Halloweenis just around the bend, and we have a sneaking suspicion that some of you tributes may want to take your costume fare to District 12 (or the Capitol — we don't judge) this year.
"The Hunger Games" star Elizabeth Banks has a very Effie Trinket-esque — only, add a sense of humor — role in the upcoming sing-off flick "Pitch Perfect." For the "Clueless" meets "Glee" meets "Bring It On" movie, Banks serves as a producer and an actress, which means fans will get to see her work her magic with hilarious one-liners starting this Friday.
When it comes to these types of zany roles, Banks is on point at every turn, so, to celebrate her latest we decided to hash out some of her quirkiest, most Effie-like portrayals to-date. Get More »
That bunch knows how to sizzle before the camera. But did you know Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen) can also air-puppetteer her own face? Or that Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) can make an insane cricket chirping noise on cue? Or that Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) can perform magic tricks for a crowd? Get More »
During production for "The Hunger Games" in North Carolina, we tributes got to watch from afar as certain portions of filming were spotted by photographers — like Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) traipsing around the Shelby set of the reaping scene and Capitol extras wandering around outside in costume — and it totally amped up our anticipation level for the movie.
Now movie two of the franchise, "Catching Fire", is set to begin filming very shortly, with some of the cast migrating one-by-one down south and potential signs of pre-production already spotted outside of the Georgia Dome. As with the first film, the story includes a lot of outdoor scenes, and, at this point, the world is watching and waiting for this project to come into view, so we predict we'll get to see a little filming action underway for this installment too.
We think these five scenes stand a good chance of being scoped out, and here's why. Be warned, spoilers abound! Get More »
Unless you've been hiding under a rock a la Peeta Mellark in the arena for the past few weeks, you probably already know that "The Hunger Games" on DVD is finally dropping this weekend (Aug. 18, to be precise). Needless to say, tributes the world over are now furiously counting down the remaining hours — as Wiress from "Catching Fire" would say, "tick tock, tick tock" — until the games can begin at home.
If you're like us, you'll be hitting the nearest midnight release party (which can be found with this handy dandy locator) and clapping like a Capitol kid just raring to see the show as you grip the plastic-sheathed cover of your very own copy. While there won't be any deleted scenes on the DVD, there will be some new behind-the-scenes goodies and commentary to enjoy within. Not to mention the small fact that you'll be able to watch "The Hunger Games" at home as often as you like.
So, to help make the big occasion even more of a B.F.D. than it already is, we cooked up a checklist of things die-hard "Hunger Games" fans can do to celebrate the long-awaited release throughout the weekend. Get More »

There may only be a few things officially lined up for "The Hunger Games" at this year's Comic-Con event (we can probably — hopefully! — count on a proper "Catching Fire" cast and filmmaker panel next summer), but there's still some real potential for the annual shindig-o-geekery to make us feel like we're living right there in Victor's Village.
So what've they got going on this summer until then? Here's the scoop on how Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and the rest of "The Hunger Games" cast are spending their summer. Get More »
