We had some absurdly high expectations for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as co-hosts of the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and last night our funny girls did not disappoint.
In the span of their seven minute opening monologue, they managed to sneak in a few mildly amusing jokes, a couple of eyebrow-raisers and one real zinger.

George Clooney Pokes Fun at Globes No-Show Ryan Gosling
Sure, there were a ton of good looking people at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, but there was one very glaring absence: double nominee Ryan Gosling.
The super-stud was nominated for Best Actor in both the Comedy and Drama categories, but was a no-show on the big night. Thankfully, his "Ides of March" co-star, Globes winner George Clooney, cleared things up in the press room.
"He's in Thailand or something, and you know what you do in Thailand," he said, according to our friends at BuzzSugar. "He wrote me a nice email this morning and I found out that he wasn't able to be here. It happens, you gotta work. He's gotta make a living — he's a struggling actor."

2012 Golden Globes: The Results!
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association handed out their 69th annual Golden Globes and the star of the show was "The Artist," which took home the trophies for Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) as well as Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) for star Jean Dujardin and Best Score for composer Ludovic Bource.
The big winners also included "The Descendants," which won both Best Motion Picture (Drama) and Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for George Clooney, and Meryl Streep, who won Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) for "The Iron Lady." Get More »
