Bryce Dallas Howard Welcomes Baby Girl, Grandpa Gushes
Bryce Dallas Howard has officially welcomed baby number two with hubby Seth Gabel to the world, and Grandpa Opie — er, esteemed director Ron Howard — has been just gushing all about the news on Twitter.
Little Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel was born on Saturday, weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
"Bryce & Baby B are spectacular Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear," Ron Howard tweeted. "Beatrice's arrival is hugely exciting for our family Thanks for all the kind tweets folks." Get More »
'The Help' Cleans Up Nicely on DVD and Blu-ray
Cult director John Waters has never been nominated for an Oscar, but if you think about it, Tate Taylor's "The Help" -- a shoo-in for a few little gold statues this year -- is essentially Waters's "Hairspray" dusted off and restructured for maximum award potential.
There is no jitterbugging or high-camp humor in "The Help," but both movies are set in the early '60s and involve a forward-thinking white gal who charms her way inside the African-American community, gains its trust, and brings about social change while exposing racists for what they are. Also, just like in the infamous scene in Waters' "Pink Flamingos" during which Divine eats dog poo, one of the maids in "The Help" serves up a pie made of her own excrement to her former employer. Bon appétit, Oscar watchers! Get More »
Q&A: Bryce Dallas Howard on Gus Van Sant, '50/50' and 'The Help' Controversy
Bryce Dallas Howard may have Hollywood in her genes via her dad Ron, but she's proved her mettle on the big screen. The multitasking actress costars in Oscar favorite "The Help" as the bitchy Hilly Holbrook and is currently promoting the dramedy "50/50," in which she takes on another hard-to-swallow role as a crappy girlfriend to a young guy with cancer.
With the Gus Van Sant movie "Restless," she's taken on a new responsibility, as producer. The arty romance about a dying girl named Annabel (Mia Wasikowska) who falls for a funeral-obsessed teen (Henry Hopper) is set to open this Friday. Watch the trailer here. She talked to us about working with Van Sant, playing an unsympathetic character and her take on the controversy over "The Help." Get More »
Separated at Birth? Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard Face Off in 'The Help'
In 1999-2003, Bryce Dallas Howard was enrolled at New York University and studying at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Also in New York at the time? Howard's doppelganger, Jessica Chastain, who was at Juilliard on a scholarship from alum Robin Williams.
Now the two fair-skinned, red-haired actresses are facing off onscreen as Southern belle rivals -- Howard as snooty Hilly Holbrook, Chastain as sweet Celia Foote -- in "The Help," based on Kathryn Stockett's best-selling novel about white housewives and their black maids in Mississippi in the early '60s.
At the "Help" junket in Los Angeles, both actresses talked to us about their eerie resemblance to each other and their ongoing case of mistaken identity. Get More »
GALLERY: Bryce Dallas Howard Brings the Beauty to 'The Help'
In "The Help," Bryce Dallas Howard plays a prim, insincere society woman who's more or less a racist (ahem) witch. In "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," she was Victoria, a vampire hell-bent on killing Bella and an overall (ahem) witch.
Thankfully, in real life, the actress appears to be a ray of sunshine. In fact, with her gorgeous red hair and bright smile, she's worthy of her very own Hot People Looking Hot gallery.
How's that for proof this beauty's no witch?
We'll Get By With a Little 'Help' From Emma Stone
We're not afraid to admit we love Emma Stone -- and now, she's returning the love thanks to several exclusive clips over at MTV.
Stone, of course, won our hearts in films like "Zombieland" and especially "Easy A," but now she's taking on her greatest challenge yet in the period drama "The Help," which arrives in theaters on Aug. 12. So we couldn't help but ask her (via Twitter, of course) how she prepares differently for a dramatic role, an answer she was happy to give on camera to our pals at MTV as part of their special "Sneak Peek Week." Emma Stone And Viola Davis Head South With 'The Help' Trailer
Emma Stone is crossing some lines in Jacksonville, Mississippi.
The official trailer for "The Help" has been released, and it looks like a big rollicking Southern melodrama -- something we definitely don't get enough of those these days. You can already hear the cheers from the audience even just for the scene where Viola Davis calls Bryce Dallas Howard a "godless woman." Get More »

What 2011 Has in Store for 'The Twilight Saga' Cast
Happy New Year, fellow Twi-Hards. I hope you've all resolved to watch a little more "Twilight" this year ("Eclipse" was only number four at the 2010 Box Office, we can do better than that!).
Wondering what's in store for "The Twilight Saga" cast this year? Thankfully, we know they're all currently shooting "Breaking Dawn" and "Part 1" will be released on November 18. But since that's like -- I don't know -- 5,000 days away (not exact math), I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to know what other projects our favorite young actors have hitting our local cineplexes this year.
