Hearing People Scream in Space: The Supercut
One of Hollywood's most celebrated taglines, from the Ridley Scott classic "Alien," tells us: "In space, no one can hear you scream."
But anyone who's ever seen a proper sci-fi thriller will tell you that's not true at all.
Just watch "Event Horizon." Or "Sunshine." Or the brand new space haunter "Apollo 18." Even "Alien" itself.
So to all you future space travelers, use the footage above as a cautionary tale. Intergalactic exploration is f**king scary. And chances are there will be screaming. Lots and lots of screaming.

Sigourney Weaver Talks 'Avatar' and Ripley, Believe It Or Not
You might think that after more than three decades of talking about her iconic role of Ellen Ripley in the "Alien" films, Sigourney Weaver would be sick of it all.
But as she revealed in an extensive new interview with Moviefone, Weaver not only isn't tired of Ripley, she's actually hoping to get one last shot at James Cameron's interstellar monsters -- because she's convinced she "could definitely kick that alien's ass again."
And that's not all Weaver had to say about Cameron, "Alien" and "Avatar" when she sat down to discuss the 25th anniversary of "Aliens," still one of the most popular sequels in movie history. Get More »
Charlize Theron Boarding 'Alien' Prequel?
Looks like Charlize Theron might be swapping out the kind of monster that shoots men for the type that bleeds acid and lays babies in your chest.
That's right, lovely Charlize is being courted like a Southern belle by 20th Century Fox to take a role originally earmarked for Michelle Yeoh in the "Alien" prequel, but getting her to sign on the dotted line ain't gonna be a dance around the maypole.
According to Vulture, the scripted part of "a fortysomething, tough-but-sexy crew member" named Vickers is being beefed up and tailored to the Academy Award-winner's liking. She's also presumably demanded a hundred sheep from the finest stock in all the valley, and exotic spices from faraway continents. Get More »

'Alien' Prequel Won't Hatch Until 2013?
In space, no one can hear you scream, but you can hear us roaring in frustration now that Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel may be delayed until 2013.
According to Scriptflags, the otherworldly sci-fi horrorfest was due to begin principal photography in February, with "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" star Noomi Rapace duking it out against "Girl With the Neon Suit" Olivia Wilde for the lead role of a Colonial Marine general, presumably a "no-nonsense" one with a giant gun. Olivia Wilde Joins Bevy of Beautiful 'Alien' Hopefuls

There's just one problem: he just has too damn many hot women to choose from.
This according to indieWire, which is reporting that the five finalists for the top role are Natalie Portman, Noomi Rapace, Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish and, in a surprise last minute addition, Olivia Wilde.

Just How Many Women Are In the 'Alien' Prequel Anyway?
Casting work continues full speed on Ridley Scott's hotly anticipated "Alien'" prequel, but instead of narrowing down the choices, Twentieth Century Fox is actually adding more possibilities. Now they've added another beautiful starlet to their want list in the form of Anne Hathaway.
