Fans may have gotten all in a tizzy over Kristen Stewart's recent real-life indiscretions, but Robert Pattinson hasn't exactly been the most faithful soul either, at least cinematically.
R.Pattz has more than a few notches on his belt on the big screen, including "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1" and his new head trip "Cosmopolis," and we're going to count every single salacious piece of tail this sparkly vampire has sunk his teeth, among other things, into. Get More »
Unlike most of the exalted contributors here at Next Movie, I am not a professional film critic. I am, like you readers, but a humble servant of "The Twilight Saga."
That said, my opinion of "Bel Ami" should only hold water with fellow Twi-hards. Don't get angry with me for missing the dramatic undertones of French society in the 1880s. Even if I knew what to look for on that accord, I wasn't looking for it. I was only watching "Bel Ami" to see if Robert Pattinson accomplished what he set out to do with the role, which is to break away from the Edward Cullen typecasting.
R.Pattz didn't state that on record, but it's obvious, right? Because the movie is not great, but his character, Georges Duroy, is a far cry from any Pattinson has played before. Sure, he's still a total heartthrob (bedding half the women in upper-class French society) who relies on very long dramatic stares to depict a variety of emotions (as does Edward), but the rest is unique to "Bel Ami." To prove it, I've selected seven things that Robert Pattinson does in this film that we've never seen him do before. Get More »
There are roughly seven months until our next (and final) Twi-hard fix, with "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" dropping in November. I don't write that to bum you out. It's more of an embrace-the-day statement. Appreciate these seven months of build-up because in all likelihood, these will be your last (unless you've already started obsessing over "The Hunger Games").
That said, let's get excited for summer movies season -- the season that's no longer just about blockbusters and indies that aren't good enough for award season (although it's still mostly that). When it comes to summer films starring "Twilight" actors, we're lucky enough to get two apiece from Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson; and these hot months will also feature appearances from Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, "Eclipse" alumnus Xavier Samuel and my imaginary girlfriend Anna Kendrick. 'Tis the season for massive explosions and people running from them.
Summer movies are coming, and iconic superheroes will dominate as "Dark Knight Rises," "Avengers," and "The Amazing Spider-Man" duke it out for box office supremacy, while the sci-fi derby includes fresh takes on the "Alien" saga ("Prometheus") and Philip K. Dick ("Total Recall"), plus a return visit to MIB headquarters.
We count down the biggest and best blockbusters for beating the summer heat. Get More »
Ah, Robert Pattinson. It seems like just yesterday he was a fresh-faced youth, wowing the high school gals in "Twilight." And now? Well, judging by this new clip from his upcoming drama "Bel Ami," it looks like R.Pattz is all grown up. Get More »
Looks like Robert Pattinson is taking a break from the Cullen clan and heading to Paris. Sort of.
In the new U.S. trailer for "Bel Ami," based on the classic novel by Guy de Maupassant (it was probably on your high school reading list), everyone's favorite vampire is spreading his thespian wings to tackle the lead role of mere mortal Georges Duroy, a penniless soldier seeking his fortune through the "generosity" of the city's richest women ... who happen to be the wives of the city's richest men. You can see how that could get kinda messy. Get More »
Robert Pattinson is a predator.
Oh, sure, you already knew that; after all, what is a vampire other than a creature that feeds on human prey? But in the brand hew trailer for "Bel Ami," Pattinson plays a very different kind of predator -- one who stalks the bedroom in search of sexual power.
We're guessing he just caught more than your attention. Get More »
Apparently no woman could resist the charms of Robert Pattinson in the 1800s, either.
RPattz seduces Natalia Tena, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and seemingly dozens of others in "Bel Ami," the adaptation of Guy Maupassant's bodice-ripping novel.
The "Twilight" star plays Georges Duroy, a soldier who returns from war and promptly uses his good looks to infiltrate (sleep) his way into French high society. Get More »
