Questions and Answers With Julia Stiles

Julia Stiles has proven she can handle pretty much any genre. She ruled the teen rom-com scene with "10 Things I Hate About You" and "Save the Last Dance." She took action as Matt Damon's co-star in the fast-paced "Bourne" series. She was perfect as  the horrified mother of one creepy kid named Damien in "The Omen." But now Stiles is taking on one genre she wasn't even aware existed: apocalypse comedies.

In her latest film, "It's a Disaster" directed by Todd Berger, available now in VOD and in theaters April 12, four couples meeting for Sunday brunch find themselves stranded together when they receive news that the world is ending. Stiles plays Tracy, a doctor who's introducing her new boyfriend Glen (David Cross) to her three best friends and their significant others. While her biggest initial fear is whether her friends will approve of her new beau, she soon realizes passing the friend test is the least of her worries at this couple's brunch. (Check out the film at its official site.)

NextMovie sat down with Stiles in her hometown of New York City to chat about the film, awkward brunches, and how a ukelele could help in an apocalypse scenario. Get More »

GALLERY: The CIA's 15 Sexiest Spies (in Movies)

Is there anything sexier than a spy? We shouldn't dig a person who lies for a living as much as we do, but we just can't help it. It's the specialized skills, the crisp wardrobes, the high IQs and the ability to blend in, adapt and fight at a moment's notice. Oh, and there's the whole master/mistress of seduction thing. No one seems to be able to show a girl (or guy!) a good time like a secret agent!

Naturally, we're jealous of Reese Witherspoon's spy-on-spy action in "This Means War." Not only is she juggling Chris Pine and Tom Hardy (when we'd be happy with just one of them), but they're both badass CIA operatives, which guarantees every date is more exciting than if either were accountants.

To console ourselves, we've put together a gallery of 15 of the CIA's sexiest spooks. We don't care if they would have to kill us afterward – we'd happily go undercover with any one of them.

Matt Damon was honored at the Critics' Choice Awards last night for co-founding Water.org, an organization dedicated to providing safe drinking water and sanitation to developing countries.  Damon continued to speak up in the press room, reiterating how every 15 seconds a child dies from having no access to clean water.

On a lighter note, the "True Grit" star's eyes lit up when the subject of Jason Bourne came up, admitting that he hopes he will be able to get back in action and return for another installment, contrary to previous reports! Get More »

Tony Gilroy Gives Briefing on Matt Damon-Free 'Bourne Legacy'

Jason Bourne
Universal

Jason Bourne lives on, though maybe not in the way you were expecting.

As a follow-up to the announcement on Deadline that Tony Gilroy ("Michael Clayton," "Duplicity") has signed on to direct "The Bourne Legacy," Gilroy himself has chimed in with some details on the fourth installment of the action franchise at Hollywood Elsewhere.

Gilroy insists that "Legacy" is not a reboot or prequel to the "Bourne" trilogy, which starred Matt Damon as an amnesiac rogue CIA agent being hunted by his own organization. Get More »
