Miss Piggy With a Dragon Tattoo?! Muppets Take a New Spoof
After the first "The Muppets" parody trailer took us by surprise (the "Green With Envy" romantic comedy setup was stupendously executed) and the second made us laugh (sending up"The Hangover 2"), we were anxious to see what our fine felt friends would cook up next.
Unfortunately, all we got was a straight-up trailer which still made us excited for what looks like one of our most-anticipated movies of late 2011.
Fortunately, the folks behind "The Muppets" weren't content to rest on their laurels, especially in the face of such a stylish cut as the near-music video for David Fincher's upcoming "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" adaptation. Long story short, that's how we ended up with this newest "The Muppets" trailer, which apes Fincher's style perfectly, albeit with a slightly wackier soundtrack than the industrial "Immigrant Song" cover performed by Karen O and Trent Reznor in the "Dragon Tattoo" clip. But, then again, those guys didn't end with "Wocka wocka wocka," either. Bonus points for the poster, although we're a little disappointed they didn't go all the way and give us a topless Piggy. Alan Dale Arrives Late to the 'Dragon Tattoo' Party
Principal photography is just about wrapped on director David Fincher's adaptation of Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," but apparently that doesn't mean he's done casting the thing.
According to Variety, veteran character actor Alan Dale has joined the ensemble to play "a police detective on the verge of retirement." That can't mean Gustaf Morell, who's already being played by Donald Sumpter... we might have to skim through the book again to see who this character might be. Get More »
9 Great Movie Moments at the Video Music Awards
You might think that the MTV Video Music Awards are all about music, or more specifically, music videos. But throughout the past 17 years, there have been plenty of movie-related moments that have broken up the many Madonna performances, "Moonman" award upsets and general VMA revelry.
After all, you can't pack an auditorium full of the entertainment industry's most talented performers and not expect some big-screen brilliance. (We're already anticipating one big movie moment at this Sunday's show. Two words: "Hunger Games.")
In celebration of this year's ceremony and the big-screen moments that it will certainly bring, we've compiled the nine best movie-related VMA moments (ever!) for your enjoyment. Get More »
Official Trailer for Fincher's 'Dragon Tattoo' Goes Green (Band)
Last week's unofficial red band trailer for the Americanized "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was shrouded in as much mystery as most of the plots in the book. Was it a leak from overseas? Was it a spiffy move on the part of the studio? Was it just some dude in Europe who thought the trailer was awesome?
So many questions. So few answers.
Through all the hullabaloo, one thing was clear: the trailer kicked some serious butt. Now a green band (a.k.a. significantly less blood and side boob) trailer has followed in the first spot's footsteps and continues to the movies campaign to be the most badass thing ever. Get More »

Angelina Jolie Spills the Beans About 'Cleopatra'
Angelina Jolie isn't just really hot -- she's also really busy. Besides juggling her kids (not literally), her acting career and her philanthropic efforts in Africa, it's a wonder she has any time left to talk to MTV News about her upcoming projects.
But that's just what she's done, spilling the beans (again, that's a metaphor) at the Cannes Film Festival about yet another time-consuming role she's taken on: A-list producer. And the subject of her efforts? Why, it's a 3-D historical epic about the life of Cleopatra, which may unite Jolie with acclaimed director David Fincher.
"Fincher's been an old friend, so we've always been looking for something to do," Jolie said.
And what else did she say? Well, jump on over to MTV News to hear the rest. After all, there's no telling when Jolie might have time to talk about these projects again.
Our Official 2011 Oscar Predictions
So much for the Oscars being predictable.
A year after the David vs. Goliath slugfest between "Avatar" and "The Hurt Locker," this year's theme appears to be Young Hollywood vs. Old Hollywood, with "The Social Network" (the movie that defines a new generation?) battling against "The King's Speech" (the more traditional Oscar crowd-pleaser for the 40-and-over set). Goran Visnjic To Boss Around 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'
Lisbeth Salander now has a boss... as much as Lisbeth Salandar can have a boss, anyway.
The latest addition to David Fincher's merry band of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" players is Goran Visnjic. The former "ER" hunk will be playing the role of Dragan Armansky, the CEO of the security firm that employs the Girl herself, according to Deadline. Get More »
