tact, and that's why we love him. You hear words like "iconoclastic" and "iconic" to describe this performance, but it's turned Eisenberg into just plain "icon." With a slew of wins and nominations he stands a better chance than anyone of beating the frontrunner…

Colin Firth, 'The King’s Speech'

This veteran British performer has managed to stammer his way into critics' hearts, and has long been considered the dead-on, take-it-home-to-mama LOCK for the Oscar. As the vocally-challenged King George VI whose transformation into the confident, authoritative speaker his country needed, Firth delivers a third act speech with a voice that has moved audiences beyond anything this year… well, except maybe Ted Williams. Colin, start waxing that trophy mantle.

James Franco, '127 Hours'

For his captivating, bravura portrayal of real-life climber Aron Ralston's harrowing ordeal pinned to a rock for six days straight, everyone's favorite polymath actor and "General Hospital" resident is soaking up nominations like a surgical sponge. Franco's most powerful, dramatic moment in the film, the infamous arm-cutting scene, may also have been enough of a turnoff to older voters. This "Castaway"-esque solo turn still deserves all the positive recognition it's getting.

Ryan Gosling, 'Blue Valentine'

Who would have thought this former Mouseketeer would turn into the Brando of our time, but there it all is onscreen: the same raw, sensitive spontaneity you'd find in "On The Waterfront" can be seen with Gosling's lovelorn husband in "Valentine." Playing opposite Michelle Williams in this indie gem, he worked closely with her and writer/director Derek Cianfrance to develop a multi-layered dissection of both the birth and freefall of a loving relationship.

Our Prediction: It's Firth for the win. Granted, Eisenberg has a lot of heat and a handful of critics' awards (including the National Board of Review), but Firth won nearly two dozen and counting. The man is going to need a storage locker for all the trophies he's nabbed, or he can hand them out instead of candy at Halloween.

David Fincher's "The Social Network" was heralded upon release as "generation-defining," but what exactly is that definition saying about our agegroup, its ambition, and its moral aptitude? It might not be too keen on us, let's put it that way.

As it hits DVD and Blu-ray today, let's seize a chance to really look at the core of what used to be known derisively as "the Facebook movie" and is now the frontrunner for Best Picture at the upcoming Academy Awards.

ERICA: "I think we should just be friends."

MARK: "I don't want friends."

These lines from the film's cold opening, in which our borderline autistic computer nerd protag gets unceremoniously dumped, chiseles in stone the tone for his character: a gift for recognizing human social need and exploiting it, despite being light years away from even wanting to fit in.

But Mark Zuckerberg (the character in this movie, let alone the actual human person guy) is not easily locked into a nutshell, and over the course of a narrative in which the Harvard student co-founds Facebook, betrays his co-founder/only friend Eduardo Saverin, and becomes the world's youngest billionaire, our multifaceted hero never seems interested in any conventional concept of success.

Indeed, Mark's far more enraptured with shaking up established order, be it through ranking all the Harvard women who wouldn't give him the time of day, or becoming a virtual feudal lord over what is probably the most pervasive communication tool since the telephone.

"Eduardo, it's like a final club except we're the president."

And therein lies the rub. As played with precision by Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Zuckerberg isn't a guy looking at women or final clubs with his face pressed against the glass… he wants to kick that glass in and hold everyone inside hostage. If you don't think that's the game he's playing, try going more than a week without logging on to your Facebook page. Yeah, we knew you couldn't.

As for the film itself, Aaron Sorkin's dialogue absolutely sings, and Fincher continues to evolve away from the music video flash of his early films ("Se7en," "Fight Club") and settle into the more mature, actor-centric style he first nailed in "Zodiac." Between Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake (as Napster co-founder Sean Parker), and Armie Hammer (as BOTH snooty Winklevoss twins) there's not a sour note, but the standout actor is future-Spider-Man Andrew Garfield, whose Eduardo is one of the few clear points of sympathy in a film littered with sociopaths.

Between Mark's desire to control his social experiment, Sean Parker's desire to make bank on it, and both Eduardo and The Winklevii's lawsuits to get their piece of the pie, "The Social Network" sees ours as a generation of entitlement… and we should all file a class action suit for defamation. (Smiley face.)

Extras! The intricate network of features on the Blu-ray includes commentaries with Fincher, Sorkin and the cast, a feature length making-of doc, and a discussion with Trent Reznor on his killer score.

Armie Hammer isn't the only "Social Network" alum to score a new gig this week.

Hot on the heels that Hammer is being approached for a role in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar" comes news that Mark Zuckerberg himself, Jesse Eisenberg, has joined the cast of the new romantic comedy, "Free Samples." 

Deal Central reports that "Teeth" star Jess Weixler will be playing the lead role in the story of a law school dropout who ends up working on a friend's food truck, handing out free samples of ice cream.  As she tries to figure out what to do with her life, she finds herself courted by Eisenberg's character. 

Whether Eisenberg will be expressing his romantic intentions in a rapid-fire, Aaron Sorkin kind of style or will be speaking a little more, well, slowly this time around is unknown. 

It's also worth mentioning that Deal Central refers to Eisenberg as "the future Oscar nominee." Whoa! Might that rapid-fire line delivery earn our young Jesse a golden statue? Could be, rabbits. 

Meanwhile, production on "Free Samples" is currently underway in Los Angeles -- look for the food truck surrounded by a lot of lighting and camera equipment.

The National Board of Review may be national and they may review things, but they certainly weren't bored this year as proven by a new press release in which they excitedly named "The Social Network" as their choice for Best Film of the Year.

