"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" did exactly what it was expected to do at the box office this weekend, destroying the record books with a whopping $161.1 million debut according to Film.com.
That's the fourth biggest opening of all time. It also demolished the record for the biggest November opening ever, previously held by "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which earned $142.1 million back in 2009.
Needless to say, nothing else came close this weekend. But for a full run down of the box office top ten, including figures for Vince Vaughn's disappointing new comedy "Delivery Man," head to Film.com.

The all-new, televised special will feature interviews with cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Jena Malone and Sam Claflin. The stars will be answering questions from the fans, sharing secrets from behind the scenes, playing games to see if any of the competitiveness from the movie rubbed off on them.

The newest trailer for David O. Russell's "American Hustle" is in, and viewers should totally brace for flying zingers. Because as much as this film is hilariously self-aware with that curly Q 'do-ness on poor B. Coop and so many gawdawful costumes floating about in this '70s show, it's even more giving in the wacky quote snippet department. Get More »
Jennifer Lawrence (a.k.a. America's lady crush) has been wowing our socks off for years now with those dramatic chops, but what we heart the most about the J.Law is her wicked sense of humor. Check out just about any random interview with her, and you'll find that the girl goes for the giggles. A LOT. Which is awesome and also why we're so very excited about her latest little role grab.
Gary Ross ditched out "The Hunger Games" franchise while it was still a way hot commodity, leaving the seat toasty warm for director Francis Lawrence to slide in and helm "Catching Fire" and both installments to "Mockingjay."
Ross declared that it was the tight turnaround schedule for movie two which turned him around from wanting to handle the sequel at all, but he never stopped singing the praises of his leading lady Jennifer Lawrence (because obviously).
J.Law herself is a known director loyalist, so if you're one of those who totally hearted the Ross/Lawrence combo pack — yeah, we saw that tribute video — you're doubly in luck because it looks the duo'll team up again for not one but two other book-to-screen adaptations.
Get ready to hustle, y'all: The trailer for David O. Russell's latest movie, "American Hustle," debuted this morning on Good Morning America, and it's a '70s-flavored doozy. Get More »
Wes Bentley shot to fame at just 21 years old when he played mysterious boy-next-door Ricky Fitts in the Oscar-winning film, "American Beauty". After a series of personal setbacks throughout his twenties, the 34-year-old actor returned to the big screen — in a big way — as head gamemaker Seneca Crane in 2012's "The Hunger Games". (That beard, though.)
His newest release, "The Time Being", premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and will open in limited theaters July 26. Bentley plays Daniel, a struggling young artist who is given a slew of strange assignments — think: film children in a playground — by a quiet, reclusive millionaire named Warner (Frank Langella). Through this process, Daniel discovers the importance of balancing his personal relationships with his ambitions as an artist.
NextMovie chatted with Bentley via phone prior to the film's release to discuss "The Hunger Games" craziness, his celebrity doppelganger, and why he always seems to get cast as some creepy dude with a camera. Get More »
