Academy Award winner William Hurt has had his fair share of career milestones, but as everyone is Hollywood knows, you're nobody until throngs of screaming girls know your name.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the veteran actor may soon know the warm embrace of Stephenie Meyer fandom as he's currently in talks to take on a major role in "The Host," based on the "Twilight" author's sci-fi novel of the same name.

Hurt is currently in negotiations to play Jeb, the uncle of lead character Melanie Stryder, played by "Hanna" star Saoirse Ronan. Jeb plays an integral role against the alien invasion that has left his niece's brain controlled by an alien named Wanderer.

The movie is being helmed by "In Time" director Andrew Niccol, who also adapted the screenplay. "Percy Jackson" actor Jake Abel will star as Ian, a young man in love with Wanderer, while Max Irons will play Melanie's love interest, Jared Howe.

"The Host" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2013.
