The Best Movie Posters That Never Were

There's nothing quite like a good movie poster. You know what we mean. While many posters barely make an impression at all, merely presenting the stars and the title, sometimes you come across a movie poster that just grabs your imagination. Once you see it, you just have to go see the movie as well.

Which is fine — if those movies actually existed.

Welcome to the world of Pascal Witaszek, fake biopic poster-maker extraordinaire. (That's not his formal title, but it has a certain ring to it.) Get More »

Michael Peña Lands Lead in Cesar Chavez Biopic

Michael Peña, the dark and handsome thesp most recently seen in comedies like "Observe and Report" and "30 Minutes or Less," is returning to his (more) dramatic roots.

He just landed the lead role in the upcoming Cesar Chavez biopic, the brainchild of Diego Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal and Pablo Cruz. (In other words, a lot of big players are throwing their hats in this ring).

According to Collider, Peña joins America Ferrera, who will play the revolutionary's wife, and Rosario Dawson, who will portray Dolores Huerta, Chavez's partner in activism and co-founder of what eventually became the United Farm Workers. Wonder if those two gals ever bumped heads. Just sayin'. Get More »

To answer your first question, no, Johnny Depp has already ruled himself out of casting a few years ago, but a Michael Jackson biopic is imminent.

Variety is moonwalking to the news that John Branca, executor of Jackson's estate, has reached out to Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's Montecito Picture Company to bring the King of Pop's story to the silver screen. The article states the movie would "only cover certain periods of the late singer's life," which is shorthand meaning the focus would be more on the salad days of The Jackson 5 and "Thriller" and less on what Dave Chappelle termed the "white ghoulish-like creature" period. Justin Timberlake is returning to music!

Well, sort of. He's sticking with acting for the time being, but his latest role is one that's closer to his roots than the romantic comedies are (not that he isn't adorable in them, of course).

According to Deadline, Timberlake has signed to play legendary music producer Neil Bogart in a big screen biopic. Get More »

Should Eva Longoria Star in a Kim Kardashian Movie?

It's inevitable. Someday, there will be a series of biopics about some of our favorite reality stars. Some will be comedies (ahem, "Jersey Shore" -- see their casting thoughts here and here), some will be tragedies (we're lookin' at you, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt) and some will be filled with the intricacies needed of a serious actor.

We're talking about Kim Kardashian, obviously.

When we spoke to her about this at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, she didn't have to think about it before throwing out her casting suggestion.

"Eva Longoria - I love her," she declared.

We have to confess we're a little impressed. Despite the age difference, that might not be a bad call. What do you think?

Hot on the heels of the trailer for the new "Winnie the Pooh" movie comes the teaser for "Winnie," a biopic of Winnie Mandela, former wife of South African president Nelson Mandela. And, though there are no Pooh bears in sight, it certainly is a hunny of a story.

Jennifer Hudson has landed herself another dream role, as the film charts Winnie's life from infancy to key figure in the fight to end apartheid. Get More »
