Real Life Disney Princesses Take Cosplay to a Whole New World

Sure, back in the day, most of them were kids, but luckily we're past that now and we live in an age where if grown people want to dress up like cartoon characters. Well, more power to 'em.

Mark Wahlberg Smuggles $24.5 Million From the Box Office
Mark Wahlberg proved that he's both a beauty and a beast at the box office, as his new action flick "Contraband" took the top spot, edging out Disney's 3D re-release of the Oscar nominated animated classic "Beauty and the Beast."
Raking in an estimated $24.5 million according to Hollywood.com, "Contraband," which co-stars Kate Beckinsale, will have stiff competition at the box office next weekend -- from Beckinsale's own action franchise, "Underworld Awakening."
For now, though, Wahlberg is riding high, as is "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," which stayed strong for a third place finish that put it within striking distance of the $200 million mark. For the full box office, including figures for the new Dolly Parton/Queen Latifah musical "Joyful Noise," head over to Hollywood.com.
Get Fashionably Re-Enchanted by 'Beauty and the Beast 3D'
No matter what, every girl (and, by girl, we also mean grown-up girl) has wished they could be a princess.
To remind us all just how amazing a classic princess movie is, Disney has revamped "Beauty and the Beast" with 3-D effects. Once again, we all get to experience the magical story of Belle, Beast and all of their little friends on the big screen.
But that doesn't have the be the end of this fairytale story. We all know that Belle is a looker, but we can totally recreate her tiara-worthy looks in our own real-life kingdoms. Check out our latest Get the Goods to experience the magic of a fairytale-worthy frock and more.
Disney's 50 Finest: In Order of Awesome
Just days before the release of "Tangled," Disney shocked the world by announcing the film would be their last fairy tale princess story. But while there was much wailing, another, more positive milestone has been somewhat overlooked: "Tangled" marked the studio's 50th animated feature.
We know what you're thinking: Surely Disney has made more than 50 movies, right? And it's true, they have. But if there's one thing Disney knows even more than animation, it's how to protect their brand, which is why they've designated some of their features to be official classics and others -- like "The Jungle Book 2" or "Pete's Dragon" -- to be, you know, just something they do on the side for giggles and grins.
To celebrate the release of "Beauty and the Beast 3D," we review and rank all 50 official Disney animated features. Get More »
'Beauty and the Beast' 3D Trailer Is Beautiful, Beastly
It may be a tale as old as time, but Disney's animated classic "Beauty and the Beast" is about to get a decidedly modern update -- and we've got the first official trailer for their upcoming 3-D re-release to prove it.
Now that's a presentation grand enough even for Gaston.
Of course, since the internet still isn't yet in full 3-D, you'll have to settle for a regular old two dimensional look at the trailer from Yahoo! Movies. But if there was ever a movie that didn't need any Belles and whistles to sell it, it's "Beauty and the Beast;" after all, the 1991 retelling of the timeless fairy tale remains one of the only animated films to ever receive a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars. Disney Weaves a 'Tangled' New Short
Considering the massive box office success Disney just had with their 3-D re-release of "The Lion King," chances are movie fans probably don't need any extra motivation to check out "Beauty and the Beast 3D" when it arrives in theaters for a limited run on Jan. 13. After all, "Beauty and the Beast" is not just one of the most popular animated films of all time, it's also perhaps the most acclaimed, having earned a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards. It kind of sells itself.
Still, Disney didn't become the industry leader and a worldwide mega-conglomerate by taking things for granted, so just in case you needed more motivation, here you go: The Playlist is reporting that "Beauty and the Beast 3D" will come packaged with a brand new original "Tangled" short film. Done. Get More »
