Michael Clarke Duncan Dies at Age 54

Film.com is reporting that Michael Clarke Duncan, the gentle giant who became an overnight sensation for his Oscar-nominated turn in "The Green Mile," has died today, nearly two months after suffering a heart attack.

He was 54.

A former ditch digger, Duncan followed his dream and moved to Hollywood, where he worked as a bodyguard before getting his big break in the 1998 action film "Armageddon." Less than two years later, in a true Hollywood success story, he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
