The 12 Hottest (Movie) Teachers

Let's face it, most of us have been, as David Lee Roth once so eloquently put it, "Hot For Teacher."  And while we adore the earnest and inspirational wisdom of teachers in movies like "Dead Poets Society," "Stand and Deliver" and "Mr. Holland's Opus," that's not what we're talking about here.

If our favorite educators had looked like these 12 big-screen teachers ranked in the gallery below, we would have been happy flunking year after year just to keep watching them draw on the chalkboard.

Phyllis Smith, best known as Phyllis Lapin-Vance on NBC's Emmy-winning sitcom "The Office," took a step into cinema this year with a role in "Bad Teacher."

With her movie landing on DVD this week,  the former St. Louis Cardinals cheerleader and one-time casting associate of "The Office" offices talked to NextMovie about moving from her lucky break in prime time to starring alongside Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake.

We hear Scranton's a good place to hang your hat, but Hollywood's a great place to visit. Get More »

My Favorite Movie: Lucy Punch

"I love 'The Wizard of Oz.' That was so magical, that film. I think I watched it, I don't know, 108 times!

"I first saw it when I was much younger, and then we were going to do a school production and I was cast as Dorothy. But then, for whatever reason, it got cancelled. Instead, I had to play the Pied Piper in the next production. Needless to say, I was devastated.

"Maybe that's why even today I love red shoes so much. It probably all goes back to childhood and dreaming of those ruby red slippers. Get More »

My Favorite Movie: Tom Lennon

"Absolutely, hands down, number one, my favorite movie of all time is 'My Life As a Dog.'

"It's by Lasse Hallström and it is just -- it will make you cry like crazy. It's about this kid growing up in Scandinavia, but that's not why you cry.

"I saw it after I read Alec Guinness' autobiography which is called 'My Name Escapes Me.' In that book, someone asked him what the best film ever made was, and he said, 'My Life As a Dog.' And I thought, okay, well, if Alec Guinness says the best film ever made is 'My Life As a Dog,' I should probably be seeing that.

"And then I saw it, and I agreed with him, because it's amazing. That's the end of that story." Get More »

Get Cameron's Short Shorts & Other Sexy Stuff From 'Bad Teacher'

Forget whether or not you liked the movie, "Bad Teacher." There's one thing we can all agree on: Cameron Diaz looked ah-mazing.

Of course, you can pull off her hot-for-teacher looks too. Well, some of 'em. Not everyone's wallet can handle Christian Louboutin shoes, but it's cool to dream, right?

Here's where to get her sexy looks that you can -- and maybe can't, sigh -- afford.

Cameron Diaz Dishes on Bad Teachers and Soapy Cars

Bad Teacher
Columbia Pictures

In "Bad Teacher," Cameron Diaz isn't just merely bad, she's arguably one of the worst educators ever portrayed on screen (second to, we don't know, maybe those homicidal aliens of "The Faculty").

So does the funnywoman have any teacher horror stories of her own? Not really, unless you consider teachers who kick their feet up or forget to brush horrific.

Diaz did have a simple strategy to share around the buzzed-about car wash scene. "I just wet the car down and jumped on," she told MTV Tr3s in the video below. Get More »

KRS-One Reviews 'Bad Teacher'

KRS-One isn't just a Hip Hop pioneer, activist and icon. He's also the culture's ordained "Teacha."

So who better to educate viewers on the new Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" than The Blastmaster KRS himself?

The usually serious, often philosophical KRS laughed his way through the hijinks of this snappy comedy, giving Diaz and co-star Justin Timberlake thoroughly high marks for their efforts. He even found a few lessons rooted under the raunch. Get More »

Q&A: Lucy Packs a Punch in 'Bad Teacher'

Lucy Punch

With her svelte frame, bright eyes and English accent, Lucy Punch seems perfectly suited to play the sugary-sweet girl next door. So you might be surprised that this flaxen-haired beauty keeps getting cast as anything but.

From a tarted-up gold digger in Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" to the heavy-drinking party girl in "Take Me Home Tonight," Punch has proven that she's got the comedic chops to throw down with the best of them -- including Cameron Diaz.

In "Bad Teacher," Punch brings the uppity Amy Squirrel to life and proves a worthy opponent to battle Diaz for Justin Timberlake's bank account heart. Unlike her character, however, Punch was nothing but calm and collected when we sat down in New York to chat about being serenaded by Justin, barfed on by Cameron, and, well, everything in between.
