Adam Sandler has pretty much mastered the role of an adult who can't grow up, but now he's taking that archetype to a whole new level — because he's officially attached to star in a live action feature film based on the Hasbro's board game, Candy Land. Yes, the one with the quasi-hot Princess Frostine and semi-evil Lord Licorice.
In the game (in case you've forgotten) players go on a magical journey through fantastical lands made of candy, sweets, and ice cream: the Peppermint Forest, the Gum Drop Mountains, and the Lollypop Woods.encounter such iconic characters as Mr. Mint, King Kandy and the halfway melted fudge bar, Gloppy.
We can already hear the activist groups against promoting such horrible eating habits to children now... but we digress. Get More »
Now that the Golden Globes are over, we're officially in the thick of Oscars season. Which means that studios are putting on the full-court publicity press for films they want to earn coveted Oscar nominations (announced January 24).
Industry magazines like Variety are brimming with "For Your Consideration" ads touting the usual suspects, including those who won Golden Globes last Sunday.
But what about those potential nominees and angles that aren't quite so obvious? We're rooting for you, Mike Vogel in "The Help"! And even "Jack and Jill" has its Oscars champion ... somewhere.
With the help of our friend Old Red Jalopy, we've unearthed nine, shall we say, "unorthodox" Oscar campaign posters you might have missed.
You can never have too many reunions with childhood pals, right?
Adam Sandler and friends might be headed for another middle-aged adventure as Sony Pictures and Happy Madison Productions are in talks with "Grown Ups" scribe Fred Wolf to write a sequel, according to Variety.
"Grown Ups" starred Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider as childhood friends who come together over a Fourth of July weekend to attend the funeral of their youth basketball coach. The film, released in June 2010, is Sandler's highest grossing comedy to date, earning over $227 million in worldwide box office. Get More »
They say the U.S. doesn't make things anymore -- that we've lost our way and are no longer No. 1.
Well, "they" are wrong. No country on Earth is capable of producing the quantity, quality and quantity of idiots that our fair land churns out with alarming regularity.
Affable favorite Paul Rudd continues the proud tradition of representing our country's most common commodity in "Our Idiot Brother," nwe on DVD and Blu-ray this week. But can he be stupid enough to join the ranks of elite morons, or does he still have a few more brain cells to kill? Let's review his imbecilic competition. Get More »
Critics can argue all they want that Adam Sandler has questionable taste (see also: reviews for "Jack and Jill") but we beg to differ.
The actor/actress may just have the best taste in all of Hollywood... in leading ladies, that is.
Don't get us wrong -- we know humor goes a long way -- but Sandler's not exactly the first guy we think of when listing off Hollywood's male hotties, yet, in his movies, he winds up with the ladies near the top of the list. At first glance, does Sandler seem like the kind of guy who could land the likes of Salma Hayek, Jessica Biel or Mrs. Tom Cruise herself, his "Jack and Jill" wife Katie Holmes?
We've gotta hand it to the guy. Behold our gallery dedicated to the absurdly hot love interests of Adam Sandler.
Just how stupid are Adam Sandler movies?
That's the big question being answered today by Hollywood.com. Of course, when it comes to Sandler films, "stupid" is not necessarily a pejorative term; after all, some of his funniest skits and gags are intentionally dumb. It's just how he rolls, you know?
But with "Jack and Jill" hitting theaters today, people are starting to ask: Just how dumb is too dumb? And that's where Hollywood.com's brilliant new Adam Sandler Stupidity Scale comes into play. Get More »
For his new family movie "Jack and Jill," Adam Sandler is going up a hill to fetch a pail of comedy but tumbling down a slippery slope of adultery.
Well, maybe in his mind.
According to the Huffington Post, the funnyman from "Funny People" was in New York last night to appear on CBS's "Late Show With David Letterman" to chat up his latest goofy voices project when he let slip an intriguing development between him and costar Katie Holmes. Get More »
