From superhero movies to sci-fi to computer-animated kiddie fare, this summer seems to have been filled with some memorable movies. But being able to tell your "Avengers" from your "Battleship" may be harder than you think.
Funny Or Die has put together a mash-up of some eye-popping scenes from this summer's 3-D movies as well as a few from the recent past, and, it turns out, these movies have a lot of elements in common. To be a 3-D movie these days, it looks like you've got to have a sweeping shot of a New York City skyline, a heroic archer shooting an arrow towards the screen and a huge buglike alien terrorizing the town. Throw in a blue light that shines into the sky, and you've got yourself a 3-D blockbuster.
Apparently there's no need to worry if you haven't been keeping up with all of this summer's cinematic offerings. According to this video, if you've seen one 3-D movie this summer, you've seen them all.
