Doing an animated film must be an absolute blast for an actor. Show up in your pajamas. No time in hair and makeup. Don't shave your fu manchu. All that the film's producers need is your voice — your sweet, golden, $20-million-a-picture pipes.
For some actors, however, that's a problem. It's no one's fault; in fact, it's often a testament to their on-screen success with other endeavors. But there are a certain group of thespians whose voices are just too damn distinct to hide behind a cartoon character. They might deliver a fine performance, but it just doesn't quite work because we all know their voice so well. Get More »
Hollywood has often been described as "The Dream Factory," but when it comes to animated movies cartoonists can fudge the line between a dream romantic coupling and a laughable OkCupid date gone wrong.
Be it chunky monkey Ray Winstone sexing up Angelina Jolie in "Beowulf" or Meryl Streep winding up Mrs. George Clooney in "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" (which even she admitted was hilarious), there are many examples of said pairings — and here are ten more for you to fantasize about.

Look, this is a family friendly site, so we can't really talk about the days when Robin Williams used to do freakishly manic, sweaty-faced stand-up. Let's just say this new trailer for "Happy Feet Two" kinda channels that vibe into a floofy, anerable cartoon for the whole fam. In 3-D, no less.
This trailer, which premiered on Yahoo! Movies, has everything: Williams speaking in a funny accent while being pushed off an iceberg to music from "Pulp Fiction;" a cranky elephant seal with a fancy British accent; a mouthy little penguin that starts rapping with his crew; cute girly penguins dancing and threatening to "Bring Fluffy Back."
On top of all that, Mumble is a disappointed dad who wants his son Erik to dance, but Erik wants to fly, even though penguins can't fly. But he sees this other penguin named Sven fly and, of course, that confuses matters further. Get More »
