'Taken 2' Takes Second Box Office Crown
"Taken 2" held off a crowded field of new movies to retain its box office crown, as according to Film.com the Liam Neeson revenge fantasy earned a solid $22.5 million.
That was just enough to take out Ben Affleck's critically acclaimed thriller "Argo" ($20.1 million) and Ethan Hawke's creepy horror show "Sinister" ($18.3 million). Kevin James' MMA comedy "Here Comes the Boom," meanwhile, got caught in its own chokehold and managed just $12 million for a fifth place debut.
For a full rundown of the weekend box office, including figures for new releases "Seven Psychopaths" and "Atlas Shrugged Part 2" as well as returning hits "Hotel Transylvania" and "Pitch Perfect," head to Film.com.

Prepare For A Sony Summer With 'Total Recall' And More
What would you do if someone stole your mind?
That question was first asked in the summer of 1990, when the original "Total Recall," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a construction worker who finds he's involved in a revolution on Mars (OR IS HE?), hit theaters.
Now, Sony will ask that question again -- 21 years later -- as a new "Total Recall" will hit theaters this summer on August 3, according to Deadline.
The new "Total Recall," starring Colin Farrell and directed by Len Wiseman (the "Underworld" movies and "Live Free or Die Hard"), is coming out this August? They better hurry up with some stills or a trailer or a "I Love Mars" Facebook page or something. Get More »
