UPDATE: Not so fast there, Mendes! Mz. Broccoli isn't finished with you yet! According to a Deadline Hollywood report that went up just hours after Variety published a story revealing all of the directors in the running, the guy who directed "Skyfall" (and won an Oscar for "American Beauty") is back in the running to direct Bond 24 after all. Mendes had told Empire Magazine that he bowed out in order to focus on other projects, including a West End production of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The Deadline report says that Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and her half-brother Michael Wilson are now open to waiting for him.

Chinese Censors Not Falling for 'Skyfall'

Before Daniel Craig could show off his train-hopping, cuff-tugging, martini-swiggin' James Bond magic in "Skyfall" to China's movie audiences, censors employed a few not-so-creative adjustments to the film's final cut.

As detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, "Skyfall" — which was partially set in Shanghai and Macau — was trimmed and tweaked quite a bit in order to avoid political and/or cultural rife with notoriously free speech-inhibited nation before being introduced to its theaters. Get More »

It looks like Lord Voldemort could be bringing his badness to the next James Bond movie. Actor Ralph Fiennes is reportedly in talks to play a "darkly complex" character in director Sam Mendes's upcoming "Bond 23."

"It's the first of a new generation of Bond films, and the ideas Mendes has push the film into darker territory where the characters are modern, mature, and challenging," a film exec told Britain's Daily Mail, according to SlashFilm. Get More »
