Today is a special day. No, it's not just the day after the Super Bowl and five days until "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1" comes out on DVD. Nope. Today is the day we got a sneak peek at some "Amazing Spider-Man" footage … and we're totally sold.
Sony put together a little gathering at movie theaters across the world, where a new 3-D trailer made its debut, as well as a sizzle reel from the film. We have yet to set eyes on our first piece of footage for the Spider-Man reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man," but that hasn't stopped us from getting pumped.
We know it's an origin story about how a college-age Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield) becomes Spider-Man. We think his adversary is Dr. Curt Connors, also known as the Lizard. But we don't know much beyond that, because it's still shooting as you read this.

"The Social Network's" Andrew Garfield may have been passed over by the Academy Awards, but don't worry, because he's got his hands full with something a little more important right now anyway -- something that looks suspiciously like mechanical web shooters.
Yes, Sony has released their first official photo of Garfield in the classic red-and-blue Spider-Man costume and he looks exactly like Spider-Man should, complete with mechanical web shooters. And, oh yeah, they also renamed the movie in preparation for the upcoming production.
