GALLERY: Vive le 2012 Cannes Film Festival
Founded in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival (or, Le Festival International du Film de Cannes, if you're a true cineaste) is the world's most prestigious and publicized film festival, an invitation-only event that attracts the biggest stars — and the most stunning wardrobes.
The 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival commenced on Wednesday, May 16 and will continue through Sunday, May 27 — visit our gallery often, as we'll be updating it daily with new celebrity sightings from France.
GALLERY: 'Battleship' Star Taylor Kitsch Sinks Our Hearts
Clear eyes. Full heart. SO HOT.
We're glad to see "Battleship" and "Savages" star Taylor Kitsch making it on the big screen, though we'll always remember where we met him: the high school football field of Dillon, Texas.
Now that the "Friday Night Lights" star has graduated to the world of movies, we thought this was the right time to check out his performance in his new summer blockbuster movie ... and his even more compelling performance on the red carpet.
Because he's really gorgeous, get it?
GALLERY: Alexander Skarsgard Is a True 'Battle' Hero
Whether battling aliens on the high seas or sinking his hot, hot fangs into some lucky lady, Alexander Skarsgard is always at the top of his game. In fact, considering the actor's height (roughly nineteen feet, give or take) he's at the top of everyone's game.
We fell in love with him first as the charmingly naughty vampire Eric Northman on HBO's "True Blood" and managed to keep our lust afloat while suffering through his totally uncharming bad guy turn in "Straw Dogs."
It's without any emotional conflict, though, that we cheer on his alien-battling heroics in Peter Berg's best movie-based-on-a-board-game ever, "Battleship."
Check out our entire gallery of Alexander Skarsgard looking ship-shape.
GALLERY: Stars Take First Steps at 'What to Expect' Premiere
They grow up so fast!
Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and other bundles of joy attended the Hollywood premiere of "What to Expect When You're Expecting," this month's official rom-com alternative to rollicking action extravaganzas like "The Avengers" and "Battleship" (which also happens to star Ms. Decker). We'll see if parenting stands a chance against saving the world against alien invaders (it just might)!
Check out our collection of pics from the premiere and join the baby craze when "What to Expect When You're Expecting" arrives in theaters on May 18.
GALLERY: 'Expect' Brooklyn Decker to Sink Your 'Battleship'
With two movies out this weekend, Brooklyn Decker's heat index is rising fast. And that's really saying something.
The 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl first impressed movie-going audiences with her earnest and comedic turn — not to mention that unforgettable yellow bikini — in "Just Go With It." Now she's giving birth to twins with Dennis Quaid in "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and cozying up to Taylor Kitsch before he rids the world of robot aliens in "Battleship."
Not too shabby. But Brooklyn is more than just eye candy. Flip through this Hot People Looking Hot gallery and you'll see she's got quite the sense of humor, a caring heart (she loves animals!) and an awesome, strangely approachable vibe.
GALLERY: 'Snow White and the Huntsman' World Premiere Has the Fairest Stars
Once upon a time (well, a few hours ago) in a land far, far away (London, England, to be specific), the stars of "Snow White and the Hunstman" gathered to show off their finery at the world premiere of this summer's fairy tale extravaganza.
Check out the gallery for pics of the lovely Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Charlize Theron (Queen Ravenna), Sam Claflin (Prince William), Chris Hemsworth (the titular Hunstman) and assorted friends as they walked the red carpet at Leicester Square.
"Snow White and the Huntsman" arrives in theaters June 1, and everyone will live happily ever after.
The end.
GALLERY: Johnny Depp Steps Out of the 'Shadows'
We're trying really hard to keep this terrible pun to ourselves, but it's just not worth the fight. This Hot People Looking Hot gallery takes an inDepp-th look at the star of "Dark Shadows."
Annnnd ... cue the requisite eye roll.
But, bad jokes aside, Johnny Depp really is a character, and we mean that in every way possible. From the roles he chooses (Captain Jack Sparrow, anyone?) to his own persona (making music with Marilyn Manson) and all the blue-hued glasses in between, he's both pleasing to the eye and entertaining to the core.
You know, kinda like this gallery.
GALLERY: Stars Man Their Stations at 'Battleship' Premiere
"You sunk my Battleship!"
Whether that classic exclamation is going to take on a more poignant context after "Battleship" attempts to stake its claim in the summer movie market remains to be seen, but for now, the valiant men and women involved in Universal's big-budget adaptation of the Milton Bradley game showed nothing but Navy pride at the Hollywood premiere.
Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and many more were on board (game) to celebrate the first official American screening of the sci-fi action film in which the world wages war with an alien race at sea (rather than in New York City, which usually takes the hardest beating in situations like that).
Check out our collection of photos from the premiere, and climb aboard "Battleship" when it sets sail in theaters on May 18.
GALLERY: Eva Green Draws Us to the 'Dark' Side
Agent 007 sure knows how to pick 'em.
Eva Green was the Bond babe in "Casino Royale" who stole our hearts with that smoldering glare alone.
The raven-haired beauty switches it up with a retro blonde hairdo in "Dark Shadows" as Angelique, a magical temptress who just wants Johnny Depp's Barnabas to fall for her. Barnabas turns her character down harshly, so she gets revenge by cursing him to be a vampire. Ouch, but seriously, who would turn this lady looker down?
Check out our gallery of the French femme fatale's best looks and try to withstand her bewitching beauty.
GALLERY: Ghouls and Gals at the 'Dark Shadows' Premiere
If strange is indeed relative, then we love this premiere like a brother.
Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and other members of Tim Burton's weird family stepped out on the red carpet Monday night to celebrate the Hollywood premiere of "Dark Shadows." Despite the film's rather odd premise (it's a supernatural tale and — even more peculiar — one set in the '70s), everyone looked relatively… normal. Well, normal-ish, anyway.
Check out our collection of photos from the premiere and pay a visit to the "Dark Shadows" clan yourself when the film opens on May 11.
