Whether battling aliens on the high seas or sinking his hot, hot fangs into some lucky lady, Alexander Skarsgard is always at the top of his game. In fact, considering the actor's height (roughly nineteen feet, give or take) he's at the top of everyone's game.
This spring, we get brainwashed by his creepy cult activities in "The East," opening May 31, and join his search for connection in a wireless world in "Disconnect," now in theaters. Even though he cheats on Paula Patton in that last one (dude, are you crazy?).
Check out our entire gallery of Alexander Skarsgard looking tall, light and handsome.
Looks like Alexander Skarsgard won't be beating his bare, chiseled chest while romping through the jungle any time soon — unless, of course, "True Blood" takes an unexpected turn for its sixth season.
That sound you hear is women across the world groaning in collective dismay, by the way.
Per Deadline, Warner Bros. is — at least temporarily — pulling the plug on the David Yates-led reboot of "Tarzan," which was set to feature "Zero Dark Thirty" femme Jessica Chastain as the dame Jane. Reportedly, the production halt stems from the studio being uncomfortable with the budget on-hand, but there may be a second lurking matter at issue, too: casting. Get More »
Ready the sniffle cloths for this one, everybody.
As anyone with a blended family can probably attest, things can get pretty messy when mommies and daddies decide they love eachother in a different way, especially for those kiddies who get caught in the crossfire. Get More »
It's a fact of modern existence: The more you do online, the more you unwittingly reveal the details of your life to pretty much anybody who really wants to know. Everything you do leaves a digital trail and there's no telling who might be watching.
And just wait until they see you checking out the new trailer for the upcoming indie drama "Disconnect." Get More »
What would we say to Alexander Skarsgard coming back for the "Zoolander" sequel? "Orange Mocha Frappuccino!"
Yes, we're excited for "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Amazing Spider-Man." But if you ask us (and you just did – no, really, we heard you), the movie that's going to make our summer special is "Magic Mike." It's not only meat-packed with some of the best-looking men working in Hollywood today, but it's based on Channing Tatum's life. Everything you see on-screen was inspired by actual events, which makes it all that much more tantalizing.
Plus, it's just fun. A lot of summer films offer shirtless dudes, but how many have based an entire movie around their ability to look good shirtless, pantless and dancing? Zero. Mark our words, "Magic Mike" is gonna be huge. And after it blows away the box office, you know what the studio will be thinking: Sequel! We've known we wanted a "Magic Mike 2" ever since the trailer came out.
So, to give the studio a head start, here's eight guys we'd like to see take it all off for a twenty in "Magic Mike 2." Get More »
Summer isn't just the season for blockbusters. It's also the time of beefcakes. Oh sure, good-looking men abound in movies all year, but there's something about the hottest months that really brings them out, takes off their shirts, and makes them run, leap, and roll in slow motion.
This year seems especially easy on the eyes. We have the usual slate of superheroes (all of whom look fantastic in their capes and codpieces), soldiers and assassins, but with the extra spice of an android, a vampire, a medieval warrior, and a whole stable of male strippers. Any one of those is enough to make the season, but the combination is enough to make you glad theaters are air conditioned.
For now, here's a preview of summer's sexiest men to keep you feeling the heat until May and beyond.
If you've passed a bookstore or checked out the cover of Entertainment Weekly lately, you may be familiar with "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy. E.L. James' first novel is all the rage right now, but it started out as a mega-popular piece of "Twilight" fan fiction called "Master of the Universe." Seriously. The book, which now follows a clumsy, virginal brunette named Anastasia Steele as she falls for a gorgeous, auburn-haired billionaire named Christian Grey, once used the names Bella and Edward and was written with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in mind.
Unlike Bella and Edward, who don't get it on until they're married, Ana and Christian barely know each other when they begin a kinky sexual relationship in which
Edward Christian is a Dominant and Ana a Submissive. Think of it as "Twilight" minus the paranormal plus the graphic sexuality of "9 1/2 Weeks" by way of the dominant-submissive romance in "Secretary."
Now that Universal and Focus have optioned the book, the question on readers' minds is whether Robsten will consider starring in the roles literally written for them. While James, who has ultimate casting control over the leads, has said she hopes unknown stars will take the parts, she surely would love Rob and Kristen to say yes. But if they don't, here's a slate of other potential Anas and Christians that could steam it up together on-screen. Get More »
Alexander Skarsgard is taking shelter.
The "True Blood" star is going underground as he's joined the cast of the new chamber thriller, "Hidden," according to Variety.
"Hidden" chronicles the plight of a family hiding out in a bomb shelter after escaping a mysterious outbreak. Whether the (supposed) terror outside finds its way in or what transpires in the bomb shelter ends up being more terrifying than what's outside of it remains to be seen. Get More »
Sometimes, we journalists just have to go for the jugular.
So, when we were given the opportunity to have a quick chat with actor Alexander Skarsgard and director Peter Berg as they checked out the Hasbro toys being released in time for their movie, "Battleship," we had to take it.
After discussing how the "True Blood" star and "Friday Night Lights" director got involved in a movie based on a board game (Berg approached the studio about his love of the Navy and wanting to do an event movie and Skarsgard was in the Swedish Navy and wanted to work with Pete – see their full answer in the video below), we asked the thing on everyone's mind:
Who would win in an epic battle, the aliens from "Battleship" or the vampires from "True Blood?" Get More »
