Wannabe Copycat Killer Planned Attack on 'Twilight' Screening

In a frightening development, CBS News is reporting that authorities in Missouri arrested a 20-year-old man last week after his mother reported that her son was planning to to kill theater-goers at a screening of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" yesterday.

Blaec Lammers, who reportedly had purchased assault rifles and more than 400 rounds of ammunition, told authorities that "he had a lot in common" with mass murderer James Holmes, who killed 12 people and injured 58 more at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado on July 20. Aurora Heroes Return to Watch 'The Dark Knight Rises'

A moving story arrived today as two of the survivors of the terrible Aurora, Colo., shooting that left 12 people dead at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" have spoken out about their recent return to the theater to finish watching the movie.

"It was vitally important to go back as soon as possible to the movie theater and finish watching 'The Dark Knight Rises.' The shooter's intent was to cause fear, injury and death. We escaped injury and death," Jennifer Keavey Lader wrote for The Daily Beast. "But we both refuse to let fear consume us.

It can feel all but impossible to respond to an act of violence too senseless to truly understand, but that isn't stopping the "Dark Knight Rises" stars from trying.

As a stoic, fiery-haired James Holmes, the suspect in the Colorado movie theater shooting, made his first appearance in court, Joseph Gordon-Levitt broke his silence on the horrific incident.

Reactions to the horrific Colorado shooting that left 12 dead during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" last Friday morning continues to pour in, with stars Anne Hathaway and Gary Oldman joining the rest of the nation in offering their sympathies to the victims and their families.

"My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomably senseless act," Hathaway, who plays Catwoman in the film, said in a statement to E! Online. 'The Dark Knight Rises:' More Details Emerge on Mass Shooting

As details begin to emerge on the mass shooting in Colorado at last night's premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" that left 12 dead and 38 wounded, Warner Bros. has joined President Obama and others in offering their condolences, according to MTV.

"Warner Bros. and the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident," the statement from the studio read. "We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."

In a sad twist of fate, one of those victims, sportscaster Jessica Redfield, narrowly escaped a mass shooting at a Toronto mall just last month, according to MTV News.

MTV is also reporting that the family of the suspected shooter, James Holmes, has released a statement as well, saying that "our hearts go out to those who were involved in this tragedy and to the families and friends of those involved." Meanwhile, police investigating Holmes are reporting that his apartment may have been booby trapped with explosives.

Today's news that a man opened fire in a Colorado theater and killed 12 people attending a midnight release of "The Dark Knight Rises" is as shocking as it is sad and senseless.
