Two more Hollywood ladies are ready to take their turns behind the camera, Mr. DeMille.
Both the oh-so-hilarious Melissa McCarthy and little Ellen Page have now signed up for their directorial debuts, and while their projects (and, uh, personalities) are pretty distinct, they do have one thing in common: trippin'!
No, we're not talking about a pair of LSD bender flicks here. Instead, both women's films involve their female protagonists leaving the homestead to discover a little somethin' somethin' about themselves. Get More »
All of the week's hot casting news in one fell swoop ...
• Seth MacFarlane has scored quite the cowgirl! The "Ted" funnyman has rounded up the gorgeous (and quite funny herself) Charlize Theron to star in his new film, "A Million Ways to Die in the West," a self-described "Blazing Saddles"-type comedy about a sheepish farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend leave him. [Heat Vision]
• Colin Farrell and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain are going classical with "Miss Julie," director Liv Ullmann's take on August Strindberg's 19th-century stage play about the sexually-charged battle of wills between a wealthy socialite and one of her head servants, with the servant's fiancee popping up every now and then to make things even more interesting. Samantha Morton is also set to star. [The Hollywood Reporter] Get More »

All of the week's hot casting news in one fell swoop ...
• Ellen Page will be starring in "Into the Forest," the story of two teenage sisters living in rural Northern California as society seems to decay and collapse around them. As if that should alarm the girl who saw buildings fold in on themselves and stuff in "Inception." [The Playlist]
• Another thesp is packing his bags for "Sin City." Josh Brolin, who appeared in director Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror," will be playing the central role of Dwight (played by Clive Owen in the original film) in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Now how about some casting news on the film's femme fatale, Ava Lord, already? [MovieWeb] Get More »
Woody Allen doesn't just have a knack for writing screenplays and directing movies. He knows how to pick gorgeous leading ladies better than, well, anyone.
From Penelope Cruz and Ellen Page in his latest, "To Rome With Love," to his trio of trips down Scarlett Johansson lane, the bespectacled one has spent the better part of the last decade with the biggest female up-and-comers and the hottest young starlets.
He's spent quality time with "Slumdog Millionaire"'s Frieda Pinto, "The Town"'s Rebecca Hall and the gorgeous Rachel McAdams. Plus, he'll soon be spending quality time with Cate Blanchett in his untitled flick slated for next year.

You've often heard women who are pregnant say they've never felt more feminine or sexier. But how does that work when they're just acting like they're pregnant?
With the group of pregnancies being showcased in the new ensemble comedy "What to Expect When You're Expecting," with Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick all with child, we decided to take a look at some other movies where hot actresses are sporting a baby bump on screen.
Just how hot are they within those nine months leading up to the big event? You be the judge.
Juno MacGuff has sure grown up. Actress Ellen Page, who won over audiences as Michael Cera's high school hipster baby mama in "Juno," is trading in exams for extremism in the upcoming Fox Searchlight thriller "The East."
Legendary director Woody Allen is flying high with his critically-acclaimed "Midnight in Paris" doing bang up business in the current art house scene, but he's never been one to slow down. He already has a new film gearing up to shoot, with a cast to impress. Eat your heart out, "New Year's Eve."
Allen's always had a knack for casting the best in the biz (specifically, adorable leading ladies) and his next, "The Bop Decameron," is no exception.
Set to roll this July in Rome the movie will star the previously rumored Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin and Penelope Cruz, as well as "Arthur" star Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill of "Scott Pilgrim" and Oscar-winning Italian savant Roberto Benigni.
If that wasn't enough, Allen himself will step back in front of the screen for the film, his first acting role since 2006's "Scoop." Get More »
He may have played it (somewhat) cool in "The Social Network," but Jesse Eisenberg will return to his nervous nerd roots by teaming up with fellow neurotic nebbish Woody Allen for a new comedy.
Besides that stroke of genius casting, "Juno" star Ellen Page — no stranger to portraying characters with quirks — has also joined the flick, along with Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin, reports Variety. Get More »
