"Battleship" may not have been quite the home run Hasbro was hoping for, but that's not stopping the toy company from going full steam ahead with more film projects alongside their Hollywood partner, Sony.
Case in point: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hasbro and Sony are teaming up with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production company to develop a big screen story around their popular Tonka Trucks line.
Hey, at least if this one takes a dump at the box office like "Battleship" did, they'll be ready to haul it away. Get More »
A lot of mothers and fathers were beaming with pride today.
Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester and other sons and daughters walked the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of "That's My Boy," the new comedy that casts Sandler and Samberg as father and son — with a bizarro reason for the barely-there age difference.
Check out our collection of pics from the premiere and get ready to bond with "That's My Boy" when it hits theaters on June 15.
"But, but Happy Gilmore and Marky Mark are so very different," you protest.
You are correct, but, according to Vulture, a whole plethora of scheduling complications and other issues factored into the decision to replace Wahlberg for the picture, including Wahlberg's association with the Peter Berg picture "Lone Survivor," the surprise pick-up of "Anchorman 2" which complicated Will Ferrell's time availability for shooting "Three Mississippi," and Warner Bros.' replacement of would-be director Adam McKay with Sean Anders, who'd just directed Sandler in June 15's "That's My Boy." "Grown Ups" told the story of a group of childhood friends who reunite as adults at the funeral of their high school basketball coach. After taking attendance we realize they were all there: the jock, the geek, the pregnant girl, the psychopaths and the male stripper. Every cliché necessary for an '80s high school comedy with that rich, full-bodied flavor we enjoy, except one thing was missing… a little someone named Adam Sandler.
Of course we're talking about the 1987 Mark Harmon/Kirstie Alley slacker classic "Summer School," which The Hollywood Reporter says will now be remade through Sandler's hit factory production company Happy Madison.
Well, you know, "hit factory," not counting "Bucky Larson." Sorry, Bucky.
Harmon originally starred as a laid-back gym teacher forced to abandon his summer plans and teach a remedial English class full of outcasts, weirdos, and a hot young Courtney Thorne-Smith fresh off of "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise." Get More »

Hollywood's biggest stars got slimed earlier this evening and the gooiest helpings of green sludge went to Kristen Stewart and Adam Sandler, who took home the mighty Blimp awards for Favorite Actress and Favorite Actor respectively at Nickelodeon's 2012 Kids' Choice Awards.
The choice of Sandler over "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe wasn't the biggest upset of the night, though, as that honor went to "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," which beat out "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," "The Muppets" and "The Smurfs" to take home the Blimp in the Favorite Movie category.
