Ah, New Year's Eve — a magical evening filled with champagne, kisses at the stroke of midnight and, of course, a fresh start to the year ahead. Too bad in real life it's so much more often filled with overpriced dinners, obnoxious drunks and broken resolutions. (Yes, we often do manage to break our resolutions before even crawling into bed.) In other words, New Year's Eve almost always blows … yet somehow in the movies it's so damn perfect. Get More »
Hugh Grant has made a living playing characters that initially come off like jerks, only to later have their true nature revealed by that gal with the heart of gold. But according to "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart, Grant isn't just playing an assh*le on the big screen — he's actually an assh*le in real life, too.
And that's an act that Stewart has no interest in ever seeing again.
This all comes from a revealing one-on-one between Stewart and his good pal, "Colbert Report" host Stephen Colbert, who according to Third Beat Magazine recently sat down to interview each other for charity. Get More »
"Matrix" directors Lana and Andy Wachowski, along with "Run Lola Run" filmmaker Tom Tykwer, have crafted a big, tasty slice of WTF pie in the form of their new movie epic "Cloud Atlas." The film breaks boundaries both in its narrative (interweaving six separate stories of different genres) and through its performers (the actors play multiple roles of different age, race and gender), all the while somehow remaining not just coherent but wildly entertaining. Who'd a thunk it?
While the end credits reveal who played which characters — leading to some audible gasps from the audience — we thought we'd fill you in on just who each of these actors appear as and how much Silly Putty was applied to achieve this.

Actors are trained to be able to portray just about anything their role calls for, but there's one thing even the best actors can't possibly fake: Singing.
That's why we're always so impressed when actors sing on screen rather than just lip-synch some professional musician. Case in point: Next week's "Pitch Perfect," which features stars such as Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson belting out tunes like the divas they were meant to be. Get More »
This week: Will "Battleship" sink or swim on DVD and Blu-ray? The mega-budget summer flop about a naval fleet fighting off alien invaders had a reported budget of about $209 million but had to rely on the foreign box office to keep it afloat.
We've seen Hugh Grant the dapper romantic leading man. We've seen Hugh Grant the charming cad. We've seen Hugh Grant… well, you know, but how about Hugh Grant: crusader for justice?
Deadline reports that the "Four Weddings and a Funeral" star is the most high profile among 21 witnesses champing at the bit for a chance to talk smack about the tabloids making their lives a living hell in the UK.
Other celebs testifying against News Corp include funnyman Steve Coogan ("Hamlet 2"), singer Charlotte Church, and "Harry Potter" powerhouse J.K. Rowling. Get More »
Halle Berry may have her head in the clouds, but her feet are planted firmly on the ground – perhaps to her own detriment.
The actress, who has been shooting "Cloud Atlas" in Spain, broke her foot earlier today on the property where she has been staying during production.
TMZ reports that Berry was wheeled away from a nearby hospital in a cast, which will inevitably cause some problems in the film’s production because, let's face it: a Halle Berry movie without shots of her legs is downright criminal. Get More »
When you lie out on your lawn and stare up at the clouds, what do you see? A fluffy sheep? A map of Minnesota? Snoopy sitting on top of his dog house? Well, those are all good answers, but the next time you spend a lazy afternoon staring at the clouds, you may see something a bit more unexpected: Hugh Grant.
See that bench over there? That's the spot where that guy did that thing in that one movie that was such a big hit a few years ago. You know the one we're talking about, right? No? Man, if only there were a mobile phone app that could recognize landmarks from films and automagically play a clip featuring the scenery in question.
Well, now there is. Sort of. There's apparently an application called Augmented Reality Cinema in the works, and the makers of it have released a teaser trailer demonstrating what their product can do by showcasing a couple flitting about London checking out locations from "28 Days Later" and "Hugh Grant Romantic Comedy X."