Calling "The Social Network" a "timeless drama," the National Board of Review also heaped praise on the cast and crew, naming David Fincher Best Director, Jesse Eisenberg Best Actor for his leading role as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and presenting the award for Best Adapted Screenplay to writer Aaron Sorkin.

Among the other notable winners in this early bellwether for the Oscar race: Lesley Manville was named Best Actress for "Another Year," while Christian Bale and Jacki Weaver earned Best Supporting Actor and Actress wins for their roles in "The Fighter" and "Animal Kingdom" respectively.

The National Board of Review also named their list of the Ten Best Films of the year, several of which have yet to actually appear in theaters; the full list includes "Another Year," "The Fighter,"  "Hereafter," "Inception," "The King’s Speech," "Shutter Island," "The Town," "Toy Story 3," "True Grit" and "Winter’s Bone."

Every year, Oscar pundits go hog wild debating whether or not said performance in ______ film is award-worthy.

Some actors, like Tom Hanks or Daniel Day Lewis, are thoroughbreds at lapping up love from the Academy, while other times you get wild cards like Adrian Brody or Roberto Benigni seemingly gate-crashing the ceremony with their anonymity.

However, in some years there builds such a consensus about a particular actor that it seems inevitable they'll take the gold. According to awards tracking site Gold Derby, there is currently a 95% expert consensus that says Colin Firth will be delivering an eloquent acceptance speech for "The King's Speech," where he plays a stammering George VI.

While Firth winning may seem like a done-deal, we took a good look at this year's Best Actor Oscar race and came up with a whopping eight actors who may wind up giving Firth a strong run for his money.

Before "The Social Network" was released last month, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg took every opportunity to talk about how he didn’t want to talk about David Fincher's vision of the last decade of his life.

Actor Jesse Eisenberg, whose cousin happens to be an employee at the social-networking site, attempted to meet Facebook’s Chief Executive Officer in preparation for his portrayal of the "Punk Billionaire Genius" but was denied. Recently, however, the laconic tech wizard has lightened up. Zuckerberg not only admitted that he saw the film, but has spoken positively about it to boot.

Los Angeles Times entertainment writer Amy Kaufman sat down with Eisenberg and his co-star Andrew Garfield (as well as Carey Mulligan, who wasn't in the film) at the Egyptian Theater on Friday where they confirmed the story that Zuckerberg had rented out a movie theater to view the film with a few of his Facebook employees, followed by a round of Appletini’s (which were deemed by Zuckerberg as "the new drink of Facebook").

"He wanted to say that he liked the parts he thought the movie got right, and he wanted to say that I did a nice job," Eisenberg said, citing his cousin as the source.

Eisenberg may finally have Zuckerberg’s praise, but don’t expect the humble actor to get all egotistical. The man who will soon return to "Zombieland" wasted no time saying he felt "terrible" that the CEO had to be so "diplomatic" in his review.

"I realized how uncomfortable this must be for him," the actor said, uncomfortably, with some of those Zuckerberg neuroses still managing to shine through.

Not only is "The Social Network" numero uno at the box office, it’s arguably the most argued about movie of the year. 

Granted, most of the arguing is coming from the real-life people portrayed in the movie, but it’s still getting a huge amount of buzz from the general public.  And, as with every movie based on real events, there’s going to be some fiction mixed with fact.

This weekend, Hollywood's movers and shakers will be gathering in Los Angeles for one of the biggest award events around -- assuming, of course, Kanye West lets them.

So what should the discerning movie fan be on the lookout for at MTV's 2010 Video Music Awards (this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST)? Our money is on the crowded "Video of the Year" category, which has previously proven to be a breeding ground for acclaimed directors such as Spike Jonze and David Fincher.

And, of course, you can't overlook Kanye himself, who is going to be introduced by this summer's MTV Movie Awards host Aziz Ansari; considering Ansari has appeared in just about every decent comedy Hollywood has put out over the last two years, who knows what might go down in West's highly anticipated return to the VMAs. Is a surprise guest spot by Ansari's "Get Him to the Greek" co-star, Russell Brand, in the cards? After all, his fiancé, Katy Perry, is one of the presenters. Hmm…

Don't be surprised if Xtina makes a surprise appearance and maybe even (dare we hope?) joins Cher for a duet.

The Cast of 'Jackass'

Expect a big welcome for the cast of "Jackass," which returns to the place where it all started, MTV. We're not sure if they have any stunts planned, though we don't think it would be too much to ask to at least get Eminem in one of those flying harnesses. Regardless of what form their rebellion takes, though, we expect that by the time Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O leave the stage, they will have made an indelible mark on the VMAs -- and on the impressionable minds of those watching at home.

Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson

The team of "Star Trek" hunk Pine and "Sin City" femme fatale Dawson may not seem like the most obvious pairing, but that's only if you haven't heard about their new film, "Unstoppable," which co-stars Denzel Washington in a story about a runaway train. We don't expect Denzel to make an appearance (though the VMAs are always full of surprises) but that's OK; if all three of them were on stage at the same time, the intense concentration of physical hotness might cause the whole event to implode.

Emma Stone and Penn Badgley

Talk about a power couple: thanks to last year's surprise smash "Zombieland," Emma Stone is one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood, while Penn Badgley has been setting hearts aflutter on The CW's "Gossip Girl." Considering that their new film, "Easy A," is a perfect match for MTV's hip target demographic, we have a feeling that their VMA appearance could be the talk of the Internet next week.
